"Right...." As a merchant, Iskra was used to odd folks--and she'd traveled with a couple for an extended period at this point, too. She was... remarkably inured to tomfoolery.

Though Keeran supposed, logically, Iskra's mother could just be a traveler... That wasn't really her business, though, was it?

"I was, uh. Born and raised here." She really didn't need to get into the circumstances of her birth and the oddity of her family right now, now did she? A good portion of that was already evident, anyway.

Iskra, for her part, avoided getting splashed--mostly because she had to climb onto the dock the traditional way. Read: more slowly. At least she was more than strong enough to do it, hauling herself onto the pier with a huff and a glower.

"I'm plenty strong!" she insisted, slightly breathless. "Besides, I wasn't really expecting to win. Just thought it'd be fun, is all."

Ah, that felt mostly better. She was sure she'd be feeling cold-stiff muscles for the rest of the day, but that was hardly the worst she had felt fresh out of a fight. Iskra took a moment to stretch her limbs and just sort of... bob her way over to the dock.

"Keeraaaaaan!" Nisha squealed, waving enthusiastically at her friend. Well, these two looked like they had some fun! Too bad she missed out. "Nah, it was just a little scouting run. Kind of boring, honestly. You're clearly having a more eventful day than I am!"

Keeran glanced up for a moment before quickly ducking back under the water and pushing upwards to breach the surface, aiming for the dock, where she landed on her ass with a hard thump. It wasn't the tidiest way out of the water, but she could handle a bruised ass. Besides, she didn't get to show off the speed her Thresher Shark tail could pull off very often. She settled a moment before continuing, letting the other two recover from the spray of water she brought with her.

"Whew! That was a hell of a rush!"

"Sup."

"Huh?"

Shaking the water out of her eyes, Iskra looking up at a red-scaled tiefling sitting on the dock, grinning playfully down at her. Her tail, lined with a swirling tattoo that glowed the same yellow at her eyes, flicked like an amused cat.

"Oh- Nisha!"

She was a little singed from where that bolt had hit her, but compared to her sparring partner, she'd made it out of that remarkably clean- and after healing herself and closing her kinetic gate, even that mark was quickly fading.

Keeran was quick to make a little distance between them as the electric spear narrowly missed- it, predictably, didn't take the merfolk nearly as much effort to move in the water, and, unfortunately for Iskra, she had a hell of a lot more cold where that came from.

Keeran hadn't managed to get a lot of her old magic 'back', by any means; she was pretty sure she'd never master her old signature spell, Snowball, any time soon. But Frostbite was just a cantrip- just reduce the excitement of the energy in a space, sharply, abruptly, and you can leave your target vulnerable. She... Didn't quite manage that much with this casting, given that she'd just gotten hit with a jolt of electricity, but she could still follow it up with a basic Kinetic Blast while her target was off guard from the sudden cold, propulsing the water around her in something not unlike a ranged punch to her target.

In her excitement, she hadn't exactly planned very far ahead with this whole plan--probably because she hadn't really expected Keeran to be down for it.

Honestly, if her magic and power hadn't been drained a few years back, she'd dare to say Iskra was a little outclassed here- but, unfortunately, Keeran had had to start from square one after they'd sealed the rift. It had given her a good excuse to go back to school, though- this time to actually learn how to cast, rather than just the fundamentals of magic.

It didn't take long for her to swiftly change into her more typical out-and-about explorer's clothes, strutting proudly down the dock to meet with the kitsune.

'Wrestling with a mermaid' quickly turns into 'drowning' if the mermaid's actually out to win.

She was now perched via her arms at the end of the dock, mostly dead weight hanging off the end of the pier; it's not pleasant to hang like this, but it would be rude of her to just disappear underwater, too, wouldn't it?

With a bit of a huff, Keeran gestured down the dock without looking, tossing her head slightly in the same direction.

"Whoa, hey, no, that's not what I meant at all!"

Hey, she's everyone's type, how dare you--that's besides the point, though.
