Yes, I like the idea of him being a bat thiren (I, basically, headcanonned him as such before the Epilogue A+B), but sadly, there was nothing in cannon confirmed. In the CG, one of his sibling kneeled beside him seems to be a human(?) since their ears are ordinary human. And we can see only legs of the others'.

And his mother only has elf-like ears.

Hugo is charismatic, smooth-talking, and the one who makes you blush, and to make him blush is a challenge but not impossible.

Sincere complimenting him. Compliment his voice, his looks, tell him how kind he is and you’re proud of him. He’ll laugh playfully, thanking you for the compliment, trying to brush your words off, but the pink tint on his cheeks and ears tells the other story.

Complimenting his eyes. He’s aware that he’s good looking, but his eyes are something that reminds him of his past and origin… but if you say you like his eyes, sincerely, it will affect him deeply. “Nothing will ever be as mesmerizing as your eyes.” At which the said eyes will open wide as Hugo is speechless, looking at you in surprise with a blush spreading on his cheeks.

Telling him that he’s loved, genuinely and sincerely. If you look him in the eyes and say, “I love you, just as you are,” he will freeze. It doesn’t get him at first. He’s used to admiration, yes, but unconditional love? That gets under his skin.

Calling him nickname. Something soft like ‘darling’, ‘love’, ‘my Hugo’ or even ‘Hughie’. He’s not used to being loved like this, it makes him oddly giddy inside, in the best way. “Say that again.” “...’My Hugo’?” “Hah… You’re dangerous, sweetheart.”

If you wear his clothes. His shirt and nothing else? Especially if it’s loose and falling off your shoulder? He smirks like it doesn’t bother him, but his gaze lingers on you longer than it should, and he swallows hard before speaking.

You tease him first. He’s the one who loves to tease you and make you flustered. But if you turn the tables? The moment you lean closer, looking in the eyes, whisper something (a compliment or something suggestive), and if you’re feeling bold — brush your fingers under his chin or against his cheek… he will pause. The breath catches in his throat, his usual grin falters for a second, and his ears twitch slightly and go faintly red. “Ah… You’ve been learning from the best, haven’t you?”

Turning the tables (again) by being forward. If you say something suggestive and mean it, not playfully but with intentions, and whispering in his ear: “You have no idea what you do to me, Hugo. You’re driving me crazy.” He will smirk, but then swallow hard and clench his jaw — he’s flustered and excited.

OR if you say something suggestive accidentally without even realising it — something totally innocent, but out of context it could sound lewd. “It’s so long… I can’t barely take it all in.” You say that about long and boring report you’re reading. But Hugo chokes on his own saliva. “...Say this again. Slower. Wait, no. Don’t. I won’t survive it.”
