A Gruvia Enthusiast

or perhaps never bothered to care about her character development or her role in the anime after the "Phantom Arc" Because the audience loves a woman that doesn't always stick to a man, or show love and vulnerability. ( which is understandable, to each their own taste)

The truth is, Juvia never relied on Gray since the beginning,except for when she almost died, but that wasn't her decision, it was HIS.

It was Gray that actually needed her the most. ( When everyone turned his back on him in the Daphne Arc, When he couldn't kill his father in the Tartaros Arc, When she saved him from the water dragon god ect ect)

Of course there is the time where he left for 6 months, that was when Juvia lost all hope, she needed to know if he were safe, but he didn't come to save her, the moment that she heard he was safe, she came to his side,helping him.

In my opinion , and based on my own observations, Juvia's character was never meant to be big as the leading characters ( Laxus,Natsu,Lucy ect..) she, from the beginning, served ( and still serves ) as Gray's love interest, nothing more.

So when I see people complaining that she became worse because of Gray,did not understand the role of her character, she has a potential and Mashima always showed that potential but in a restricted kind of way ( except for the Naval Battle,that was ...unnecessary).

And not only is Juvia a secondary love interest character but she is also used mostly for comedic relief, at least in the beginning. So she was to help Gray become less rigid and less cold to himself and more open to love.

I do hope we get to see a side story of hers or something but I don't care anymore cause I am pretty satisfied with Gruvia and her character, especially with 100YQ.

Gruvia is built around each other,if you really pay attention to their scenes from the moment they met till now, they became each other's anchor.

( and then you got some people still winging about her as if she was real,God help us...)
