i called my allergist crying because it hurt so bad and they did an EKG and chest x-ray and just said that i pulled a muscle but i can go to the ER and have another doctor look at me. when i got there, i ended up having the worst experience of my life that i have ever had in the emergency room. the doctor didn’t look at my chart or past medical history, said it was suspicious that i was allergic to the non addictive pain medication and just thought i was drug seeking. i was very obviously in pain and ended up just leaving with a painkiller prescription and a muscle relaxer prescription. i had a day off, worked one day and than ended up returning to the emergency room on march 23rd. there, they told me that i had pneumonia and they ended up doing a bunch of chest x-rays and EKGs and echos.

what ended up happening was that i was diagnosed with heart failure. my heart wasn’t pumping enough blood to the rest of my body and i wasn’t able to breathe on my own. i had to have a tube put into to help me breathe and i ended up being transferred to northwestern in chicago. i was on a breathing tube for about a day and a half and was put in the critical care unit for almost .... five days?
