I Take The Stand

He showed us that despite the divisive racial oppression and hardships that his nation had gone through, it is not only possible, but necessary to embrace one another and to reconcile the South African people.

Brilliant and powerful,

Yet so vulnerable is the whale.

In this everlasting ocean of pollution,

Their great lives become so frail.

Once a home in which they ruled,

They succumb to waves of plastic.

The deep becoming a prison,

Stakes on their lives drastic.

Gradually they wash up,

Wastelands forcing a demised motion.

Rulers of an acidified paradise,

Death chases them from the ocean.

Brilliant and powerful,

Yet exposed to the pollution;

These whales will waste away,

Today marks a year since the horrifying shooting at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando that left 49 people dead. We remember the 49 people who died, the victims and send our love and deepest sympathies to them, Orlando, and the LGBTQ Community. ❤️💛💚💙💜

Taiwan legalises gay marriage. Taiwan the first Asian country to legalise gay marriage takes a step forward in acceptance of one another. Most countries are stuck in a traditionalistic mindset choosing not to see the realities of the western world. We are proud of Taiwan for spreading happiness.

Dreamful faces Born into a black or white world, Treated unfair caged like a bird Frowned upon by society As if their very existence is a sin But they never drew their lines with freedom and equality Hope lived! What is to come? Thought all were free Beaten bloody black bodies, broken banished Yet he had a dream To never see black lives splatter March against fear, black pride no room for racism. They had a dream To seek world’s colour system, Crimes steady happening along with police brutality They wanted peace so they stand together Showing born stades last forever. Leaving behind nights of terror and fear Wanting no sympathy display Gathering their courage and choosing a direction, That carries them towards a new dawn into a black and white world. – S.P
