The Only Thing We Have to Fear..

It annoys me that Trump’s words during the campaign is brushed aside as rhetoric by parts of the media. Consequently, racism and misogyny are now orthodoxy. He may justify this to himself and beyond, by saying ‘I won’, but hundreds of millions see him as anything but a winner. I am annoyed that Peter Thiel is being lauded as a modern day philosopher for his disingenuous observation that Trump’s supporters looked beyond the words. Hundreds of incidents and tens of thousands of immigrants around the country would beg to disagree with him. How has it come to be that a new Presidency evokes such fear? It annoys me that he could mock disabled people openly on an international platform. This now becomes ok. It annoys me that he can boast about sexual assault and that is ok too. It annoys me that people think him being good for the economy makes all of this acceptable. It annoys me that people find solace in the positive response of the Dow Jones, as if greed will ever supersede vitriol in any decent society. Although that particular veil slipped off on November 8.
