“Well, do you have an iPhone? Just google it and have it direct you there.” Sawyer suggested, smiling at the girl. “Yeah, straight out of Bama… but I went to NYU so I’m a little bit used to this state. Plus my roommate has lived here her whole life.” The blonde extended her hand. “Sawyer, pleasure to meet you.” 

“Yes but it die. I wasn’t able to charge it last night and yeah. That’s cool. I wished I’d visit more often at least I’d be familiar to some streets but I didn’t.” Via chuckled. “Cool name and nice to meet you!”

“Nope, you’re on the right track. I mean, if you were going to keep going the direction you were going, then turn in about two blocks. I think you would have done just fine. Have a little more faith in yourself.” 

“I guess I will and I’ll keep going straight until I find it but thank you. I’m Octavia by the way.”

“Erm– Yeah, sure. Let me get a look at the map because I’ve never heard of that place but then again I’ve fairly new in town. Let’s see, Scratched Records. Scratched records. And we are here, so you would need to go North.” He glanced up from the map, double checking the route with was in front of him and the street signs. “Yeah, you just have to keep on this street for about three blocks according to this. You weren’t too off.”

“Well is nice to know I’m not the only new person around here. Here, I think this map is old but I think it could work.” She smile handing him the map. “North as in which way?” She looked around them as if that could answer her question. “Thank god. I seriously thought I was in the other side of the world. I really suck with maps.”

“Thanks that would be wonderful. Is it far from here?”

“You’re basically judging a book by it’s cover. I have a job interview.”

“Don’t worry about it, dude - I know what it’s like to be new. I’m actually headed that way - I can take you, if you like.” 

“You are? Because I hope I get use to this place soon. That would be great.”

“Google Maps is your friend. But, I do, and conveniently, I’m heading there myself. Needed to see if I could find a Madonna vinyl I don’t already own.”

“My phone died, so I had to buy this. It was my last option, even when I sucked. You are? I bet you will, I heard it’s one of the best vinyl places on town.”

“I think I got it… This is why they shouldn’t invite me to fancy shit.”

“Good, I was about to google a tie knot tutorial. Hey at least you get to dress nicely for a night.”

“No problem!” Damon took a peak at the map in her hands. “Okay, so, we’re right about here and Scratched Records is about a block away.” He pointed to its location on the map. “I could walk you there if you want?”

“Oh I thought I was further, to be honest I don’t know how I got here.” She smiled excitedly. “Yeah if you don’t mind. I’d be so thankful.”

“Yeah, sure— Oh that map looks pretty bad. Where did you get it? Anyway, it’s in Westbrook which is where I’m heading right now. If you want to come along, feel free.”

“I got it in a store. It was the last one they had, apparently people don’t use maps anymore and my phone died. Today is just not my day. You don’t mind? Because it would be great. Is it far from here?”

“That’s what I keep hearing. Sucks for the turtle though. Having to carry that thing around all the time.”

“Well it’s also their house, do they don’t have to worry like other animals in finding or building a house. Like when it’s raining they just go inside an boom save while a lot of birds get killed because of heavy storm rains.”

“Yeah, no problem. You’re actually almost there. Two more right turns and you would have made it.” 

“Really? I guess I’m not as bad as thought. Which way from here?” She looked around, everything looked the same, or she was still so unfamiliar with this place.

“It’s just two blocks away from here. Do you want me to walk you there?”

“It is? Would you mind? I would owe you a big one.”

“I practically live there, so yeah,” he said with a shrug as he looked at the stranger. “You’re really close, actually.” he pointed down the street. “That way. I’m heading there, though, so…I guess you can follow?”

“You do?” Octavia asked overly excited. “I am? Yes, please if you mind a stranger following you that is.”

“I know, who even uses maps now? But my phone died and I had no other option. I suck with maps. I got it from this store, like a block from here. It is? I’m save thank you so much, which way is it?”

Whoa, that map looks super old. It’s in Westbrook, so along the street and then you literally just keep heading up. 

“I know. My phone died so I had to buy one and they only had this left. Who even uses maps now? Thank you. So I go which way?”

“Scratched Records? Never heard of it… I mean, I’ve only been here a couple weeks.”

“That sucks, I hope I’m not as far as I think I am. So you just moved in too? I’m Octavia by the way.”
