1. The term “proshipper” is more ambiguous than I was aware of.

I introduced the banner specifically because my gifs started getting used in people’s smut fanfiction involving incest and minors. Because of how tumblr works, I was getting a notification every time someone did this. I don’t want to see those kinds of works and it was upsetting to be tagged in them. The people who were doing this would self identify as “proshippers,” therefore I came to understand the term to mean “people who create works relating to incest/underage sexual content.” I didn’t want to keep getting tagged by these people, so along with blocking as many as I could, I added the banner as a way to hopefully deter being tagged by this.

However, I’ve come to see people identifying “proshipping” with any sort of ship they regard as “problematic”, with the parameters of what they consider “problematic” to be extremely vague and all over the place. Like I’ve seen people labeling shipping characters who had an argument one time as proshipping and I think that’s pretty ridiculous.

2. I don’t care at all about shipping discourse, and labeling myself with a “side” promotes the idea that I’m open for debate about it.

I’ve gotten a fair amount of anon hate with vague sentiments like “you anti scum!!!” While I delete all asks I get relating to this (All of them are just looking to pick a fight over nothing and not worth responding to), getting them is still annoying. This is a blog for me arranging gifs in a square. I literally could not care less and would like to keep this blog discourse-free.

3. I want to add themed dividers instead, and tumblr mobile has a 10 image limit.

While my beautiful frightened white woman has served me well and I love her dearly, I think adding themed dividers would be a fun additional customization piece to boards.

4. Everything else in my DNI is basic human decency and doesn’t need to be stated.

No one looks at a DNI that says “racists dni!!” and goes “oh darn, I’M racist!! I better not interact!!” We are on Tumblr dot com wokeville. The majority of people here are not ableists/homophobes/transphobes/whatever else I put on there, and if they ARE they’re not doing it to a degree where they self identify with the term. I made “proshippers DNI” in bigger text than the rest for this reason, I rarely read giant paragraphs of DNIs, and the people who were tagging me in smut stuff were the ones I was trying to deter.
