Okay. Someone was touching her. She was still screaming and crying, but someone wasn’t getting the hint not to touch her. Who the hell was touching her?! The wolf curled up on herself and shrieked into her knees, her entire body shaking in fear and in excruciating emotional pain as she felt the arms around her. At first it was making her a little claustrophobic, but she was too petrified to fight whoever it was off. Her eyes were red and the shriek she’d released was more of a roar, causing whatever wolves in the area to howl in response to the alpha’s distress. This was probably the third time this week she’d had that nightmare, but this time it wasn’t Dis at her side like it normally was. This was most definitely male.

She heard Dis’ voice nearby, the wolf breathing heavily as she felt her claws and fangs extend. She probably looked horrifying, she never liked her wolfy form unless it was full on wolf, so she buried her face in her knees and allowed whoever was holding her to keep his arms around her. It wasn’t until she heard Fili nearby as well that she figured out who was keeping a vice grip on her, and the fact that Kili didn’t understand by now not to touch her when she wolfed out was quite annoying. Sure, it had only been a couple weeks since she met him but you’d think he’d know by now if a wolf was having a panic attack not to touch it.

The screaming was loud, piercing, almost impossible to ignore and it had Kili jolting up in bed with a gasp. Though he had not known Cass that long, her voice was easy to recognize. It wasn't like any other he was accustomed to and the young dwarrow could identify many of the voices he lived with. Cass' had quickly been given a place in that list, so it was no surprise that Kili knew it was her who had been screaming and rushed over to her. What he'd been met with had not been expected, but the male wasn't frightened. He was aware of Cass' condition and had even seen her as a wolf before; it wasn't anything he'd be disgusted by.

Either Cass was not fully awake or she just really didn't like the idea of him there. Kili took it to be the former and even if it was the former, he wasn't leaving. Clearly, some kind of assistance was needed and he wasn't about to leave his friend alone to suffer whatever torment she was going through. He would help her in whatever way possible if he could. Yes, he probably should have been a bit more cautious about this all, but his own safety did not seem to be of the utmost importance at the moment and honestly-- Kili wasn't all that worried about that.

                 ❝Since when are you not up for a party? Or too tired?❞

➹ Both seemed rather silly to him. Dark eyes rolled, Kili wasn’t buying whatever Fili seemed to be selling and he released a somewhat impatient sigh. Clearly, the elder did not intend on going into detail or explaining himself. 

                 ❝You don’t have to tell me, but at least come up with better excuses, Fili. You’re not fooling anyone.❞
