Malahide? (Dublin, Ireland) - September 2019
Can't remember exactly where these were taken, but wherever it was, twas a nice day out - found the doll on the beach (I originally thought it was Father Ted and still refuse to believe otherwise), so we brought him along on the walk and made sure to chronicle his (naked) misadventures ...

Paris and Luxembourg - April 2019
Just some photos I came across from a trip I took to visit a friend in Paris; it turned out to be cheaper to go to Luxembourg for the afternoon and fly home via Edinburgh, so who was I to say no to an adventure? 😉
Just some photos I found from a trip to Kerry, Ireland, I took in June 2019. The first one is from Valencia island, the second is from a viewpoint along the Ring of Kerry, and the third was in Killarney National Park 😁
Rome (January 2020)
We only had one day in Rome, so we got up early to try to fit as much as we could in. We started off at the Vatican, climbing up the Bascilica (530-something steps 'cause we were too cheap to pay an extra 2e, which we sorely regretted 5 minutes later) and looking out over Rome.
We passed by Santa's Castle (for some reason, I couldn't ever remember its proper name xD) and stopped for some pastries in a little cafe - I had a dark chocolate cake thing that was so richly divine - and definitely used up all the calories we'd burnt off climbing the steps, and then some!
Next, we headed to somewhere on my friend's bucket list - the Colosseum. (Little note to all EU citizens under 25 - you can get in for 2e as opposed to 16e, if you show your passport!) I'd been several years before and it was just as I remembered (just less crowded and stifling hot), and my friend enjoyed it immensely!
Afterwards, we wandered in the direction of the Spanish Steps, passing by the Circus Maximus, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain (there was a lovely ice-cream shop nearby) and several other amazing sites along the way.
Before heading for the airport, we made sure to get our fill of Italian cuisine - we picked a restaurant at random and it was the best decision because the man who ran it (SuperMario the Gladiator ♥️) was the quintessential Italian restauranteur and the sweetest man to walk this Earth (don't try to fight me on that). When he found out we were Irish, he told us about his family coming from Ireland, his love of Bruce Springsteen, and gave us free dessert (more chocolate!).
It was the perfect way to end an amazing trip!
Pompeii and Naples (January 2020)
Another friend met us in Rome, so we took a bus ride to Pompeii to visit the ruins. It was another nice day weather-wise, with very few crowds and a lovely clear blue sky.
The site was a lot more expansive than I thought it was, so we didn't get to see even half of it, but what we did see was incredible - the crumbling stone walls somehow still standing; cobbled pathways leading to streets once alive with markets and the hustlebustle of daily life - all the while, Mt Vesuvius loomed in the background, looking so serene against the blue sky, yet eerie all the while ... *end of my cringey attempt to get back into writing*
We got some ice-cream before heading into Naples on the train. We spent a few hours there, wandering around in search of pizza - which was amazing and worth almost getting knocked over dozens of times - and coming across a castle in the process.
All in all, not a bad day ;)

Day 3 in Athens (January 2020)
We checked out of the hostel in the morning, making sure to represent the Irish accordingly first!
We had an evening flight to Rome, so we spent the day exploring the nearby beaches and visiting some of the other sites. I needed to conserve my phone's charge for my boarding pass, so I didn't take many photos or get to use Google Maps as much as usual, so you can be assured that we mostly definitely got lost and ended up having to ask some gladiators for directions ... xD
Day 2 in Athens (January 2020) - The Temple of Poseidon and Olympic Stadium
We took a 2-hour bus ride from Athens to the Temple and the scenery was amazing! The weather was lovely (bascially an Irish summer) and the whole experience was just phenomenal. We met two American girls at the Temple and we got to talking about Harry Potter because I was wearing a Hogwarts t-shirt :D
Day 1 in Athens (January 2020)
Two of my friends flew home whilst myself and another flew to Athens the next morning. We had an early morning flight, so we caught the sunrise and other amazing views xD
We spent the first day in Athens roaming around the city - we climbed up the Acropolis and Mt Lycabettus/Lettuce (so many stairs), catching the sunset at the latter. Of course, my phone's storage decided to be completely full, so I missed the exact moment the sun set on camera, so looks like I'll have to return sometime in the future - woe is me ... ;)
Vienna at night (January 2020)
We arrived into Vienna at around 530pm. It was starting to get dark, so we wandered around and came across this cathedral and loads of other amazing sights.
Bratislava (January 2020)
The next day, we took another bus from Prague to Bratislava, where my friend was flying in to meet us. We wandered around the city for a few hours, stopping for souvenirs and photos along the way.

Some friends and I took a trip over the Christmas break: Vienna - Prague - Bratislava - Vienna - Athens - Rome :D
Prague (January 2020)
We flew into Vienna late in the evening, so I've no photos from the first night. We took a 4-hour bus ride to Prague to visit a friend on Erasmus - she showed us around the city and we found a lovely English bookshop near the Castle!
