Paintbrush gijinkas mostly portray PB as a black diva with heavenly curls or heavenly afro curly hair and puffs and everything you can imagine. And I LOVE IT, DUDE THEY RULE IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE??? HOW CAN THEY PULL THAT OFF. Only problem is... on the II website with the character bios and on the II wiki (where I based myself up since I can't find the character bios anywhere else) says that Paintbrush likes their bristles straight and smooth.

According to their website bio, Paintbrush is very particular about their bristles, preferring to keep them straight and smooth.

Not curly. Not on those many beautiful hairstyles. Straight and smooth. Can we actually talk about that.

PB could have straightened their hair on the design. Or smth. But if you go with certain details of the canon it's not curly. At all.

Idek it just bothers me a little that people forget Paintbrush's love and passion for their straight hair. Like did you see how mad they got when their bristles got dirty with ice cream on III? Ngl you have to keep consideration of what canonbrush would like. For example Paintbrush clocks in as a theater kid on their EXIT interview. Paintbrush also likes to make scrambled eggs and make them a little pancakey. Paintbrush has many strategies to calm themself down when they're feeling mad, one of them being painting. These 3 aren't related to their appearance but can we talk about the little details.

The fact they'd prefer scrambled eggs over boiled eggs. The fact that they'd rather have their hair straight and smooth instead of curly in any situation but are okay with dyeing their hair and would probably dye it pink if they ever did. The fact that if they chose chocolate over strawberry you knew something was up. These little details make characters more unique. Can we talk about that.

And yet you seem to only focus on the stereotypical details. And yet you seem to only focus on their anger. On their protectiveness. But why don't you think about the way they treat Baxter, for example? Paintbrush is protective of Baxter. You could say they're just as particular to take care of Baxter than to take care of their hair. Their bristles.

And yet you don't seem to care.

Can we talk about Paintbrush? No, not that. Not the superficial Paintbrush. Can we talk about the true Paintbrush? If you're going to draw them human, write them like a human, make them behave like a human.
