So Simone's one night stand is gonna be a 1st year next season... right???
I understand both Simone and Lucas. Lucas feels like he has found his wife. And when Simone told him she loves him he thought she felt the same way. Him being neurodivergent (ADHD) could be a reason why mentally he's thinking about marriage after only dating Simone for a few months. But Simone just wants to date for a while before locking down whose family they are spending holidays with.
Also I totally agree with Simone pointing out Lucas doesn't have to really face any consequences for rash behavior. He even admitted his family always gets him out of trouble. Simone doesn't have that luxury. This program is her second and last chance. She can't follow him into going rogue... she doesn't have Maggie offering her a prestigious residency at a prestigious Chicago hospital after she gets in trouble for doing an unauthorized procedure.
I think Lucas knows Simone is right, but he is still upset about her not wanting to do the couple's match fellowship and spend holidays with his family.
But on the other hand Lucas is in love and he wants to nail down his future with Simone. He may feel that Simone is too cautious and he doesn't want to be in Trey's shoes in 5 years.
With that being said I love this couple and I hope they go the distance. I want to see more of Lucas pulling Simone out of her comfort zone, and Simone bringing Lucas back down to Earth. I want to see Lucas telling Simone she is right once and a while. He doesn't need to always get pissed when she doesn't want to jump off the career cliff with him.
