Been listening to this song casually in the background of other songs I liked more from the band. Always was kind of confused by the lyrics and it turns out I'd just been taking the singer as the song's subject. It's not, it's from the POV of a young woman having a hard life and losing her brother. That switch and understanding of the lyrics was a real emotional rush. The song makes me cry now hearing it and has just been on a loop of feeling in my headphones.
