“Drawing with light” or, photography, as its commonly referred to, is truly an art and a science. I’ve always been intrigued by photography as both a practice and a professional, but, also as an art. I’ve been privileged to do for some time, and In that time, I probably have caught an infinite amount of priceless moments, including this shot I took between best friends, @alyssapoole_ and @ashtyyn and the whole time, I kept asking myself… which lighting looks better?? Here they are, vibing out enjoying their friendship, and my mind is grinding like, “Ugh, I can’t decide….” So, of course, I shot both ways. And it’s interesting to me, how they decided which shot to post. I say that because I know what I was thinking in the moment, and they literally showed a reflection of that by choosing to post one or the other. Ironically, I saw BOTH of these shots in my mind, with different lighting and all, and I was glad the camera could capture what I saw beforehand. Yes, I do believe the technical aspects of photography, as boring as they may be, clearly should probably be left to a pro, and I don’t say that, just because I am one, but, because if you’re zoning out to take photos of your people, then, you can’t be present in the moment with your people. In my mind, it makes sense to get someone most likely not attached to the emotional moments. Speaking on myself personally, I at least will catch precious moments, but, just know that I’ll also most likely be in a war zone in my mind “attempting to manipulating and control the light”. Most people don’t care about the technical aspects of photography, I don’t even know why I felt compelled to share this, well yes I do, haha, but, for the sake of argument, I do know, most people just want to know, “did you get the shot?” Well, I guess the point I’m making is, “the shot”, is subjective, as clearly we see here. Anyway, I appreciate the invite @421jason and I was honored to capture yet another milestone.
