no because i was just reminded of how upset the episode girl meets hurricane (and the 2 second storyline it started) makes me. it’s the way michael jacobs needed his ass beat for that fucking clownery. the way he did angela and shawngela in that episode was a fucking hate crime. i don’t care what no one says, i said this when it aired and i’ll say it now: maya did not need katy to marry shawn in order to have a fucking father. she had cory. and she could’ve had a bond with shawn. she didn’t need him to be her step-dad to do that. like they really told kids that you need a father to have a complete, happy family. that single parent homes are insufficient on top of erasing an interracial love story. all of that was ugly. like y’all did that for what? so a little white girl could have a father? y’all erased a black character and her impact from canon to legitimize a love story you didn’t show us and most people didn’t care about if we’re honest. a lot of the reason shawn grew and changed was because he loved angela, fully and completely. he didn’t love her because he “had to to” or because he wanted to be the next corpanga. he just loved her. no reason. no obligation. just feeling. just love. he unapologetically and loudly loved a black women. in fact, she was the only women he loved. but no they erased all that to give a girl a dad when they literally didn’t need to do any of that for sh*ty’s love story to happen. she was important to the friend group no matter what gmw canon says. she was the love of shawn’s life and one of their best friends. she meant something to them and she meant something to every black girl in the 90s. angela moore is an integral part of shawn’s life and boy meets world. i’m mad, i’ll stay mad, i’ll die mad and i’ll enter the afterlife mad. that was one of the biggest clown cards played in girl meets world and i stand by that.
