Inuyasha!

This is good because Tumblr is like a bubble and everyone will LIE about the artwork as they fear too much to give honest opinions in public or they are too politically correct to do so.

I asked some Inuyasha fans in private (otherwise they would have been bullied) to give their opinions and most replied the design is actually pretty nice but the face is UNCANNY. 

Screencaps/ GIFS are my main jam. My dashboard is insatiable and I need more blogs to follow.

 Yeah, that’s another golden piece from tumblr! The artist got mad because I’ve uploaded her work from deviantart and posted it on my inuyasha blog, so, she claims, I’ve stolen it from her!

I think she does not know how the internet works! 

Firstly, it is not art theft, definitely not! It was posted there because all the followers of that blog are supposed to be inuyasha fans, so, inuyasha art is made available for them. If she made her artwork available FOR FREE in a large site like DeviantArt, and she is really good at what she does, it is EXPECTED someone will download it and post it somewhere, and you don’t have to be a qualified programmer to download an image. All successful artists I know deal with it. This is not BS, this is how the internet works! What IS NOT expected is everyone GIVING A DIRECT LINK for the artist, and THIS IS WHAT I DO. It is so easy to spot uncredited art on Tumblr I’ll not even give a shot to show it to her.  

Secondly, I’ve no intention to gain profit over her work, I haven’t downloaded that to trace over, print and sell, etc. It was posted because the artwork is good. Tumblr is good because you can create a blog for very specific fandoms and organize it in a way that’s easy for fans to find the content they like, instead of looking for random images on a google search. That’s why all my posts are tagged and have a reference to who drew it. 

Thirdly, IF you don’t want to see it happening again( and I’m not threatening you, anyone can and will eventually download AND POST it), create a patreon account or a blog with a password, so only authorized people can see it. Even though, some random member may “leak” it online! That’s why posting something online and hoping it will never be downloaded for someone or made public is silly. And claiming “I have posted it on tumblr already” is not a good argument. Tumblr is not the place I’d look for content, and you should not expect me searching your name in advance to check if the content is already available or not, because it is probably NOT already available for the people who follow me. Eventually, people I follow will post something first and it will be reblogged by me.

And now she’s crying she would never draw Inuyasha fanart again because of me! If you are that fragile, you’re NOT ready to post your work outside a tightly controlled site where you can control who can see or post your work.  

And for me is so odd to see an artist who DON’T WANT to be seen! Like, what’s wrong with you? Is someone bullying you because you sometimes draw hot stuff? What are you losing exactly if I re-upload it again? I’m giving you my own time searching for GOOD art because that’s what that blog is for! There are over a thousand people more you can reach (potentially tens of thousands as the reblogs go). And, after all this reblogs, the “inuyashacentral” name is gone, but a link to YOUR own gallery still there! 

REASONS SHE WOULD BE RIGHT TO COMPLAIN:

♦Her artwork was downloaded and traced/recolored over. (Steven Universe fans do it ALL THE TIME!).

♦Her artwork was used somewhere out of context, for example, to trash a character or harass her.

♦Her artwork was posted but no credits were given.

♦Her artwork was used in a commercial product without permission. (No f’s given again).

NONE of the situations above have happened on my post. The post only has a name for the piece and a link for the original work on her Deviantart gallery, and this is FAIR.

This discussion for me is pointless, but all the points above should be taken as a learning tool and something people should read before filing a complaint. The internet is free and should remain free.

And, I’m not a bully. I still loving your art, no matter if you don’t like me. This should not be personal. I haven’t offended you, I might have offended your feelings, and not your dignity and effort. I will keep myself busy posting and reblogging content I like and other people who like it for years to come as I’ve been rightly doing.
