Disgusting.
Humankind is disgusting and wasteful in Yuuka’s eyes. Wasteful. Selfish. Weak. They’re all weak, aren’t they? They require others to fight for them. Others who are stronger. Stronger than their weak and flimsy selves. Of course, back in Gensokyo, only the powerful had subordinates whom would fight to their whim. That’s how society worked. Power. The strongest would be on top. The strongest had all that they wanted. In Hope’s Peak, in a human’s world, the most powerful are the ones at the bottom, being used by the more intellectually skilled.
It’s a pitiful sight, really. The intellectuals are the most twisted, maddened by their own intelligence and wit. Their inability to be satisfied as any normal human would with accomplishments. They wish to achieve more. More and more, stepping on the backs of life as they rise to their own pedestal.
Yuuka found her solace in the wilderness, surrounded by trees and shrubbery, the very things she feels most connected with. She took everything in; the fauna, the flora, the atmosphere, everything. Yuuka Kazami takes in the beauty of nature to rejuvenate herself. The sort of energy she has been deprived of for so long. Her parasol hung over her shoulders, opened, basking in the warm sunlight beaming over a crisp, frosty environment.
Crisp. Crunching.
A disturbance.
The parasol snapped closed, the woman’s body turning on a heel. If the intruder is close by at this point in time, then the very tip of the accessory will be pressed to the other’s neck. As nonthreatening as a parasol can seem, her own is used as a catalyst for a powerful spell. The intruder would feel a warmth resonate from the parasol’s tip; proof that such a catalyst will be put to use if push did come to shove. She will not step down from a fight if a fight is more thoroughly picked.
"It’s impolite to sneak up on a lady." Is she being facetious or sincere? No one can be sure.
Travel was something Dio had grown accustomed to doing. He may have chosen to reside in Egypt, spending most of his days among darkness, reading under dim light. But before then, he was on the move for about a year, meeting a number of stand users--as well as new delicacies for him.
So here he was, roving about, seemingly without a definite purpose, but one question echoed in his mind. In a place like this, if Stand users are normally attracted to one another, what resides in here? What lies in store for him?
And beyond mere coincidence, what is the reason that he encounters this girl in front of him?
Hearing his presence, the girl snapped her parasol shut and now it was being pointed at Dio's neck. Such an action did not phase Dio. He did not fear a fight from any opponent. Except a certain someone that he had yet to encounter, but his fear is one to be conquered, and is when he'll be at the top.
But there was something different--Dio felt warmth coming from that tip at his neck. It was no Ripple, either; another, unknown power lied dormant in this girl, whose eyes appeared menacing. It was powerful, too, but not more powerful than him, he felt.
In his response, Dio's lips curled into a smile. All was proof that she was much more than mere food for him, for she held something different in her, different from any power that he had encountered before. It made him intrigued, he wanted to witness that power. Not against her but with her at his side.
It was surely gravity that brought him to her.
"It was never my intent to sneak. More to get a better look at the beauty of the lady I've found before me." While he spoke, Dio was tilting his head back to give her a more open space at the neck for her parasol, almost... testing her hostility. The vampire was inviting her to hurt him if she so dared.
"But it looks like you've already given me far more than that pleasure."
