flovis:
floris was just sitting & reading while the end of his pen was tucked nicely in between his teeth; his green hues skimming over the words of ernest hemingway’s the garden of eden. this books was one of floris’ favorites & could be seen by anyone who merely glanced at the book: seeing as the book itself had sections that were completely high-lighted. or maybe it was the fact that sticky-notes with tiny bits of scribbles were littering the mass majority of the pages. there were so many corners folded down too that the book in floris’ hands probably looked DESTROYED. but even though there were obstacles of paper & color covering the words, flo was reading & grasping onto each & every word. the only way for his thought to be interrupted was when he read over, one of his many, favorite passages. “ ‘ happiness in intelligent people is the rarest thing i know ’ is something that hemingway said & i cannot agree more. for some people it’s the hardest thing in the world to grasp onto & sometimes it’s sad when people come to this realization because they themselves don’t like the outcome they get. i guess it’s true when people say you can’t have everything. ” leave it to a classic book to bring out floris’ talkative side.
“ that’s true. ” isobella mused, sighing as she flipped the page of her journal & continued to write. “ it’s quite interesting though. ” the female adds, looking up from her current activity to look at the male, “ a lot of people think those of our status have everything there is. but when you look at it, we don’t. ” the scottish princess purses her lips, closing her beloved journal for the meantime, pen tucked between the pages as she lays the book down upon her lap. her mind momentarily reminisces about the various talks she’s had with a fair few royals of her status, memories going back to times where they all talked about how being of royalty wasn’t all that it was thought out to be. all the trials, the hardships, the SACRIFICES. of course there were perks, one could never forget such GLORIOUS things ; but when you get down to it, being a royal also meant confinement. confined in a sense that you aren’t granted the privilege to be open & free with your decisions, your wants, your needs. being a royal meant that you have a RESPONSIBILITY to your people, to your COUNTRY. “ but i agree with you though. not everyone can have everything. ”
