Hi so we got this new baby. He’s a super pastel leopard ball python and we still haven’t figured out what his name should be. I thought Leo might be good but something isn’t quite right.

A Moment to Rest

The red string is a reference to a Chinese legend, ‘the red thread of fate’. Though the original is about the fated connection between soulmates, I loved this idea of us being connected to a fate through this unbreakable string. So that no matter how many times the thread gets tangled or how many times we trip over, we’re still on the same journey to that same end. 

In other words: even though shit happens along the way, things will work out the way they’re meant to be.

We met on Instagram, approximately 6 yrs ago?— No, it’s not one of those “Hey babe, you cute” + “You cute too, where ya at doe” kinda vain shit.

If you followed me on my original instagram (@mtokidoki), you may remember how my insta had a thing where people could email or come talk to me to vent about whatever issue they had at that time. I had many lovely followers message/email me & I believe he was one of them. He had such charming personality & we ended up being great friends online. I’d vent to him about whatever issue I had at the time, including the problems my ex and I had, etc. He’d vent about whatever he was stressing on, including issues with his gf at the time as well. We were legit, friends.

Even if I was gone for a while (since I deleted 3 ig accounts before and deactivated my facebook plenty times), I’d come back and he’d be there. If he didn’t find me, I’d find him. We’d go right back to talking, venting, advising, all that - as if I was never gone. I never once felt a gap. Like, we missed each other, but once we talk again, it’s like we’re back home. We had each other’s back from day 1 and that’s just how it’s always been.

I think that strong friendship we built, really helped with this relationship we now have, since… I know him. I know who he is. He’s the most amazing person I know. I can’t think of a single flaw - not now, not before. He’s kind, gentle, wise, reliable, trustworthy, honest, sincere, funny, etc. He’s so self reflective. I can’t recall him ever blaming people (even when he has all the rights to), he’s always been about “What did I do wrong”, like.. It’s not fake kindness, he truly has a beautiful soul and I trust him, completely. Therefore, I have no doubts, no insecurities, none of that questioning bs (which tends to happen with me because I have major trust issues). Trust is the number one most important thing I look for in a person, in order to have any type of relationship… I have that with him, and it feels amazing.

He’s handsome af too, but that’s a bonus. Looks fade as we grow older. What’s left with us is inner beauty, and my gosh, he truly is beautiful.

But yeah, that’s basically how we met and briefly how this was able to happen.
