Response to quite a few problems (and responses) I've seen on here (none in particular), this probably counts as its own...

I really gotta stop reading this blog. There is way too much "proshipper" VS "antishipper" "discourse" on here for my mental wellbeing, and the way a lot of these people want to "claim" those who set a boundary by saying they do not wish to be claimed by either faction for different reasons is, in my opinion, violating.

Personally, I feel like both sides oversimplify very complex issues, both sides employ populism and absolutist thinking, and both sides turn to complete assholery. Like, y'all are insane, please calm the fuck down and touch grass or something.

There is a character that I really love, who had an extremely traumatic childhood. Which in canon caused the character to be heavily traumatised as an adult, and to be paranoid and easy to lash out due to a lack of any kind of help. They are a very complicated character who does some bad things due to their trauma, but they also constantly try to do a lot of good and be a better person even if repeatedly no one gives them a chance.

Now I really like to explore how things would be if they weren't suffering from trauma and what kind of person they would be. Like if they never had to suffer from severe abuse as a child to begin with or if they lived in a modern AU with access to mental health care and therapy. Thus were I concentrate on the good they always try to do and how their lack of paranoia and fear might help build positive relationships with others.

And I kid you not, every time I make content about such AUs there will be some hater who goes "but that character has done XYZ bad things and you are woobifying them!"
