Your name: submit What is this?
Dating Jughead Jones was not an easy feat to do. Jughead was a lone wolf, being alone was synonymous to a guy like him. Anyone would know that there was no changing that. Of course that didnât stop you for liking him. There was something about that mysterious black haired male and you being you; you had to figure it out. Your romance together was filled with fire and when that flame went out it left you both cold inside.Â
Your love was a fickle thing. While both of you liked, loved, each other so much, there were a lot of issues. Alone, you to were perfect; things were smooth but get in the eye of any other things changed. You see, Jughead isnât one for PDA; not even hand holding. You werenât one for PDA either, but you did like to hold hands. You had always felt as though Jughead was ashamed to be dating you. Heâd always deny it but the words never did anything to help calm you down. The two of you had then agreed that you were best off just as friends, The both of you thought that would be enough, even with the truest of love, at least being in each otherâs life as friends would be enough.
Well, time came and went and you two hanging around each other got scarcer and scarcer. You had later found out that your Jughead had started dating Betty Cooper. You were...happy that he started to date again. You wouldnât lie, it hurt and you werenât exactly sure why. You two were not dating anymore, you could barely able to call each other friends but the moment you heard that Jughead and Betty were together, youâre world shattered.Â
It started small, you locking yourself away as soon as you returned from school. stealing bottles of scotch that your guardian had in the cupboards to dull that eerie numb buzzing feeling in your skull. It had gotten to the point when youâd even show up to school drunk; if not you had a massive hang over. Of course your closest friends tries to help you in any way they could but you were stubborn, you didnât think there was anything wrong with you and you couldnât understand why they were so worried. You were fine, well you âfineâ for someone who knew the only guy you could ever be remotely happy with was with another girl.Â
It had been a couple of months since you started to drink; your friends giving up a while back on trying to get you to stop drinking. You were essentially alone in life; a sad thing for a person your age. It had become a custom of yours to sit at the park late at night and swing or just sit there thinking about where you went wrong.  You could pin point it to an exact second and it was when you decided it was time to give up on your relationship with Jughead. Thinking about it now, the two of you hadnât even tried to compromise. You acting like breaking up was the only thing that could happen.
You could close your eyes and remember exactly what happened : You had walked to the Twilight Drive-In movie room to see your boyfriend scribbling away in a note pad while the movie projector sputtered the movie. âJughead, We need to talk.â You had stated as soon as the door had shut behind you. The male in question raised his head, quirking those perfect eyebrows at you. âWell, hello Y/N, nice to see you.â he joked, making you frown. âIâm not joking, Jughead, we need to talk right now. We need to figure out something between us.â you huffed out, placing your hands on your hips. Jughead let out a small breath, nodding his head. âalright, letâs talk.â
You didnât want to finish the memory, already feeling the hot tears run down your face. You let out a huff of breath, rubbing at your face to get rid of the wetness. You rested your face on the cool metal holding the swing up, eyes struggling to focus even on the ground. âY/N? Is that you?â You could hear someone talking in the distance; almost like it was miles away. You blinked rapidly to try and get the blurriness away. âY/N. What are you doing out here?â The voice asked again,Â
Your gaze quickly moved around; then spotting the tall red-headed male as the owner. âOh! Arrrchie! Heyy!â You chirped, jumping up from the swingâ almost falling on your face if it hadnât been for the musician's quick actions.âAre you alright, Y/N?â He asked then, furrowing his eyebrows. âIâm gre-at!â You hiccuped. âI, uh, I just canât go home right now. I left my keys at ho-me and my door is locked.â You replied back, pulling yourself into a straighter position. Of courser that wasnât exactly sure, you just didnât want to your parents to see you drunk and you knew they were home right now.Â
Archie watched you, knowing fulling well you were drunk. Heâd heard rumors of you drinking, but he never thought them to be true. It was crazy to think such an amazing person would resort to drinking. âOh, okay. Did you want to come over to my house? I think itâs suppose to start storming soon and I would feel bad knowing you were stuck out here.â He said, more just wanting to make sure you were safe than anything. You giggled, but nodded. âOh, thank you my knight and shining armor!âÂ
The two of you had made it back to his home fairly quickly, and with little injury. Archie had placed you on his bed, saying heâd be right back he just wanted to get you something to drink. With the red head gone, youâre eyes scanned the room. It wasnât like what you remembered. You guessed Archie was older and wouldnât have stupid posters of cars and trucks anymore. You sighed, laying back and closing your eyes. What you wouldnât give to go back in time and change everything that had happened.Â
You could slightly hear Archie pacing just outside the door, talking rapidly to someone on the phone. You were much to tired to really pay attention. All you wanted to do was sleep; You were passed the jittery part of you being drunk, now just overwhelmed with needing rest. You sighed, rolling on your side and allowing your eyes to close. Just as you did that, Archie opened the door, but you were much to tired to even think of greeting him once again.
You werenât exactly sure how long youâd been sleeping, but you were jostled awake when someone swung open Archieâs bedroom door. âArchie! Wh-â the voice stopped and you finally popped open your eyes; glaring that the person who swung open the door. Your eyes widened at the male who stood there. Jughead Jones himself, looking like he just ran the whole South Side just to get here. You could see him relax a bit and you began to wonder what he was even doing here. You slowly looked over at Archie with a confused face. âHey There, Y/N.â Jughead said, gaining your attention once again. âHey, Jug.â you murmured, pulling lightly at your top. Archie cleared his throat, walking towards the door. âIâll be downstairs; I bet you two have a lot to talk about.â he said, leaving the two of your alone.
You found yourself unable to even look in Jugheadâs direction. You never thought that youâd be in this predicament. Somewhere inside you knew something like this would happen; whither it be your actual parents or Jughead. You werenât sure who you were more scared of finding out. âY/N...â Jughead said slowly, you slowly looking up at him. To your surprise, you didnât see any anger in those beautiful eyes; only sadness but that might as well been a stab in the heart.Â
You got to your feet slowly, brushing wrinkling from your close. âI donât know why Archie called you. Iâm perfectly fine.â You said, shaking your head slightly. âY/N, you know that isnât true. Why donât you let m-someone help.â Jughead replied back. You groaned, shaking your head. âI donât have a problem. I donât understand why everyone thinks that!â You snapped, crossing your arms over your chest. Jughead rolled his eyes, âThat just shows you do, Y/N. Please. Just let us help you.â He said, voice showing just how desperate he felt.
You were quiet, closing your eyes tightly. âJust..leave me alone Jughead. Go back to Betty Cooper. You should be with her and not worrying about me.â You grumbled back. Jughead let out a large groan, crossing the room and grabbing you lightly by the shoulders; making you look him in the eyes. âY/N, this isnât about Betty. This is about you. Iâm worried about you! If you keep drinking like this something horrible is going to happen to you. I donât what what I would do if..â he stopped, frowning and looking down. âI donât know what I would do if something happened to you.â Jughead mumbled.Â
You were surprised by his words. After months of him not talking to you, you figured heâd just forgotten about you. You thought that whatever you did to yourself wouldnât matter to him because who would it? He was dating Betty after all. But the look of hurt on his face, the sound of devastation in his tone made you realize otherwise. Tears formed in your eyes, letting out a shaky breath. âIâm so sorry Juggie. I just..I donât know what to do. Everything hurts so much.â You whispered, closing your eyes in hopes to stop the tears. You could feel Jughead shake his head, bringing you in close for a hug; which you sagged into, an aweful sob escaping your lips. You could feel him place a small kiss on your head. âDonât worry, Y/N. We will help you. I will help you.â
