「Awe Of She」

Three weeks have elapsed since I pitched Sharon’s blog, and by some twist of fate, 100+ of you have come along for the ride. The first cut is the deepest, as the saying goes, and the first hundred followers on any given blog are always among the most important from then on. I can hardly express my gratitude (and, somewhat, my surprise) for the warm and enthusiastic welcome given to me and to this very small role by dozens of talented writers and kind new friends. To old followers and new, to tried and true companions and fresh acquaintances, thank you for sharing with me the skill and spirit that have made this blog a joy to run, and Sharon to blossom into something as close to the true definition of a ‘muse’ as I’ve come in a while.  Here’s to the long haul! A relieved smile graced the Gear’s lips as she slowly shook her head from side to side, a silent yet clear sign for the other that she hadn’t minded her actions and words in the slightest; she perfectly knew that being careful and cautious was necessary ( if not essential ) , therefore she couldn’t blame her for being wary, especially since Dizzy wasn’t exactly normal.

💗 — ❛ I perfectly understand you, miss! I’m honestly happy to know that you’ve changed your mind about me. My name is Dizzy! Can I know yours? ❜

💗 — ❛ I’m a Gear, but you don’t look human either... Are you like me, perhaps? ❜

C e r u l e a n locks leisurely danced in the cold, November wind as the Gear’s head was slowly tilted to one side out of both curiosity and puzzlement because of the man’s words; caution was something she had learnt to respect and embrace since her foster parents had ‘abandoned’ her in the woods ( that eventful moment marked the beginning of a new life made of solitude and fear ) , therefore she wasn’t surprised to know that evil, violent people roamed around that place... What actually startled her was the fact that an unknown person was concerned about her wellbeing, even though he knew absolutely nothing about her. 

💗 — ❛ I think that every living being on this planet should be careful, we never know what’s hiding and waiting for us behind a corner - But even so, this just gives us one more reason to try and enjoy life at its fullest, right? ❜

That utterance was certainly hilarious, especially coming from someone who barely knew what living and feeling alive actually meant, someone who had cowered and hidden out of fear of being captured by the various bounty hunters who were after her.

💗 — ❛ What’s your name? I’m Dizzy! ❜

“A meteor shower, eh? I haven’t had a proper night off in months…”

In fact, he couldn’t remember the last time he’d just not done work. And though some would call it such, chasing after and then being flattened by Sol was considered work, if only to make sure his Rival didn’t get himself into any situation that would cause them both more grief than they needed or wanted.

Perhaps a night off was long overdue.

There’s a gentle squeeze to her shoulder, before the hand is removed, both hands now at his side. His expression was softer now, already as he looked forward to the darkness that night brought, to the streams of silver-white that would pierce the inky black.

H a p p i n e s s was so obvious and clear to see upon Dizzy’s visage once he agreed on taking part to her childish idea about stargazing together - It almost felt like an incredibly skilled artist had painted the word ‘joy’ upon her visage, using her delicate facial features as a blank canvas. Hands were unconsciously brought upwards and clapped together upon her bosom, the obsidian tail behind her now moved and wagged oh so fast, a clear manifest of the female’s inner emotions. She was so excited about it! She was so eager at the idea of spending some time together that she found herself unable to think or say something for quite a few seconds.

💗 — ❛ Shall I prepare something to eat? We might go out a bit earlier and have dinner while we wait for the meteor shower to begin - I’ve read a few books about the matter and they all claimed that it’s impossible to precisely predict when this kind of phenomena might start. ❜

Her desire not to disappoint him had led her to reading about a dozen large books about the universe, the stars, the shooting stars and much much more ( she might have dozed off from time to time, especially whenever the paragraphs grew to be long and boring ) , but she was now incredibly prepared about the subject - Having an almost heavenly library at hand was definitely useful.

💗 — ❛ You truly deserve some time off... You’ve been working a lot lately. ❜

             {𝓥ℐℐℐ} “Looking for the Soryu—!?”

      Eight quickly stood up upon seeing the other. He thought it was one of his classmates, but she surely does not look like a one. How could she snuck on him like that without feeling her presence? He should be careful.

O b v i o u s l y , her sudden and clearly unexpected approach had managed to startle and catch off guard the young male; even though she was supposed to feel bad and even guilty for such a thing, Dizzy was unable to stop her lips from curling upwards into an amused, friendly smile. Bravely ( and perhaps, even recklessly considering who and what she was ) , she took a few steps forward in order to close the distance between them, now holding her seemingly fragile hands behind her back; with each movement, the Gear’s reptilian tail wagged, slowly and leisurely, but fast enough to be noticed - No, it wasn’t a threat of any kind, it was just a fair warning of what he would have faced if he decided to attack her.

💗 — ❛ I’m sorry for startling you... I’m Dizzy! ❜

C u r i o s i t y was written in capital letters upon the Gear’s visage once his question captured her attention, bringing an amused yet gentle smile upon rose tinted lips; people had approached her in a lot of different manners ( each one unique, under her point of view ) , but it was the first time that someone bothered to worry about her sake and wellbeing - What a wonderful surprise.

💗 — ❛ I don’t mind the cold... To be honest, I prefer it to the suffocating heat of summer. It feels refreshing, but thank you for your kindness! ❜

The whole situation was quite unexpected, yet interesting and amusing nonethless; Dizzy could clearly sense that he wasn’t a human and as much as she would have liked to pry into his life, perhaps it was just too early to do that.

          THERE WAS NOTHING IN his jurisdiction on…something like this woman. However, he did not wish to fight, especially something he had no idea on how to battle with. Though still tense, he relaxed a bit more as he examined this peculiar woman from a very comfortable distance. “I see…” He paused, unsure of what else he was supposed to say. This woman answered his question, yet didn’t answer it at all. Perhaps it didn’t matter as long as she didn’t cause any form of trouble…as odd…as it was for him to mull over that. Though she looked relatively harmless, he doubted she was. He would have to see. “I…suppose you do deserve that much. You would do well to try and blend in at least. As is you…stand out quite a bit.”

R e l i e f was such a foreign yet loved sensation, something she rarely had the chance to experience considering that she had spent the majority of her life hidden away from humans, far away from the reality around her with nothing more than her dreams and fears to keep her company; muscles relaxed, delicate facial features softened and a feeble yet warm smile graced her lips - If he wasn’t going to try and harm her, then she could have as well attempted to enjoy his presence.

The utterance was nothing more than a mere, honeyed whisper, barely audible for the human ear yet powerful enough because it possessed the Gear’s innocent gratitude for the chance she was given. Without thinking about it and allowing the excitement within to take over, she took a few steps forward, closing the distance between her and the unknown male; asymmetrical wings remained still behind her back while her tail did move, slowly and leisurely, out of joy.

E x p l o r i n g unknown and mysterious places was one of her favorite activities, even though it often proved to be awfully dangerous - Especially with the high number of bounty hunters out there who longed for her capture. Crimson irises curiously observed a crouched figure, cerulean locks leisurely danced in the wind as a raging curiosity pirouetted inside of her, forcing her to take a few steps closer before a warm, melodious voice broke the soothing silence around the duo; Dizzy often avoided direct contact with people out of fear but hopefully, this time it would have been different.
