“Oh God, I am so stuffed.” Kendall said with a laugh as he looked at the person he had gone out to lunch with. “What should we do now? Go back to the resort and sleep this food off or walk it off?” @acfstarterblog​

(¸.• ♛ → “i like the idea of walking it off.” she commented. emma wasn’t someone that do sports, she was bad at that but walking after having a meal it was perfect. “i really need that.”

“So now that Mardi Gras is over, what’s everyone doing with their beads?” @acfstarterblog​

“Well, we’ll both just have to live with the fact we’re always going to worry about each other.” Lena replied with a small smile, before raising her glass to clink against Sam’s at the slightly unorthodox toast. “We really need happier things to toast to than the fact one of us didn’t die.” She pointed out with a grim chuckle.

“that’s true.” she says with a small smile, now when they make that small toast, sam had a sip from her drink now looking at her friend. “true, we need to make more things and have more memories so we can actually have that, how about...we can toast about the fact that now i can use my powers for good? i think that’s good news.”

“Who, me?” Winn held out his hands and took a step back, his grin wide. “I’m always good.”

“yeah, well, i’m glad.” she says with a small smile looking at him. “i was worried about you because that question was just strange so i had to ask.”

Winn returned Sam’s smile, relaxing a little. He was grateful she didn’t press for more answers. “Thanks. I will definitely keep that in mind.”

“good.” she says now with a small smile on her lips looking at the other one. “now are you okay? i hope i was able to help.”

“Yes. Think about like two neighboring states. The climates and culture are different, you know? We didn’t see eye to eye. Krypton had higher standards for certain issues than we did. It caused a lot of conflict..” he cleared his throat awkwardly. “I bet Kara could arrange that for you. Me and her aren’t really on speaking terms and I feel like extends to the man of steel as well.”

the woman now nodded at what he said. “i can understand that, sounds like really a whole....thing there.” for once, she was glad that actually she was raised in this planet and not really in krypton. “that’s okay, and i’m sorry for that, i didn’t know that...but you guys are going to be okay, right?”

“I’m always going to worry - can’t help it.” Lena admitted with a soft sigh. She had always worried that if Sam or Ruby were to get hurt, it would be because of her connection to her - now she had to count in any number of threats, from people finding out who Sam really was to the worst case scenario in which Reign returned. “I wish I could have done something sooner, is all.” She muttered. Though she doubted she could have done anything had she known sooner - the only way in the end had been to use the Harun-El. Had it not been for that… Lena knew she would have been faced with the choice of becoming the person capable of killing one of her closest friends. “But we got through it. That’s what matters now.”

“just like i worry about you, always.” she says with a small smile on her lips now looking at her because at the end, it was true, sam was always going to care for lena, no matter what, it’s always that way. “of course, that’s what matters and everything turned out okay so that’s really good, cheers for that.” the woman said with a small smile, raising a bit the glass, in some kind of toast.

It made total sense. It wasn’t like mothers could just have the answer for anything and everything. They’d be too powerful and the world would be run 100 percent by women. (Not that Winn had any sort of problem with that. A world run by women would be much more efficient than the one they currently lived in, that was for sure.) “Oh, no reason. Really, just like… insanely curious.” And that was a terrible lie, but one he hoped she wouldn’t call him out on. As much as he wanted to confide in her, he had already told too many people about his feelings and really didn’t think it’d be good to tell more.

“Use the light to guide you and to unburden your heels. The moment you let go of all that hate, you’ll be free. Freedom equals power.” Kara mirrored back with an eagerly blossoming grin. 

“Alright, hit me, Sam. Hit me like you mean it.” 

“alright...” she muttered, now looking at the other one. sam was going to try and do exactly what kara was saying. the brunette closed her eyes, trying to just let go from all this darkness or anger that she might feel and then, opened her eyes to look at kara and with a quick move, she now punched her.

Nodding in understanding as Sam spoke about needing to settle in, Ray gave her another small smile. “Well that’s handy, having a friend in the highest place. But I get what you mean about not wanting to take advantage. Its lucky you have such an understanding child.” He felt his phone vibrate in his pocket, signalling that he should be getting back to work. “Sorry, Sam. I need to head back inside. But hopefully I’ll see you around again sometime.”

“Good.” Lena muttered. It had been hard enough, watching Reign taking over Sam’s body, using it but never hurting it. The fear then of losing Sam had nearly caused her to crumple under the weight of it. She didn’t want to relive that fear. “I’m sure you’d be just fine. If not as well paid.” She chuckled, though she shot Sam a grateful smile, the words meaning more to her than the other woman could possibly know. “You don’t need me, Sam - you’re one of the strongest people I know. But you’ll have a hard time getting rid of me.” She promised with a joking smirk.

“you shouldn’t worry about me.” she says now with a small smile looking at the other one, it was really nice to have lena in her life, because she was one of her best friends and she really appreciates her a lot. “in that case, i will save you every single time.” no, sam actually didn’t care about the payment but of course that she was joking about that. “i’m glad to hear that but you are wrong about that, i try to be strong...i have to for ruby. but when the whole reign thing happened, you were always by my side, i’m really grateful about it.”

“Don’t thank me, Sam. You got here all by yourself. We just aided your in transit.” Mon el wicked the sweat off his brow before leaning into one of the iron wrought racks. “I am not the best person to ask considering I am Daxamite. A lot of the history is lost on me but from what I did know it was a peaceful utopia. So peaceful that they hated us,” he chuckled. Looking back, he knew his family’s rule of Daxam wasn’t all that just; even down right insufferably bigoted. “Sounds about right and Kara’s cousin, Superman.” 

“oh, well, that i didn’t know. so daxam is another planet, right? they hated all of you? now that’s...well, i guess in your case your planet was not that peaceful?” she would be lying if she says that she wasn’t intrigue about all of this because yeah, she actually was. “superman, of course, almost forgot, i can’t believe he is her cousin, i wish i could meet superman one of this days, i’ve heard a lot about him when we were in national city.”

“I’m sure Ruby would be ecstatic at the idea of her mother becoming a superhero, but I personally like the idea of not having to worry about you going out to pick fights.” Lena mused with a strained chuckle. Reign had been nearly invincible, she had even showed a heightened resistance to kryptonite compared to other Kryptonians. But they couldn’t know that Sam would have the same level of power without the darker side of her abilities present. Lena would rather they didn’t have to find out the hard way. “Yeah, I know.” She muttered with a sigh, taking Sam’s hand in her own and giving it a small squeeze. “I promise I’m going to do everything I can to make sure people like that never come near you or Ruby. No matter what.” She swore. Sam wasn’t the only one who would go to great lengths to protect the people she loved.

“ruby does like all of that. don’t worry about that, i’m not that kind of person, besides, if i need to fight it would be just to defend the people that i love.” because that was something that sam would do no matter what. everything was complicated but she was doing her best to do everything in the best way possible. a small smile was on her lips, placing gently a hand on lena’s shoulder. “i know and i appreciate having you around, i don’t know what i would do without lena luthor in my life.” sam said in some playful tone now but it was true, lena was one of her best friends and she was so glad that they were here together.

“Well, hopefully you’ll get time and opportunity to kick the ball around with her here too.” He smiled, “I’m sure once the two of you have settled and work get to know your situation, they’ll let you take time to be with your daughter. Maybe they have flexible hours? I know when I used to run a business I allowed parents flexible working hours.” He allowed himself a moment to imagine being a parent, like Sam. It would be nice, one day. But he didn’t see it happening any time soon. Not while he was a Legend.
