“It’s not your fault you’re weak, Roman” “I’m not weak!”

Roman: Well that’s gay.

Good, he seemed that he was okay. Yet Barry had a sinking suspicion that the guy was just being polite. The smile on his face softened. Why was that everyone seemed to give Peter a hard time? He seemed like a decent enough guy. Way too quiet for Barry’s liking though. Maybe with some time, he might come out of his shell? The books were taken and the brunette stood back up. “You’re welcome. I’m sorry. Those guys are assholes.”

 Peter knew his name. Heat rose to his cheeks slightly. “Yeah, I’m Barry. You’re Peter. Yup, we have English together.” Barry extended his hand to make the introduction formal…and he also wanted to see if he could feel anything from the other. The Allen witches had always had a knack for precognition; talents that were actually quite useful when it came to fitting in. “You have any other classes after this? I’m about to head to the cafeteria if you want to grab a bite?”

This guy was way too cute. It was actually really distracting. Peter knew better than to think someone like Barry would ever be romantically interested in him. But for some reason Barry was being nice to him which he appreciated. 

Did Barry hear the rumors that he was a werewolf? Peter didn’t know how the rumors started but they seemed to follow him wherever he went. He denied them easily enough because most people just accepted the idea that werewolves weren’t real. It was just silly gossip that people spread to make him look bad. What it really meant was that they saw someone different than them and that made them afraid. Barry didn’t look afraid at all though.

And once again Peter found himself wondering what exactly Barry was. He looked at his outstretched hand and he accepted the offer, shaking Barry’s hand. Touching him only increased the sense that Barry was not normal. All he could feel was magic and he had no idea what it meant. He didn’t know how to ask about it either.

“No classes,” he answered. “That would be great. Thanks.” He wasn’t actually hungry, too anxious with the approaching full moon. But he wanted a chance to get to know more about Barry.

Thank goodness his classes were over for the day. Barry had planned to head to the student life building and get something to eat before heading back to his dorm room. Homework had to be done before night fell. The coven would be waiting for him then. The moon would be full and his mother insisted he was at every monthly gathering.

Shifting his bag over his shoulder, the young man started to walk away when the new guy was tripped in front of him, Peter was it? Yeah, that was his name. Other students whispered. Apparently, the guy didn’t come from money like most at the college. Barry’s family wasn’t rich but his parents had done well and never asked their son to work, only to focus on his studies.

 A stern look moved over his features towards the group of students responsible and the wind picked up around him. His own gifts were strongly tied to his emotions. Taking a small breath, the wind died down and the male quickly moved to help retrieve the fallen supplies. Kneeling down, he grabbed two of the books and offered it to Peter. “Hey, you okay?”

“Yeah, I’m fine,” Peter said quickly, more embarrassed than anything. He wasn’t hurt and it wasn’t the first time people had ever been rude to him. He just hated that Barry witnessed it and wished he could run away. It didn’t help that the full moon was approaching and it always made him anxious.

Barry was even more handsome close up like this. And he smelled good. He was way too kind, helping him to pick up his books and asking if he was okay. Why was he being so nice to him?

“Thanks, man,” Peter took the books from him and stood up. “You’re uh... Barry, right? We have a class together I think.”

Peter had always had a sensitive swadisthana chakra. He’d thought maybe it was just the approaching full moon, but as he stared at Barry now he was sure there was something else. He could sense it. There was something different about Barry, but he wasn’t sure what. He was sure though that Barry was no ordinary human. His swadisthana chakra was never wrong about these things.
