Response to the Iowa trivia thing- Montgomery County LITERALLY lost their courthouse in the 1800s.
They were moving the county seat to Red Oak and didn't want to spend the money to build a new courthouse yet. So they hoisted the old wooden one-room building onto a wagon and hitched it up to some oxen. They just barely got to the outskirts of RO before the blizzard hit. Then men unhitched the oxen and ran for cover. In the morning, the courthouse was gone.
They didn't find it till the next spring, where the wind had apparently blown it onto my family's land. Decades later, my great grandpa found the old key while working the field. Musta fell out of the door at some point. It still had a label tied to the end with a bit of twine that said COURT.
Label's long gone, and so's the old wood courthouse, but we still have the key. It's a big black metal thing, about as long as my hand. Heavier than it looks.

According to one study the residents of Des Moines consume over 11 pounds of potato chips per year. More than any other metro area in the nation.
I wonder if that can be directly linked to Sterzing’s potato chips which are produced and distributed in Burlington, Iowa.
They are not only tasty, but I am told they are one of the only chips that can be lit on fire. So not only are they a great little snack but they are handy for starting your bbqs and bonfires.
