Hold her. Kiss her gently. Softly whisper about how much you love her. Take her hand in yours and promise her you’ll never leave her, and mean it. Love her, even when it’s hard, and there will be times when it is. Never waver. Believe in her, because she’s going to believe in everything you do. Be quiet when she needs it, but don’t forget that sometimes she’s going to need you to bring her out of her shell. Cherish her. Protect her. Make her feel safe. Show her why she should believe in love again.

When you’re finally able to say “yes, I still miss him but I don’t want him to come back”, that’s how you know you’re healing. Even if it still hurts sometimes.
