Hey guys, Michael here. I'm safe and sound with Ivan in Pennsylvania now. :) I'm still trying to get a job, but hopefully that'll work out soon. You guys have helped us come so far, I can't be pessimistic now. Everything will work out.Â
----
On my personal blog, however, I ran across Akaisha0's post about her job. Awhile back, she was hit by a car and has been struggling to make ends meet. Now, it seems her job has been jeopardized due to a technical error that the tech crew has given up on fixing. I felt awful and wanted to help her somehow, but we're still getting on our feet ourselves. So, while I can't commission her or donate to her right now, I can help spread her story!
So check Akaisha0 out. She makes really awesome plushies. And not just Homestuck. I'm not sure what all she'll do, but I'm pretty sure she could sew anything you came up with (she's pretty awesome).Â

Been following you guy's story for a while now, and it seems like things may be looking up a bit for you two! Please stay safe, and keep us all updated! We're rooting for you! :D
Thanks a lot! Yeah, things are definitely finally looking up. I'm back home for a bit- but it looks like I'll be heading back to Pennsylvania bright and early on the 12th (at least that's the plan right now). I came back because my dad agreed to bring me right back with as much of our stuff as I can get in my parent's SUV, plus I think he plans on helping me buy some house-related items (Kitchen supplies, a new mattress, etc).
My mom knows she can't talk me out of moving, and my dad has told her he's on my side with it... So she's just staying out of it; she knows it's a fight she can't win.Â
Not that I'm not coming home "Today", my official leaving date is the 1st, but that I'm not coming home at all- and telling them today.Â
It's a bit of an understatement to say I'm fucking terrified. But hey, I guess all they can do is trash my stuff. Which would suck, but they can't really do anything to me, so...
-------
But, I wanted to let you guys know- I'm here in PA with Ivan, and have been since the 15th, and have loved every minute of it. Except maybe walking in the snow. That wasn't fun... The snow needs to calm down for a few days.Â
And you guys are to thank for getting us here. Seriously. You guys are the best. Without you, who knows where we would be.Â
I mean, seriously, we met our awesome now-roommate through this blog too. (And bless her for letting me stay here too now.) So, every single bit of the good things that have happened to us in the past year is because of you guys.Â

We both really like Artist's Lofts (or whatever you want to call them)- the unfinished look of them and the huge open space- So we've been looking into various places, hoping to find one we can afford. Since Ivan's all the way up in Pennsylvania now, I started looking there, and the surrounding states.Â
Well, that proved harder than expected because apparently lofts have become "a thing" now.
However, we did find a really lovely-sounding one in Cincinnati. It's $895/month, all utilities included, and a surprising 2100 sq ft.Â
Since we've lived in South Georgia our whole lives until now, we really have no idea about anywhere, so... Has anyone out there lived in Cincinnati?Â
As always- Any comments or ideas are appreciated!Â
Well, two months back, Ivan moved to PA to stay with a friend we met through here. He's still staying with her and I'm still here at home. I'm still hoping to get out of here, as soon as possible, because things here are no better and my mom has lost her mind and is trying to take out a loan to start a business and I don't think she's thought it through enough...Â
Now though, since the change of plans with Ivan having to move so suddenly and a few other things- We're not looking to move necessarily to Orlando anymore. Right now I'll looking at places closer to him, and know someone looking for a roommate who lives in PA- so we'll see how it goes. Lots of stuff to think over...
Ok so I had posted that our asks might be broken, but I just got some in so...
Ask box is ok!Â
I was wondering because one of Ivan's ask boxes from one of his roleplay blogs was acting up- and I worried maybe this one was too and didn't want to have missed something.Â
Hello, everyone! I know it's been a long time since I posted here-last time I was on the hunt for a job, and I believe Michael told everyone that I got an interview! Well, my interview went a lot better than Michael's-that still sucks, ugh-and I've more or less got my job in the bag! My background check came back all clean, and now I just have to fill in some paperwork, etc, and I will be all set for orientation and training! So all's exciting and swell on this side of things!

Michael, sorry to hear about your interview. Don't give up, you two can try again <3
Yeah. I'd say it's ok- but it really isn't. It was a huge mess. Needless to say I want nothing to do with Disney at the moment, not even Orlando (mostly due to all the Disney shit I'd have to see around town) . But who knows... Time will tell.Â
So, as you can probably tell, my interview went less than splendidly. It went less than alright too. In fact, it went so badly, I had to make a complaint to a manager AND Dad spoke to this manager after I did. But I'm getting ahead of myself.
Putting this on a read-more because it's pretty long.Â
I got to the Casting Center early, as told, all dressed up in my nice clothes- checked in, took a seat, even sat all lady-like, waiting for my turn. My appointment was 2:30pm - I went into the interview at 3pm. Yeah...Â
I didn't really suspect anything at first, but the interviewer, Sandra, started off in the hall on the way to her office, asking me where I currently lived.Â
So I told her and explained how I was moving down within the month. No big deal right? So I thought.
Due to the headache I'm still dealing with 8 hours later, I would be hard pressed to tell you the rest of the interview in order, so I'll just go over what all happened.
Sandra went on to question me about my job history. No big deal yeah? Well, here's where it gets interesting (and possibly illegal?)
She went on to ask me incredibly personal questions about why I left college, why I hadn't done anything since then, specifically where I was moving, was my roommate moving with me (I had mentioned Ivan when I mentioned college and apartment hunting), if I had a car, if Ivan had a car, how much money we had in savings, and Where we got that money.Â
She also told me how I couldn't rely on my roommates car (Um, bitch, I just said I was buying my own car) and I couldn't rely on the bus.
She told me I was "too young to be calling it quits with college" and told me how I should go back. (despite me explaining that I left college for financial reasons)
Fun fact: While telling me how I needed a car, she made a joke about how if I worked Grad Nite I'd be getting off very very late. Correct me if I'm wrong, but last time I checked the last Grad Nite was May '11, so they no longer do that. Smart ass doesn't even know her own company.
What their official reason was for not hiring me was my lack of experience. However, this pissed everyone off because on the application it does not say you need attractions experience to work attractions. They had ample opportunity to decline me before we drove 5 hours to an interview, but chose not to.Â
We went to Orlando for Sandra to call me back, tell me how I shouldn't drop out of college and how I hadn't thought about the cost of living in Orlando, and send me home. I literally spent more time watching Monster's Inc. in the waiting area than I did in the interview. The "interview" may have lasted 5 minutes- it felt more like 3.Â
What a fucking Joke Disney.Â
Oh, the manager woman. Dad said her name was Becky, I didn't care to catch her name. She basically backed up the woman and kept saying I didn't get hired because of experience.
We weren't complaining that I didn't get hired- the complaint was how entirely too personal the questions were and how unprofessional the interview was. But, I was upset and my parent's were there- at that point I was just some bratty kid to her that was crying because I didn't get a job at Disney.
But you know, fuck you Sandra. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your Labor Day (I was her last appointment- Hmm, think that may have something to do with this?).Â
-Michael
Edit:Â There may be a lot of edits on this- I often remember stuff that I forgot after telling the story =_=Â
She ended the blink-of-an-eye interview by telling me "So here are the things you need to do now." and told me to get a place in Orlando, get a car, and get more experience. She began to tell me a way to appeal my case or something if I got ready in less than 6 months- but stopped herself saying "Well you have to get more experience and that's going to take more than 6 months anyways, so in 6 months your application will expire and you'll have to fill another one out when you're ready"
So, I don't know how much experience this woman wants from me- but I get the feeling she means more like, years from now. I got this feeling from both of them. In fact, I got the feeling that it was still that damn "Go back to college" shit.Â
Another fun fact: The manager backed up the college thing saying that she said it because so many College Program kids come to Disney then drop out of college to stay there and work instead of "fulfilling their dreams". Well fuck you lady, my dream was to work for you bitches. Way to ruin that shit.
I also need to stress how Sandra's voice sounded. You know that fake smile voice that people put on where you just feel like they're treating you like you're 5. That sort of thing. The manager defended the money questions saying that often people apply at Disney and hop down to Orlando without realized how much it costs. So, Sandra really was saying I couldn't move to Orlando even though I said I could? So, Sandra was calling me a liar? Oh yes.Â
The argument was long and dirty and terrible, she said things about me and Ivan and Ivan's parents that she should have never even thought. But it's done now and she knows I'm going to Orlando no matter what, and she can just kiss my ass.
I need to get out of here more than I think she'll ever realize, until I actually harm her- and I want to leave before that happens.Â
So- I'm going to that interview next week it seems. With any luck, I'll be hired (it'll take a lot of bad luck not to be, from what I hear). Then, I'll have a few weeks to get everything else settled before my training starts.Â
The roommate thing is still standing, by the way. If nothing comes of it, however, there are other people looking to rent out a room in their place, so I'll be alright. One way or another, I'll make this happen.Â
Wish me luck- and Ivan. We're both going through a really nerve-wrecking time right now.Â

Ok, so... since Ivan asked me to. [Possible Roommate request]
I've had a rough couple of days. I realized that I wont be able to afford living in Orlando on my pay if I take that job with Disney. This was far more devastating than I thought it would be. So, after trying desperately to think of a way to make it work, Ivan reminded me of you guys and- since he asked me to, I'm going to step out of my comfort box and ask you guys for even more help.Â
Are any of you guys near Disney and in need/would be ok with a roommate? Or do you know anywhere with short-term leases that are really cheap? XDÂ
But seriously. Roommates.Â
I'm pretty quiet and keep to myself a lot, often just chilling on the computer- so I wouldn't be very noisy or get in your hair, if that's a plus. Idk shoot me an ask with any questions? I have to let Disney know about my interview by Monday- so it's kinda short notice.Â
