Poets Note :- This one is inspired by a heavy topic. One that we all know of and sometimes don't like to talk about-War. Something that haunts us even now. I hope this poem has a message that rings clear in the hearts of those who read it. Thanks for taking the time to pause and ponder upon this poem titled :-

The No-Name Men

- An Original Composition By Lucille

Once upon a time a war was fought,

Between two countries that didn't really know what they sought.

And so guns were fired but no one knew why,

But in order to win the war they atleast had to try.

Try to convince their soldiers that the battle they fought was noble and true,

But why they fought? Of that even the soldiers had no clue.

But still they nodded in unison and they marched off to battle,

They shot their guns while their bullets killed all the family members and even their cattles.

Amongst this confused herd of the to-be-dead were two soldiers who didn't want any of this at all,

And they conveyed their doubts but their voices were unheard for they were far too insignificant and small.

So they too marched into an unwanted battle on their own,

Because a seed of hatred had been sown,

And as time passed here they now stood,

They held their guns to each other's foreheads because that's all that they could,

Do to save themselves because their actions were driven tonight by hearts misunderstood.

And so the bullets fired and they hit both just the same,

And they died without having even known each other's names.

I’ll start.

it comes from my 5th grade music group that happened during the first year of Covid when we were stuck at home hence the Home part, then glitch is because computers glitch. Once I left I took the name with me

Knight Qoheleth

A name I wear like a wound.

The Knight rides against absurdity,

The Qoheleth preaches into the void.

Dostoevsky taught me that beneath absurdity lies the trembling possibility of redemption & to love despite despair is the final rebellion.

So I wander, half philosopher, half penitent, fighting shadows, hoping the abyss might one day answer back.

This name isn't just my pen name — it's a part of my identity..

Nyx is the Greek goddess of night, born from chaos. The word Nyx itself means Night in Greek. ..

Tenberis is derived from the Latin word Tenebris, meaning darkness.

Together, Nyx Tenberis means “The Darkest Night” .. ... A night dripped in its deepest shadows, almost alive, observing..

I was originally going to take Nyx Tenebris, but I wanted it to be truly mine.. so I changed Tenebris to Tenberis.

My own version of Latin 😅..

My username basically has two origin stories haha

1) Lucille comes from this movie I once watched and loved, fallen 2016 and I thought the characters' name should be Lucille cause they called her luce and since I liked the name idea so much I kept it lol though she was called Lucinda as I later came to learn, much to my dismay.

2) Ambrose comes from my own oc, Ethan Ambrose from my WIP.

"What Do You Want To Be When You Grow Up?"

- An Original Composition By Lucille

Today I met a girl who had the spark still shining bright in her eyes as she smiled at me and I returned her smile though the façade never reached my eyes, she was with her father picking out a new toy and she put her hand on the toy doctors kit, I saw her father's eyes then, the way they lit up thinking the girl had chosen to become a doctor so he leaned in and he smiled and he asked his favourite question

"What do you want to be when you grow up?"

The little girl, barely aware, who thought the stethoscope was a necklace, smiled and told him that she wants to be a fairy. The father shook his head and he muttered about how she had a creative imagination under his breath and then moved on, never really letting her buy the "necklace" she liked.

The little girl, as she grew older found her spark, now she didn't want to be a fairy she wanted to be a queen, one who leads whole nations like a queen from one of those nameless stories she'd liked. So when christmas morning came and all the adults sat next to her and asked what she wanted to be she smiled and said she wanted to be a queen. This time though, the adults didn't smile, they told her that at her age she needed to have a goal. Her heart now shattered the girl just nodded and she said she'd find something else and they all moved onto conversations about how money controls the world while she sat there, quiet and slowly losing that spark I once saw in her eyes.

Years passed and now at 25 the girl was lost and still people would ever so often ask what she wanted to be when she grew up. She didn't understand the question now, she'd already grown up but she didn't know what she was right now so she'd smile and she'd tell them something impossible and out of reach, how she's in a company, behind a desk and someday she'll own all those desks and people will work for her. This answer seemed to please and the girl was content with that.

Years down the lane the girl now 42, still behind that desk, never really promoted, realised that people stopped asking once they were sure they'd killed her spark. So she went to a grocery store on a rainy Saturday and she met a girl with a spark in her eyes and she asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up? The girl said she wanted to be a fairy and this time the older one smiled and said then that's what you should be thus breaking the cycle or so she thought until the father came and he smiled and he nodded and much like many others before him told the girl how she had a beautiful imagination afterall.

The Butterfly Jar

- An Original Composition By Lucille

Once upon a time there was a little boy still learning about life,

And one day he found a beautiful butterfly.

The boy caught it somehow and brought it home,

And he wanted to keep it forever but his mother wouldn't allow it that much was known.

So he let it go and the butterfly flew away.

The same story occurred once again when the boy was a bit older but he didn't let it go this time, much to our dismay.

As the years passed on by the number of butterflies in jars all dusty and forgotten grew.

And so too did the boys need to catch more butterflies grow because that was all he knew how to do.

He knew how to love and to admire their beauty,

He'd catch them in jars and take care of them for atleast a week keeping everything neat and tidy.

But then he'd forget, like most guys do,

And the butterfly would be abandoned without having a single clue,

So as to why someone who loved her so much now just had to leave,

So in her confusion each butterfly would weep.

The years passed on by and the room got bigger and the butterflies grew more in numbers as well,

How many had he caught by now? He could not tell.

But he knew he needed more he'd say,

He'd spend all his time catching them, he'd dedicate every single day.

But one day the boy tripped and his shelf of butterflies broke,

And the now free butterflies ran away from his tortuous trove.

The numbers now lesser and the greed ever growing,

The boy wanted more butterflies he just knew it.

So the story went on and it never really ended,

He kept catching them in the hopes that someday his own butterfly heart, caught by someone else, would be mended.

I Bought You Coffee

- An Original Composition By Lucille

You stabbed me in the back and I bought you coffee,

You told me I made you feel sick but you drank the coffee.

I smiled down at my cup as you spoke,

Cause id already heard this conversation in my mind a million times before.

It wasn't anything new but I watched as you drank the coffee while I couldn't take a sip,

I had to stay quiet i couldn't let a single word escape my lips.

We sat in that cubicle for what felt like hours,

The weight of your words had now started making my weak heart cower,

In the fear of understanding how unlovable it could be,

But really all you'd said was that you needed a break but it isn't what that meant to me.

So i imagined you holding a gun to my forehead as I stood with my hands bare,

Because my heart was telling me that no one for something like me could ever care.

And so i bought you coffee and we talked about the meaningless nothings,

And i sat there smiling while it all went from everything to something forgotten.

Poets Note :- It's been a whileee since I've posted last and went on a hiatus so I thought I'd slowly start posting again. This one is inspired by this story I read on reddit ages ago, about this man who falls into a coma for barely a day and imagines a whole life with a very loving wife and kids of his own but all that ends when he notices a lamp that looks a little too strange. I've always found that idea fascinating. And so today I thought I'd write about it. Here's my take on it with a dash of love and as always here's the title:-

The Odd-Looking Lamp

I once woke up in a world where there was an us,

I knew it wasn't real and yet some hopeless part of me wanted to trust,

Trust in this illusion that seemed to be kinder than reality,

But in the corner of my eye the lamp flickering was something i could see.

I did my best to avoid it all,

I tried to distract myself to make this dream last a little longer. Even if the time I'd earn was small.

I looked away and instead reminisced on the life that we'd built here,

I wouldn't want to lose you nor this life, both of which to me were dear.

You came and you hugged me as you tried to get to me look at the lamp,

I looked you in the eyes and told you that I just can't,

Walk away from all we had.

You said it would be fine and that once I left id be glad.

But I shook my head and I told you that our reality wasn't like what we have now,

No, there was never an us out there, we'd manage to lose eachother everytime somehow.

You shook your head as you told me to stop joking about things like that,

You told me that this joke was awful and it made your loving heart awfully sad.

I smiled a bitter smile and I told you I couldn't let go,

But it wasn't really you, so the image of you did all that it was meant to do.

It turned my head and I saw the lamp,

And suddenly to our reality where there was no you and i, I was back.

Hello loves ❤️

Thought it's been a while so I should officially put out a notice for this blog. I am going to be discontinuing any posts for a while on here, the reason is pretty obvious haha i seem to have lost the ability to write. Life has been a downhill battle lately so that was bound to happen but I just wanted to put it out there ykwim, so that the ones who were waiting for a new blog weren't confused if I didn't post for months. As for when I'll post again, I'm not sure but I'll hope its sooner rather than never. Will miss you all alot!! ❤️

I had to think about it for a long time.

1. I'm actually from Germany and I usually write in German. But I mostly write poems in English. I can often express myself better that way.

2. My favorite colors are blue and black (I know a lot of people say black isn't a color, but I don't care).

3. My favorite artists includes NF, Billie Eilish, The neighborhood , The Fray, Cleffy, Noah Henderson, SYML, and Amber Run (I had a hard time choosing).

4. I learned to read at an early age (I was 4), and I've loved it ever since. I read all kinds of things. I can't decide on a genre.

5. I have a bit of a true crime obsession. Another obsession of mine is medicine, especially oncology.

6. I've been writing stories, essays, and texts since I was 5, but I only started writing poetry when I was 13.

7. I hate a lot of things that most people love, for example: pizza, swimming, sun, and spicy food.

8. My favorite authors are Charlotte Brontë, Jane Austen, Joy Fielding, John Green, and Mona Kasten.

9. I'm a vegetarian (boring, I know, but I'm running out of other facts).

10. I have 283 books in my room. I think you can tell I'm out of ideas.

10 Things About Me

I love the outdoors. Being out in nature is very cathartic to me, but due to a somewhat erratic schedule, I don't often get to lol

I've been writing for a long time, but have never actually posted anything but poems and have never finished a full length novel, but have started them a few times. The attempt that I'm on now is the furthest I've ever gotten.

I love to paint! Anything really. Most of my painting these days is actually e-painting though. I unfortunately haven't touched a canvas in years. But I do touch brushes! I also paint miniatures for D&D, and also for WH40k, but haven't ever been an avid player of 40k.

Among my writing, I also love comedy writing! In fact, certain ideas I've learned from both comedy writing and novel writing even show up in my poetry! As an example, repetition and call-backs!

I have far too many musical instruments, and I honestly want more lol. I have 3 electronic drumkits. (I had an acoustic kit at one time, but it's gone lol) I have 2 acoustic basses. 4 electric basses. 5 acoustic guitars. 7 electric guitars, and 3 keyboards. (I miss my upright piano) I've played for years and collected them all over time. I've set up a small recording thinga-majiggy (definitely can't call it a studio lol). I obviously play multiple instruments, but very much want to learn violin, cello, and saxophone lol.

Along the lines of the music thing, I've always wanted to open up a place that was sort of like a YMCA in a way, but for music. It would be charity based, and if kids can't afford to buy an instrument and learn it, any one really, then they could come in, pick one of hundreds of instruments to play, sit down and plug it in. Music has obviously always been a huge part of my life and has a tendency to influence me in different ways.

I absolutely love food, in some ways definitely call myself a foodie, but I'm also kind of picky! I'll eat a ton of different things, but for example, I absolutely hate the texture of onions, but love the flavor.

Along the food lines, I love to cook! My dad actually went to college to be a chef (ended up going a different route after college), and taught me a ton about cooking in general. I have some pretty tasty recipes, and have gotten a ton of awesome compliments, holla lmao

I was very wild in my early 20's! I liked to go fast and do some crazy things sometimes lol. There were many intense moments that make me realize I'm very lucky to be here. in fact, I've had a life that could probably make a very interesting Netflix movie, but one day had a very abrupt change in circumstances and it's been boring ever since lol (I was actually running out of things I wanted to say with this one, let's see how the next one goes haha)

I used to ride horses when I was a teenager! (could have gone better lol) My uncle used to have a ton of land and raised horses for a while. It was a ton of fun lol

Well that was fun to do lol. I guess I'll get to the tag part now. No pressure at all, but if you don't do it you might stub your toe? idk, but I wouldn't want to risk it lol

Alright so 10 things! I'll try to not bore you guys ..

1) I'm mentally chaotic- like really ..people who talk to me long enough prefer considering me as non-human crazy creature

(I'm secretly an aline 👽)

2) On the other hand I can also be really calm like ocean calm.. Yk reading with my coffee soft music in the background type~

3) I used to play piano but thanks to my legendary time management skill i stopped after a few months.. I wish to start playing again..

4) I love eating and cooking^^ .. but not a pro type like it tastes really good but I make the kitchen a mess 😅

5) I also enjoy watching anime! Some of my fav picks are AOT, onepiece, tokyo ghoul and death note..

6) I haven't read many novels but my favourite work of fiction is ORV "omniscient reader's viewpoint"

7) I hate small insects! especially lizards and cockroaches >< ..

8) My memory is worse than one of a goldfish. 😑

9) English is my second language ..

1. Well, let's start with the basics, I'm a literature and a history major that's pretty self explanatory as to how it shows up and even assists in my writing.

2. I love psychology, i study it individually just because it helps me understand those around me.

3. I write because it is an outlet for me to spill my thoughts onto and not let them just pile up in my head and suffocate me. I mean hey atleast it gives some good content for Tumblr lol

4. I'm a big reader BUT I do not like the classics, mainly because I'm forced to read them for my major so it sucks the joy out of it.

5. My favourite book series is " a good girls guide to murder" by holly jackson. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a new read!!

6. Once upon a time I lived in a haunted house all alone,

But even during the day staying there just felt wrong.

You weren't there, I knew that much,

But the voices that I heard each night were something i couldn't trust.

They told me you missed my laugh or the way i tasted on your lips,

They told me you still wished we'd had the time for one last kiss.

Every night I sleep in the bed that feels just a little too cold,

Maybe my yearning for your warmth is slowly starting to become something I'm used to, something sacred and old.

I walk through this house during the day and I hear the small creaks it makes,

But i ignore it since I don't really have anything more to say.

I still hear it sometimes, the way even the house whispers, through its creaks your name.

But without you here it just doesn't feel the same.

I am haunted by the ghost of the one i loved,

And yes he didn't stay that's true, maybe on our love some part of him gave up.

Nonetheless the ghost of our love still haunts my house everyday,

Begging me to do something, anything, to simply just say,

Say I needed you to stay.

You left but these ghosts never did,

So in this lonely house, with forgotten memories of us, alongside me do these ghosts still sit.

I was in choir in middle school and once went to Regionals and got all 1's, but wasn't able to continue in choir while my voice changed due to ageing and I hate it now lol

Due to shows like The Power Rangers when I was a kid, and certain issues in my childhood, I developed a lifelong love of martial arts and have studied a few different styles, I'm only okay on my best day though.

I am not nearly as country as I look lol. I was raised in Texas and due to that and work requirements, wear baseball caps and flannels, but am far more alternative/metal than people would usually take me for.

1) Before poetry, I was big on creativity, still am, though it's dulled out a bit over the years. I was really into crafts and stuff that involved using my imagination. I was even into painting, sketching and clay art haha.

2) I was really into singing back in the day, even took up a few stage performance opportunities offered by my uni or such :)

3) I am also a gamer haha though more of a cozy gamer. I'm even in a few gaming communities lol. I do love a good rpg but I'm more into visual novels. 🖥️❤️

It took 1 day to know I'd fall for you,

1 year to realise I'd miss you forever,

2 years to understand that maybe you were gone for good,

1 fateful night when we met again.

3 years to learn each other's names.

It's been 5 years now and I've come to realise that it'll take an eternity learning how to unlove you, for we were meant to be but just not meant to last. And the worst part?

It took only one second to understand that you were too well entwined with my soul for me to ever learn how to let you go. Futile attempts make me what I am, a poet who writes for you.

Decay

- An Original Composition By Lucille

I sometimes wonder whether love was like a fragile flower that was always destined to wilt, but we humans have this horrible habit of preserving the decay so we tried to save it. We dipped it in resin and coloured the black decay away and we told the world to come and see the flower that would never, ever, go away. The world came and they turned a blind eye to how even in its glass cage the rose wilted, they told you how pretty it was, how permanent it would be and how you'd never lose it. But the flower wilted slowly but surely the decay won and it shone through but humanity is fragile, maybe even more so than the flower for in our rage we shattered the flower, blaming it for dying when we never even tried to water it and let it grow at all.

You cannot preserve the flower that's meant to wilt. Let it play out its course and you will see it bloom, but wilt it shall, t'was always thus and always thus shall be.

Like a moth to flame,

It all slowly drifted away,

Summers passed me by,

Winter nights saw me cry.

The sun still rose and the moon still set,

Lives were lived and people were still met by death.

The unattainable could not be attained,

Hopes were crushed and dreams destroyed, left in disdain.

The world still turned even when you'd forgotten my name.

Because there's two kinds of people in this life,

One you love because you want to, and one you tolerate despite.

I was the latter, never really chosen just there,

Sitting on a dusty bookshelf like a story no one wanted to share.

There's two kinds of people, a butterfly and a moth,

But i guess a butterfly is what everyone had sought.

I was a moth and I would do anything to be different,

But it was permanent, my sorrowful predicament.

Like a moth to flame I let myself slip away,

Because no one would choose the moth, what else was there to say?
