every time i scroll back into the depths of my tumblr i am reminded of the fact that i used to have real thoughts (as immature as they were) and now i just look at my phone for 10 hours a day lol

one thing that’s been bugging me out for the past year is this whole re-interest in arctic monkeys and it really takes me for a whole trip because do i wanna know has been around since 2013, but somehow got a whole revival moment on tiktok in 2020

i made (yet another) blog: shao-iris.tumblr.com - i am not done with the theme, nor am i sure that i will keep this up (consistency is hard lol), but it is something i am investing in for the time being!!! yay

i went for all of wednesday this week without eating junk food, engaging with social media, talking with friends, or consuming video/audio content (e.g., youtube, podcasts). if you know me, you know that i’m am addicted to my phone and all of these distractions and for the first time in a while, i actually had space to think. not necessarily like deep, amazing thoughts that blew my mind, but i did feel like i had more creativity and originality which is something i’ve always thought i wasn’t naturally good at. goes to show the whole attention economy thing is so real. anyway, i plan on making it a weekly thing and cutting down my  social media time overall. i think that’s part of the reason why i’m coming back on tumblr too to force myself to journal (publicly) more over the next couple of months.

feel very zapped out recently by hanging out with people all the time but also very afraid to spend time alone
