The Moral Compass

Nanami was quiet for a few moments before she started to reform again, her over-sized sleeves were covering her face, her pink eyes peeking ever so lightly over the dark teal cloth. “A-Are you sure..?”

"Yes, I'm positive!" Kiyotaka insisted. He looked directly into Nanami's eyes, and his mind began to wander off. It was difficult to focus on anything specifically when she was looking at him.

“Please, don’t cry! Everything will be alright!” He reassured her. He didn’t want her spirits to be low. It was natural to think about your lifetime. In their cases, they’d outlive their friends. It was horrible, but they had to get over it together.

With one hand, she wiped at her eyes, which were a bit puffy and green from her brief moment of crying.  Although his words were comforting, it still didn’t stop her from thinking of her human friends and how short their lives were compared to her’s and Ishimaru’s. “Well, even if that is the case, at least i’ll still have mew. One furriend is better than having none at pawll.” 

"That's the spirit! We will push forward, as friends!" Ishimaru declared. He tried to keep a vigorous tone in his voice in order to motivate his friend. It was not good to dwell on the negative aspects of life, and the fairy hated seeing his friends in misery. No matter what. they all had to stay positive.
