I have gotten behind...

This photo is an image I captured from the 2013 Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion. The band you see here is St. Paul and the Broken Bones. A soulful-rock-jazzy-blues band.

I must say that their shows are beyond entertaining and full of energy. The weekend I took this image, I photographed nearly 50+ bands, 1,000s of people (including some celebrities), and indulged myself into musical love and heritage. 

Even for such a small town/city area, this was one of the largest events I ever had the opportunity of photographing. What I love about this shot in particular is the energy I managed to capture and the means by which I did so. This band deserved more than just a simple snapshot, they deserved an image that represented their undying passion for what they do.

Out of the thousands of shots I took the entire weekend. This one is still my absolute favorite.

Day 4: Last Summer

Last summer I embarked on a life changing and eye opening journey of starting my first "real" business. I had no rules, no limits, and no traditional day time job to rely on. What I did have however was my own photo studio, great gear, awesome friends, and my skills I had acquired over the years.

I had a new found love for Lana Del Rey. Not necessarily her, but her style and sound. I talked to my friend Carleigh and we agreed to do a "Lana" style photo shoot, and this was the photo that came from it.

Day 3: Peculiar Origins

Just before the start of my hiatus, I decided to start a project called "Peculiar". This project was inspired by the Ransom Riggs Peculiar Children series books. 

If you are into a good story and are longing for a series, I highly recommend it. Obviously the inspiration was high due to my photo series, however I still have yet to complete this series.

Day 2: Better late than never!

Only an hour and fifteen minutes left for today, so I made this upload just in time!

After a fourteen hour work day, to say the least, finally getting home to upload my image is very much rewarding. I find it ironic that not only was I later than expected to upload this image, but also this image was one of the last taken on the day of the shoot.

I had been shooting with this model (and one before her) for a total of about five hours. This image was capture in the last few minutes of sunlight after a long, hot, and grueling day. 

After taking a three month Hiatus from the photography world, I have decided to jump back in. The truth is, I was tired. tired of gig after gig with no return on investment. I was going broke and becoming depressed. The fun was gone, and I had forgotten the real reason I got into photography in the first place.

After taking such a long break, I finally realized that the love I once had returned to me. That emptiness I felt being without my camera finally became overbearing and now I plan to start anew.

This photo is a throwback photo to my second year of photo school. This was my first trip to the Burger Bar in Bristol Virginia. My friends know that I am a burger fanatic and if I could, I would spend my life traveling to the best Burger Bar's and photographing my journey.

My plan for this tumblr is to upload at least 1 photo and story each and every day. Some of these photos will be brand new, while others will be old memories that have shaped me into the person that I am today.
