“Oh?” Lorcan’s brows rise at the accusation, resting their chin on their fist, elbow propped up on countertop. “I didn’t think it was secret...” they trail off, wondering just what they were referring to–their vampirism or their long-standing career, both of which that have been in the limelight for some time. “Do you live under a rock?” they tease, lips quirking into a smile. 

“it isn’t, really,” she gives a tiny grimace, sure she’s gone about this wrong ; contessa has met a few vampires in her time but she can’t really say that she’s interacted with enough of them to know how to broach the subject with them. it’s probably different for them all, but lorcan is especially unique in the sense that they’re quite WELL KNOWN - in all ways. “i was trying to be coy on your behalf, which in retrospect... does seem a little silly. i was just sort of curious about the whole... being a vampire thing. how’s that working for you?” 

            𝙖𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙤   𝙙𝙤𝙚𝙨𝙣’𝙩   𝙛𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙚𝙧   𝙛𝙤𝙧   𝙖   moment   as   she   nimbly   dodges   the   various   detritus   littering   the   ground   ,   secure   in   the   knowledge   that   evie   would   not   waste   a   second   helping   either   .   once   she   makes   a   point   of   stepping   over   (   she   was   given   permission   to   ,   after   all   )   ,   she   crouches   beside   the   other   woman   and   makes   no   move   to   reach   towards   any   of   the   items   .   instead   ,   she   props   her   chin   against   her   hand   and   gets   comfortable   watching   her   struggle   for   a   few   moments   .   ❝   i’m   just   curious   ,   ❞   she   begins   ,   the   fingers   on   one   hand   drumming   against   her   jaw   while   the   other   hand   flips   idly   at   a   paintbrush   rolling   near   her   feet   .   ❝   you   are   a   witch   ,   aren’t   you   ?   with   a   wand   and   everything   ?   ❞

“no, please,” dean steps over some stray paintbrushes and turns to face the woman. (he’s grateful, suddenly, that he was looking down when he nearly bumped into her, because it prevented him from slipping on the art supplies the way characters in mariokart slipped on bananas. not that anyone in the wizarding world would know what mariokart was.) “let me help”

“you don’t have to-” she starts, cutting herself off the very moment it becomes obvious that dean - vaguely familiar to her thanks to three broomsticks hogsmeade trips and, you know, war hero fame - will be crouching to help her regardless of the time it takes out of his day. kindness doesn’t cost anything & contessa, despite her thought to object, really does appreciate him for it and tells him, after a moment of silent acceptance, “thank you. you don’t need to worry about being too rough with any of it - i’m only handing most of it into the secondhand store up the alley.” 

The embarrassment of the missing word makes him almost choke, or heave - he can’t tell. He wrote books, good books if he may say himself. How has he fallen off so much? “Not a good enough grasp, it seems.” He rubs his face, making his skin go pink in the process. “Whatever works, I suppose.” He holds out his coffee cup, doing his best to sheepishly smile.

“better than my students,” she reassures him, failing to mention the fact that the majority of them are five years old. tessa responds to his smile with one of her own, taking great care when she refills his cup again not to spill anything on any of the papers that litter his table. “careful with the cup. it’s hot,” she warns, and then because she’s done plenty of actual work and feels she’s owed it, her nosiness gets the better of her, “you’re taking this really seriously, huh ? you... writing a book or something ?”

3. WHAT ARE THEIR FAVORITE FABRICS? LEAST FAVORITE?  :  she loves like ... linen and denim, but is not actually that big a fan of cotton and REALLY does not enjoy sherpa wool. 

6. WHAT DOES THEIR SWEAT SMELL LIKE?  :  i hate this question<3 sweat. 

9. DOES YOUR MUSE USUALLY CARRY AROUND A BAG / PURSE / BACKPACK? OR DO THEY PREFER TO KEEP ONLY WHAT THEY CAN FIT IN THEIR POCKETS?  :  she would rather carry around just what she can fit into her pockets, but since she’s always on the go, she’s had to get used to carrying around a tote bag, at the very least. hers is pretty faded but used to have a sunburst painted on the side. 

12. DO THEY HAVE ANY SENSITIVITIES TO TASTES?  :  no, she does not ! 

15. WHAT IS THEIR FAVORITE GENRE OF MUSIC? :  she most prefers soft rock ( fleetwood mac ) and country ( dolly parton ), but very, very broadly, she likes most music that came before the 90s. 

🔙 WOULD MY MUSE TRAVEL BACK IN TIME IF POSSIBLE? IS THERE A SPECIFIC REASON?  :  no ! from either standpoint that this could be taken - the desire to see or experience a world event / talk to an historical figure and the idea of going back in time to change something of the past, personal or otherwise - i don’t think that the idea really appeals to her. she lives in the now, and she doesn’t feel the need to stop doing that. 

🥶 DOES MY MUSE GET COLD EASILY?  :  no ! tess generally runs quite hot, leading to her choosing a lot of interesting outfits during a typical, english winter. 

👍 IS MY MUSE AN OPTIMIST?  :  yes, i think that would be accurate ! i don’t think that she’s, like... delusional ? i don’t think that she thinks the world is perfect, and in fact i think she probably knows it’s not, but she does believe that with a lot of work it might just be perfectible. she tends to look on the ‘bright side’ and for the silver lining wherever possible - definitely a half glass full, not half empty kinda person.

🏩 HOW DOES MY MUSE HANDLE PAIN? DO THEY VOCALISE THEIR DISCOMFORT ( VERBALLY OR THROUGH SOUND ) OR DO THEY TRY TO “SUCK IT UP” AND GET THROUGH IT QUIETLY? DOES IT DEPEND ON THE TYPE OF PAIN?  :  i think yes, it definitely does depend on the type of pain. she’s human<3 she’s also not as experienced as most other characters here are with the dark side of war and life itself, so i don’t think she’s ever learned to compartmentalise these things. not everything needs to be a huge deal, and tess is perfectly capable of ‘sucking it up’ when it comes to things like a skinned knee or a papercut, but i think she’s also perfectly okay with announcing when she’s really hurting. 

🎃 DOES MY MUSE CELEBRATE HOLIDAYS? WHY OR WHY NOT?  :  she does, but that’s mainly because there’s always a gimmick to lean on at the three broomsticks ! if tess had her own way, she’d probably only properly celebrate her favorite one ( christmas ) because of like. geneal disinteret in the rest of ‘em, but since she’s never not worked at the bar, she’s always felt pressured to make a big deal out of the others. 

🧠 WOULD MY MUSE SAY THEY ARE INTELLIGENT? HOW DOES MY MUSE FEEL ABOUT INTELLECTUAL TYPES?  :  i don’t think tessa would say that she’s intelligent and neither would i, but i think we’re both in agreement that just because she’s not traditionally intelligent doesn’t mean she’s not very much so in other areas. she’s like. wise. which is different i think ! and quite worldly ! i think intellectuals who consider themselves so and make it a major point of their being intimidate her and kinda bug her, but i don’t think she has exceptionally strong feelings there. 

😭 HOW DOES MY MUSE COPE WITH SADNESS?  :  she tries as much as possible not to dwell on that feeling, when it comes, but i think overall it depends on the source of it. some stuff is easier. 

👶 DOES MY MUSE WANT CHILDREN? IF SO, HOW MANY? DOES IT MATTER IF THE KIDS ARE BIOLOGICAL OR ADOPTED?  :  tess does want - and has always wanted - children, and her ideal number is two. the fact that she’s yet to settle down and or do the family thing is actually a source of like ... sadness seems a strong word, but it’s the only one i can think of - for her, but she’s also the sort of person to comfort herself with the idea that like. when it’s meant to be, it’ll be. it does not matter to her what the children are, and she has in fact floated the idea of fostering several times<3 

🙅‍♀️ IS MY MUSE CLOSED OFF OR GUARDED? IS THERE A REASON WHY?  :  she is, in fact, the exact opposite. despite enough life experience to justify being both, tessa continues to wear her heart out on her sleeve and is extremely open with her thoughts and feelings, be that with people she knows or people she does not. 

🤗 IS MY MUSE A HUGGER?  :  tess is a hugger ! her love language is definitely touch, and she takes a lot of comfort from receiving something as small as a hug and hopes to give as much of the same by giving. 

📌 HOW DOES MY MUSE MARK IMPORTANT DATES?  :  i'm so tired and don’t know what this question is asking for. does she write them in her diary ? does she throw a party ?
