Ask policy: keep it PG-13, swearing is perfectly fine and accepted. If you want to do role-playing/scenic asks, be aware that it might not go as you plan. I won’t outright ban flirty asks because I know this fandom but remember that Popee is 18, and while he has no age Kedamono acts around the same age as Popee. If you flirt, keep it silly and cute, kapiche?

To explain, Fliqpy is a alter personality (dissociative part) with his own identity. His logic, goals, will, memory, and perceptual patterns differ from Flippy's. At the moment of a trigger, a dissociative switching occurs between the personality parts. This suppresses Flippy (he essentially "falls asleep" or recedes into the subconscious), while control over the body passes to Fliqpy (fronting).

Fliqpy is a protector-alter,the ideal soldier. Fliqpy typically perceives civilians as enemies, and his goal is to protect the system from them,by any means.

Possibly,he even perceives Flippy himself as a threat. (hence the whole episode in happy tree friends where they "fight eachother".)

Flippy's amnesia after the 'episode' is a result of the grid dissociative barrier (an amnesic wall) that separates the memory pools of the different alters (Flippy and Fliqpy). The memories are preserved, but they are inaccessible to the alter that was not fronting at the time. Fliqpy does not remember Flippy's peaceful routine, and Flippy does not remember Fliqpy's violent episodes.

I will also provide my thanks to the psyche wiz @itskindafunky for helping me out a little here (thanks pookie/silly), but the root of this disorder was kind of established when flippy was younger, due to the traumas of the militaristic way he was raised (cPTSD). Fliqpy had always "been there" in Flippy's subconscious,appearing whenever he's being threatened/forced to do certain things, he just never really developed into a second person fully until the traumatic event that was the doom war (PTSD).

to make it clear this is NOT the best example of DID and i would not suggest using this as a base to sum up DID as a whole (lots of people have different experiences with it!), but i just did the best with the resources i could and the knowledge i have on said topic + the behaviors we've seen from Flippy and Fliqpy.
