At first, Iruka thought he had said something wrong and paused mid-step to look back at Ibiki. His sigh of relief was audible when Ibiki explained, although it was followed by a little twinge of sadness for him. While certainly the man had an imposing figure, but in less than half and hour was far more... gentle than Iruka would have gathered.
Aware too. Iruka nodded a little empathetically. "Well, just means us scar-faces have to stick together hn?" He tapped at the broad scar taking up a good bit of his own face. Although he did become a little sheepish, wondering if perhaps humor like that was a little.. offputting. Even if Iruka was pretty casual about his scar, he worried it would not be as light-hearted to Ibiki.
"H-ha.. It's silly, but its ramen. Naruto loves Ichiraku plenty, but I want to be able to teach him how to make his own. Which, uh, means I should probably practice first." Maybe not the most glamorous or polished meal, but... maybe it would be a valuable lesson. Or maybe poor Ibiki would be the unfortunate soul to have to suggest Iruka never repeat such a catastrophe again.
