One of the biggest tragedies of mankind through out all of history is all of the female geniuses who were never allowed to reach their potential and contribute their gifts to the world. Think of all the female “Mozarts” or “Einsteins” who could have been, but never were.

Albert Einstein’s first wife, Mileva Maric, was a physicist and sole female student at Zurich’s Polytechnics and the second woman to study Physics and Mathematics full-time at their department, and may’ve collaborated with Einstein on his early papers, but according to their son she had to put aside her scientific ambitions to take care of the children. So these cases of unfulfilled female potential are more literal than you’d expect.
