Animus and her bro Esperada watch Digimon Frontier for the first time. This time we’re tackling episode 39: “Is This the Digital World!? Escape From the Moon!“

- The episode opens in a barren land what seems to be the middle of the night, and Koichi is the first of the team to wake up, all the while an instrumental version of his theme song plays.

- Animus: They really like to play Koichi’s theme.   Esperada: That’s because it’s hipster bullshit.

- Animus: “When I say ‘tend to them’, I mean you guys should tend to the others while I tend to Koji.”   Esperada: “And when I say 'tend’, I mostly mean staring at him.”

- Actually, Koichi doesn’t do much staring either, as he climbs out of the hole the group is in (well, more like vaguely floats because the gravity is screwy) and runs into some locals.

- Helpfully, the Starmon give the kids medical treatment and a ride to the nearest inhabited area. - The Starmon also tell Koichi than the kids are now on one of the Digital World’s three moons.

- Animus: I really don’t think a cold compress to the forehead is going to help when they’ve been BLOWN TO THE MOON.   Esperada: It’s anime medicine, it works on everything!

[The Digital World]
