as someone who is active on crktt, i can NOT tell you just how many times i’ve seen mystic flour being called aroace because of her “apathy.” i’m aro/ace and that genuinely is a harmful stereotype. mystic flour truly isn’t apathetic — she cares so much about other cookies who are suffering from their own grievances, cookies who are crumbling, cookies who cannot eat, anyone but herself. the viewers are meant to dismantle her facade of apathy and realize this, but instead people skip her beast-yeast episode and rely on anything but the actual facts to characterize her. she is able to have connections and is able to crave things for herself, though something tells her she doesn’t deserve it. none of her costumes even represent actual apathy either. morning dew represents her lack of hope in culminating her inherently mixed up ideals, giving up and having to live on forever, knowing she can’t die. and the leavened one focuses in on masking her despair and grief with happiness, but still promoting the same beliefs. aromantic and asexual people being automatically associated with apathy or lack of emotions is a deeply offensive stereotype, and i will not stand to see mystic flour as the face of it.
like, just look at her. she cares about that cakehound, she would never hurt that baby
