"Satoru please... Come back to me..." you murmured as you curled up in the pillow.
The days without him passed inexorably.
Especially after you found out your Satoru died.
Your life was less important than his. Then why did he die instead of you??
Why did he go somewhere without telling you where.
And then you found out that your beloved boyfriend died...
Someone killed him? Or something?
You couldn't find out. You were an ordinary man.
His superiors judged you for not being a sorcerer. They even threatened you. They blamed you for being the cause of Gojo Satoru's death. The strongest sorcerer.
Even though you can admit they were almost happy in some way.
At last, whoever was breaking their rules so much is now gone.
And they don't have to deal with it.
There will be someone else to replace him. Someone else special grade.
Besides, he was blamed by other superiors. Because it was after his birth that more and more powerful curses began to appear. Just to keep the balance of power.
So now, when an even stronger curse appears, who could save the world?
You wondered why you didn't live in your house.
Why did you run away to your apartment?
Maybe it's because everything in your house reminds you that he was with you.
Here you see everything related to it. Your shared moments.
But unfortunately. You have to move out of here tomorrow.
Tonight is the last night you can sleep here. There are other people who rented this apartment instead of you.
You had until the end of the month. Today is the last day.
Tomorrow others are coming to live here instead of you.
You must leave the house tomorrow morning. And you won't be able to come back here again.
You have another house. Your beloved house where you live with Satoru.
But he's not there anymore...
All your stuff is there.
But you were too afraid to be there.
Too much.
The house is so sad and quiet without him.
How are you supposed to live there in such a big house all by yourself?
It will be a terrible feeling of loneliness.
You don't want anyone else. You just want your Satoru.
You want him to come back to you.
All your stuff is there.
But you'd rather sleep here with no covers and nothing to take than to sleep in a cold bed without Satoru.
Tomorrow you will have to face this cold. With loneliness in bed.
"Toru... Why did you leave me...?" you groaned, crying into the sleeve of your sweatshirt.
You hoped to at least fall asleep.
"I didn't leave you at all. I'm here with you. And now... I always will. It's sad that you don't even know that I'm looking at you..."
He sighed. But then a crazy smile appeared on his lips.
"Now you'll be mine forever... I'll never be defeated again, and you'll be mine forever... Come home... And then you won't leave, baby~ we'll always be together~"
You must have left the house before the new owners came.
The only thing you know about them is that they are two guys who rent the apartment that used to be yours to be closer to school and work. students...
Before anyone came, you left there. Leaving everything as it was supposed to be from the beginning. Empty.
You went back to your home.
To even more empty space.
So cold and lifeless...
Is it worth living without Him at all?
Your dreams that night told you that you would be cursed.
That's how Satoru described it to you.
That when you're cursed, you'll even dream of curses.
You hate the feeling of being watched. And now you feel it even more. It's such a bad feeling...
Your dream...
Your dream was about something like that.
You were standing in the dark.
Eyes floated around you, watching your every move.
You also heard a strange giggle.
You really hate having nightmares...
Especially those.
You felt like someone was about to catch you. However, there was no murderous aura.
Nobody wanted to kill you.
And then the eyes flying around you got bigger. Six eyes that surrounded you.
Blue, beautiful eyes.
They all looked as if they were made of the most beautiful crystal.
And the color was the same as Satoru's eyes...
You felt warm. You didn't feel scared. You felt the way you always did with him.
You felt that he, even after his death, watches over you.
Like a real angel.
But he wasn't really an angel.
He was closest to a demon, and he wasn't quite going to the grave just yet. Or not at all.
Because he will never lose again. Because when he lost, he lost the ability to hug you.
And now, he will never let you be alone again.
What sorcerer could defeat a curse above special grade?
When he came out of his body, he felt so good. As if nothing was stopping him at all.
And it really was. Nothing limited him.
His energy was endless. He was immortal. He could do what he wanted.
Because nothing enslaved him anymore.
He had no rules to follow.
He didn't have to listen to anyone.
He didn't have to work for anyone, he didn't have to protect people even at the cost of his own happiness and life.
He could finally do whatever he wanted.
He didn't even remember what it was that kept him attached to the human body.
Ah...
You always held him.
And he wanted you to keep holding him like that.
You kept him happy as long as you were with him... His happiness, his love...
So he will take what is important to him with him...
It will hold it even tighter. And he won't let anything take that away from him.
As a curse, he had no limits.
There wasn't even a chance that any sorcerer would defeat him. Even an entire army.
He saw everything. His energy was endless. He could control the universe. Every particle.
Instead of just knocking you unconscious like he did to you last night so you could sleep, he could enter a human sleep. To the human mind. Which he never wanted to do to you.
He could practically destroy the whole world with one move. Without any effort.
But why won't he?
Because you linger in his heart.
And you must have a place to live.
Since he can do so much now, he will find a way to make you immortal.
And you can live together forever.
What he received only increased his love for you.
He already had everything. He just needed someone to be with him.
He could kill curses. He could do what he wanted with people. Because he wasn't the same man anymore.
Nothing was stopping him.
All he wanted was that you thought you'd be his forever.
Nothing will happen to you. You will always be safe and happy.
He can materialize his body. So he can be like a man. Everyone will see it.
That's why it means you won't feel alone.
Mastery over the smallest particle and atom makes him create a body for himself. He's like a human. Everyone will see it. You will feel it.
He doesn't have the body of a cursed spirit.
He is a curse on a divine level.
He believed it most that the strongest creature of the universes could not win against him.
His domain, his innate techniques. That's all it was. Probably so powerful that it's too much.
Because his mere play with small skills was so powerful to do something no one had ever been able to do before.
For your safety, it's better to live with the world at peace. So nothing that can hurt you.
And he might have been hurt by your leaving.
In your dream, he wanted to show himself so much.
Hug you.
But he wanted to leave you a surprise. To meet his body. So you can really touch him.
He looks almost the same as before. His human form.
It's all because he absorbed parts of his human body from the morgue.
Has anyone noticed? No.
The illusion created with his techniques worked perfectly.
It was enough to use the energy of his body.
Only to sit in the same body as always at home.
Waiting for you with a cup of sweet coffee in hand.
He was like a man. Even if it wasn't.
He could live normally. And no one could see that his humanity was over.
He was just waiting for you to come home.
And he was waiting for your cry of happiness.
When you entered the house your eyes were red from all the crying you were hiding under the hood of your sweatshirt.
You left in the morning, so you avoided unnecessary crowds.
And you also disinfected from the bus ride. You just paid for a taxi.
When the taxi driver asked why you were crying, all you could say was that you lost someone really important.
He wasn't mean enough to read your mind, or even try to.
He didn't want to test his skills on you.
What if one of them gets you hurt? Or worse...?
He knew exactly that you were crying. But he couldn't do anything about it while you were away.
When you see it, you will surely be happy.
He was excited when you grabbed the doorknob.
He turned towards the door as he sat in the chair.
His sunglasses on his nose.
His eyesight is now even sharper and more sensitive.
He saw you in the dark of the night when you were sleeping. He saw everything. He hugged you lightly as you slept.
So he could see you in a whole crowd of people from afar.
As you closed the door, tears flowed again.
You've come back to the emptiest house imaginable.
Without him, this house has no life...
Before you turned around, you rested your head against the closed door, crying loudly.
After all, no one will hear you here.
Nobody will comfort you...
Or so you thought.
When he saw your despair, he really thought that he could show himself to you right after he came back.
Because now you're a mess.
All your emotions... Your body.
you suffer.
He always tried to make you always remember him.
That's why it hurts so much right now.
Because you can't forget any of his smiles.
When you saw him at the funeral yesterday, he wasn't smiling.
He died the day before yesterday.
Yesterday was his funeral.
He had no family.
The people who came were his students, his former teacher, and his friends with whom he worked. And you.
The person who grieved the most was you.
You couldn't really calm down. Your heart ached.
You didn't know that right after the coffin was closed, his body disappeared. Like an illusion.
And the real Satoru was sitting nearby, disguised as a cursed spirit, even if he had a body. He just turned invisible.
He very much wanted to appear for all of you and make you not cry and not be sad. Especially you, who got the strongest sedatives from Shoko, but you still couldn't stop grieving.
All his smiles mingled with his pale, cold face you saw.
Now, if you remember all this, it's such an awfully painful feeling...
You turned around when you heard movement.
You looked up to see the man in front of you. Tall, white hair.
This is supposed to be your Satoru.
"Honey..." he called out.
"Toru..." you groaned with your eyes wide open.
You had dreams...
More tears flowed from your eyes.
What is in front of you now is your Satoru... And all you can see in your mind is his dead body...
You hate your mind.
Why is he giving you a clear picture of him as if he hadn't died?
Don't you suffer enough?
With a silent cry, you whispered denials to yourself. And the eyes were waterfalls of tears.
You immediately fell to your knees, curling up on the floor.
"Why.. Why are you doing this to me..." you groaned. "Just kill me already..."
He widened his eyes at what you said.
You really don't think he's standing here in front of you.
You think you're just hallucinating...
Do you really want to die?
He quickly walked over to you and wrapped his arms around your body.
"I'm here, baby." He said softly. His voice almost broke. He hated hearing you cry. He hated hearing you say you wanted to die.
He'd heard too much in a few days.
"...I don't want to live without you...! Satoru, take me out of this world! I don't want to live without you with me...!"
His hands wrapped tighter around you.
"I'm sorry I'm going to do this..."
"No! Don't leave me! I don't want to â"
Suddenly he pressed his lips to your forehead, erasing your memories. From now until the moment before his death.
He will have to do the same with the others. With all Jujutsu society. To make them think he was always alive.
Only some will be able to know that he is a curse.
Because his superiors wanted to charge you with his murder, he should kill them.
"How fast do you think I could kill all my superiors now? They wanted to hurt you... So I can hurt them. Therefore, I have infinite power. I have this for you..." He said as your brain was momentarily clouded after erasing those memories. "So come back to me as you've always been... Smile at me. I will never leave you again. Even for a moment."
"Satoru? Are you home yet?" You asked, snuggling into his chest.
He has yet to instill in you the awareness that he is no longer human.
And it won't be difficult. Because you love him no matter who he is.
Hiding it will be easy.
When using cursed energy, his sclera turns black and his eyes glow more. However, he can always wear something to hide his eyes.
You can see his face always.
And only you can see its true form.
"Honey, I'm a curse." he said hugging you.
"But you're the same..." you moaned snuggling into his chest.
"I am. I just need to show you something. I know you can keep a secret. I know because you are wonderful. You're so perfect. Only you can see it. The way I was reborn."
"I love you. I missed you." You said, kissing his jaw. "Are you okay? Are you comfortable with... You're not human? Is something hurting you? How did this happen...?"
"I'm fine. Too fine. It's perfect. Now I can find a way to give you eternal life as well. And we'll be together forever."
"It's not possible... I wish I could be with you forever. But this... How can I help you?"
"I want to be a curse. I have a human body. You do not feel? My heart is beating. It beats for you. Only for you. I live because I wanted to live with you. I just absorbed the energy after death. The fact that you missed me gave me a chance to come back. To continue to live with you, I chose this. And now... Now we can be together forever."
"Toru..."
"I love you... Now look at me. And promise me you won't be afraid."
You knew his body had changed somehow. Increased a little. But it was still your Satoru.
He's back from a mission. As a curse. But it's your Satoru.
He looks the same. He's the same.
You looked at him as he pushed you away.
His white hair was the same. The shape of his face.
He was a humanoid curse.
His eyes were very shining. Black scleras. But just as beautiful blue. Like a crystal. The color was a bit sharper.
Another one opened under his eyes. On the cheeks. And also on his forehead.
When he smiled, you saw sharp fangs.
On his neck, a black vertical Japanese inscription - çĄé - Mugen - Infinite.
On the right forearm - çĄĺśé - Museigen - Unlimited.
On the left forearm - çĄćľ - Muteki - Invincible.
His plain black T-shirt seemed a little tighter across his chest and arms.
He was beautiful.
"Aren't you afraid?" he asked calmly.
"No." You responded by placing your hands on his cheeks. Watching out for his extra pair of eyes.
He smiled, taking your hands.
Then suddenly you saw his extra eyes disappear.
"But I honestly prefer it. More places on your face where you can kiss me." He said.
You giggled softly and kissed his cheek.
"I'll show you something else."
You saw a black circle appear behind his back, which seemed to show the stars. And six big eyes popped out of it.
Around the largest eyes circled six smaller eyes. Each eye had another six. And each smaller eye had six more around it, which were the size of human eyes.
You thought those eyeballs were made of crystal, but they weren't real. And so it was.
They were all beautifully blue.
"Do not try to look into the pupil when they are shining. You remember how my domain works, right?" he said bringing your eyes to him. "When you look in the middle of the eye when they shine more and seem to sparkle with the stars, they cause the same thing as my domain. I've tested it on curses I've encountered."
Why was he so beautiful. But if you met him and he wanted to kill you, you'd be scared.
Surely.
But he will never hurt you.
"Say you love my eyes please. I always love hearing your voice, mochi~."
"Must I?" You laughed with a small blush.
You don't want to increase his ego.
"I know you love my eyes." He said laying his head on your breasts as he looked into your eyes.
His black sclera contrast nicely with his skin, hair and eyelashes.
You ran your hands over his throat. After the inscription çĄé (Mugen). Enjoying the warmth of his skin.
"I love you." He said purring.
Then his body shrunk slightly, the marks on his body disappeared. His sclera turned white. But the crystal blue was the same.
The eyes behind him evaporated. And you stayed with him as if he was still human. But he is not.
Now he can do more. You can. You can live together as you like.
satoru is not a whore. you are 100% correct. this agenda must be spread! i swear every time i read fanfiction hes always written as a player. its getting kinda sad lol.
the first thing he did when he got out of that box is go to geto to kill kenjaku so he can give getos body a proper burial. he didnt check up on the kids, he went to his best friend instead. that man may fuck around once in a blue moon, but satoru is a ride or die.
THIS!! he saw his beat friendâs body basically being used as a puppet and still thought to help him.. even in death that man is loyal to a fault. and think back to when he killed the real geto and he still referred to him as his best friend. man was a whole menace and had commited mass murder but gojo still called him a friend like !! Idk if itâs the childish attitude he has or what but heâs the last person in the series that would ever even consider cheating on anyoneđ§đžââď¸but letâs not forget heâs a ride or die for his kids too! like how he chose to help yuuta and yuuji instead of executing them straight away like he was supposed to and defying the higher ups because theyâre young and they have dreams toođ
someone needs to spread the gojo isnât a whore agenda and I am here to do sođ¤đž

(for anon: âUse your words, baby. Iâm not a mind reader.â)
You sometimes wistfully imagine having a family of your ownâa soft and sweet little bundle to cuddle and someone strong and capable, competent, at your side. But you canât think of the last time youâve been on a date where that person had the same interest in something more serious than casually sleeping around.Â
Nannying seemed like the natural conclusion, especially when youâre still settling in a new city and barely scraping up enough for rent. Youâre employer, however, poses a problem.
Itâs not that heâs a terrible boss; in fact, heâs quite the opposite. He lets you take over one of the many spare rooms in his massive house, pays you double the regular rate, and gives you time off when you ask for it.
It also helps that his son, Ren, is cute, only a year old, and still so sweet and tiny.Â
Perfect.
The problem lies in that you know what he sounds like first thing in the morning, that he knows how you like your coffee, that he helps you fold laundry in the living room while the baby naps, how you catch him staring anytime you hold his son. Itâs all so domestic.Â
You donât think itâs normal, at least not from your experience. You were lucky in the past if your employer even wanted to know about their kidâs day. Gojo wants to know everything: what Ren ate, if he laughed, how your day was, if you finally got your hands on that book youâve been meaning to buy.Â
It leaves you wanting and wonderingâonly ever allowing yourself to fantasize a little when the house is quiet and dark, the baby monitor humming on your nightstand, and images of your boss flit behind closed eyelids as you fit your hand underneath your sleep shorts.
In the morning, you worry he can tell what you did, his smile almost too sharpâmore teasing than what youâre used toâand his hand resting on your lower back longer than usual as he kisses Renâs chubby cheek before he leaves for work.
You get your answer when he comes home early one afternoon and finds you and the baby napping in the nursery. He has this soft look on his face, eyes settled firmly on you.
Ren coos softly into your shoulder.Â
When Gojo picks him up and tucks him in the crib, then walks you to your roomâhere, let me help youâhovering in your doorway, you let him in without question.
He doesnât waste any time peeling off your clothes, eager to have you naked and splayed out underneath him. You cum on his tongue more times than you can count until youâre silently begging him to fuck you.
He laughs, large hands spread over your tummy.Â
âUse your words, baby. Iâm not a mind reader.â
âI wantââ
All other thoughts are obliterated by the push of his cock. You keen high in your throat, overwhelmed by the pleasure-pain of it, how it's better than you've imagined.
âItâs okay, baby. I know what you want,â he rasps, lips dragging over your throat. âBecause I want it too.â

(for anon: âFriends do it all the time.â)
Itâs an odd request. Geto says it doesnât mean anythingâdonât worry, friends do it all the timeâand youâre tempted to point out that youâre not exactly friends, or perhaps youâre not entirely in tune with the ins and outs of being a roommate.
You think you agree because heâs comfortable and familiar, and you admit that itâs kind of nice after a long day of work. Just to be held. Just to cuddle.
The shift happens when you get up one night to use the bathroom and come back to find him lazily blinking himself awake. He doesnât say anything when you crawl under the coversânot until you settle into a spot thatâs apparently too far away for his liking.Â
âCâmere,â he mumbles sleepily, looping one long arm around your waist and dragging you across the sheets with too much energy for someone whoâd just woken up.
He rearranges your body easily, bringing one of your thighs over his hip and pressing one of his up between your own. Then he pushes up your shirt, something you notice heâs been steadily testing recently, seeing what youâll let him get away with. Except itâs different this time because youâre not wearing a bra.
Itâs probably a good thing that he canât see your face where he has his buried against your chest. If he did, heâd tease you about the surprise and bewilderment bleeding onto your features like ink to paper.
You squeak when he presses a kiss between your breasts before taking a nipple into his mouth, caressing it with his tongue. When your hips shift against his thigh, you tell yourself itâs only to get comfortable, anything to keep from getting ahead of yourself.
This doesnât mean anything. Itâs just cuddling. Justâ
Geto makes a sleepy noise at the back of his throat, and his mouth pops off with a wet sound, filthy and depraved. âYou like this?â
You swallow. âNo.â
âLiar,â he mumbles, and you donât even notice him squeezing his hand between your bodies, not until a knuckle presses against where thereâs an embarrassing wet patch on your underwear, his fingertips searching forâ
"W-wait! That's myâ"
"Clit?" His chuckle is a hushed little thing that makes your cheeks warm. âYouâre really wet for someone whoâs not turned on.â
âIâm not,â you whimper, entirely unconvincing.
âIâm just making it better, okay?â
Geto hooks his finger into the gusset of your underwear, pulling them away from your pussy, and moving his thigh so youâre skin on skin. You preen, wiggling your hips, trying to spread your legs a little wider, anything to get closer.
âThere you go,â he says with a mouthful of your breast, content, his eyes still softly shut.
In the end, you try not to think about it too much and eventually cum with a high-pitched gasp against his thigh, leaving you limp and sleepy. You donât dare look down at him because you know if you do, youâll find the smirk that you feel curling his lips in triumph as if heâs just proved a point.Â
Instead, you close your eyes and decide to save that problem for another day.

(for anon: âKiss me like you mean it.â)
Youâve noticed him for a while.
There are few times at your Grandfatherâs dinner parties where you wonder about the strange guests in dark suits: people with too much money and influence than they know what to do with.
Sometimes youâre curious about the men and women who often walk around the estate like itâs their own, their chin held high, eyes piercing, ignoring you like youâre nothing but a mere pet trapped under Grandfatherâs thumb.
Nanami is different.
Heâs always the first one back from a job (probably something more sinister than youâre allowed to know about), his suit still crisp across his shoulders. The only evidence that heâd been out doing something dangerous is when he reaches for his fork with one of his too-big hands, and you spot a dot of red on his sleeve.Â
Heâs quieter than the others and typically keeps to himself, careful not to look your way when you take the empty seat beside him but never pretending as if you donât exist, either. Everything changes when Grandfather tells him to accompany you around your brick cageâyour new shadowâand your eyes open to another side of him that youâve never noticed before.Â
Men donât meet his eyes when he looks at them. Nobody blinks twice when he tells them what to do, and when he talks on the phone, itâs with that no-nonsense tone that he seems to use with everyone except you.Â
Then there are the other things.Â
He loves reading, and sometimes heâll read to you: the newspaper, poets, and books. While tucked into his side, you often wonder if he was meant to be a writer instead of a thug with an endless array of scars and secrets.
Nanami lets his guard down around you, and these days, his eyes crinkle when you meet them, no longer hiding from your shy smiles. He gives you pet names that you slowly grow addicted toâsilently, selfishly, preening from all the attention. âSweetheartâ if youâre good. âDarlingâ when you manage to test his patience. âBratâ whenever you get what you want.
And he does. Give you what you want.
You think he finds it amusing, seeing how far youâll go to test the extent of his patience.Â
Heâs almost done with the worn paper-back book heâs been reading to you the past week, but you make a point of distracting him by perching yourself in his lap and kissing the edge of his jaw. Your stomach is already dancing with butterflies, knowing he allowed you to get this far.
âDarling.â
Itâs meant as a warning, but all it does is make your heart skip in your chest.
âHm?â You place another kiss against the side of his throat, humming, lips tingling when you feel him swallow.
âWeâre never going to finish this.â
âThen kiss me instead.â
He sighs. âYou know I canât.â
âCanât or shouldnât?â you pout.
âBoth.â
âBut what if I want you to kiss me like you mean it?â
He finally puts the book down, and you take the opportunity to straddle his thighs, watching as his eyes flit down to where your sundress rides up.
âBrat.â He strokes his knuckles down the curve of your cheek, along the fragile bones of your neck, ignoring how you gasp when he wraps his fingers around your throat. The way he looms over you, close enough that you feel his breath against your lips, is enough to make you dizzy.Â
âSo spoiled,â he says softly.
Itâs in stark contrast to when he finally kisses you, licking the seam of your mouth and pressing his tongue against yours. You preenâfingers wrapped like a vice in his collarâand grind down where you already feel him hot and hard between your legs.Â
But it ends too soon.
His fingers tighten, and he turns your head to the side, breaking the kiss and leaving your head spinning.Â
âNow, be a good girl, and let me finish this book,â he says, tucking you into his chest again before picking up his book from the grass.
You open your mouth to argue with him. Nothing comes out.Â
Instead, âgood girlâ gets stored away for when you do what youâre told.
I love your keeping up with the Fushiguros series! You write beautifully. I was wondering how Megumi and/or Gojo would react to reader being hit on. But reader doesnât notice.
âwhich one is it?â gojo asks, resting megumiâs baseball bat on his shoulder.Â
itâs no secret that gojo and megumi donât agree on a lot of things.Â
like, a lot of things.Â
they donât like the same foods, the same genre of movies, or the same style of clothes. they can never agree on what shows to watch in the morning or whether certain items are recyclable or not.Â
but this is one front that they will always be united on. Â
the boy scans the park, huffing as he points the offender out. âthere.â
their target for this mission? male. mid to late twenties. single. a threat that must be eliminated at all costs.
heâs sitting on the same park bench that you and tsumiki are on, both of you laughing as he tells you a joke.
âdoes he always sit with you guys?â gojo asks, lifting his sunglasses to peer across the playground to where you are.
âyeah,â megumi confirms, glaring.Â
gojo glances down at his own ten year old, touched that theyâre actually on the same page for once in their lives. but heâs prompted to look back over when he hears your laugh once more, tensing when he sees the man reach across the back of the bench to touch your shoulder.
thatâs his final straw.
âalright, hereâs the plan,â he starts with the utmost seriousness, crouching down to the kidâs height. âweâre going toââ
âdig a hole in the field and bury him in it,â megumi finishes a little too decisively.Â
âuh, no,â gojo laughs nervously, reconsidering whether horror movies are a good way to practice channeling cursed energy. he taps the baseball bat against his palm. âweâre just gonna scare him a little. show him and everyone in this park whatâll happen if they try to make a move on whatâs mineââ
megumi kicks his shin.
âours, sorry.âÂ
so they move in. megumi takes two strides to match each of his, but they still look every part the intimidating sorcerer duo theyâd grow to be one day.Â
you see them coming right away, and gojo watches you cycle through emotions faster than tsumiki goes through strawberry milk. confusion, realization, and finally horror.Â
âsatoru,â you say, in that tone with that look on your face (the one that often precedes a lecture).Â
heâs about to casually cut into the conversation when a little boy (the manâs son, he assumes) cuts in front of him, bashfully handing you a handful of dandelions.Â
megumi doesnât try to hide his disdain, scoffing under his breath about how they were just weeds.
oh, gojo realizes as he glances down at the kid. so heâs not the only one whoâs jealous.

âsynopsis: Two exes who ended on bad terms happen to not only meet each other again after 4 years, but end up working in a same place. Things happen which spills the old can of worms. Will they break their professionalism and get back together or will it end worse this time?
âa/n: Saying he doesn't care. Sure. Anyways enjoy.
thinking about how much prison changes toji and how different he is the day he gets out. how 7 years of repenting for his crimes completely warps his brain and leaves him with lasting habits he will probably never get rid of.
you donât quite realize how almost a decade of seclusion from the worldâs developing tech affects him. itâs silly, how he doesnât quite get what an air fryer is or how it works, lashing out and trashing the poor machine after hours of trying to heat popcorn in it.
how he sits cross legged on the floor in front of the couch messing around with the voice-to-text feature on the TV remote, giggling to himself when the text comes up wrong.
how he doesnât seem to care for his old phone anymore, discarding the dated piece of technology in favor of a burner with a little keypad so he can text you. how he still finds himself whispering on phone calls with you in public, the residual fear of getting caught is something he still wont shake.
youâve slowly come to realize just how much he hid from you while behind bars. the things he didnât want you to see, the toll it took on both his mind and body. you trace the new scars on his abdomen one lazy afternoon, feeling him go completely rigid once he realizes he canât hide them from you anymore.
theyâre deep. fleshy pink slashes with raised edges mirroring the scar that runs through his lip. âyou shouldâve seen those other guys.â he tells you with a hesitant chuckle, trying to ease your mind. you believe him when he says it, recalling countless testimonies from terrified jail guards whoâd witnessed his wrath firsthand.
he thinks he might get them covered up, adding to the endless expanse of ink that litters his body. his latest pieces have all been dedicated to you, and lord knows he wants every reminder of you etched into his skin.
toji hides his grief from you. hides how his heart goes into overdrive in large crowds, head constantly whipping back because his mind still believes the men around him want to drive a shank through his neck.
you still notice though. you notice how he sleeps in the fetal position now, knees drawn up as far as they can to protect as much surface area as possible. he holds you when he can, usually when itâs still light out. pressing soft kisses to your hairline and humming a song you cant quite decipher.
he yelped the first time you bear hugged him from behind, whipped around and held you down by your neck until he eventually came to his senses and broke down with a whimpering apology. youâd forgotten about it since, though you notice how hesitant he is to sleep with his back to you now.
you want to tell him that itâs ok. that you itâs normal to see aspects of his former life in his new one. especially after spending so much time in it. that itâs normal to be scared when things take him by surprise and suddenly heâs been transported back behind the walls of a dingy 4-person cell.
heâs still able to provide the same luxuries he was able to gift you when his sole form of income came by means that were more than immoral. old connections come to the two of you, offering positions at their respective companies to help the older man get back on his feet.
what toji canât do is stay sane working a normal job.
donât get him wrong, the money is good, maybe even better than what he was making before. he just wishes being a CFO wasnât such a fucking bore. he used to wear suits to feel good about himself, mindlessly indulging in the luxuries he could always afford.
now itâs just his uniform, what heâs expected to wear as he crunches numbers in a penthouse office. he canât even light up as he does it, his probation officer would probably smell it on him and make him piss in a damn cup.
he misses being stuck in a locked room 22 hours a day. at least there he knew heâd never be able to get his hands on any bud. the drugs in prison arenât the kind that you want to mess with, toji knew that even before he had an inkling that heâd be spending nearly a tenth of his life in there.
he asks himself if he even deserves a job like this, a job where he has so many assistants that he practically does jackshit all day, twiddling his thumbs on a 10 thousand dollar couch while he contemplates if he should just say fuck it and roll a joint.
he wouldnât do that though, not after how proud you were to see that heâd turned his life around as soon as he got out. maybe heâll start using nicotine patches instead.
toji loves you. that much is obvious. you see it in the way his body shows its vulnerability around you. the way his muscles soften when you lay on top of him while the two of you binge films on the couch. the way heâs still too shy to ask you to lace your fingers with his in public, scared youâll somehow be corrupted by hands that have dealt out an immeasurable amount of harm.
you tell him to just take it one day at a time on the mornings where you send him off to work, tightening his tie and smoothing down his collar to show off the ink he has there. and toji thinks heâs never loved anyone else quite like how he loves you.
âI think you still love me, but we canât escape the fact that lâm not enough for you. I knew this was going to happen. So Iâm not blaming you for falling in love.â
â Haruki Murakami, South of the Border, West of the Sun
warnings. ahhh soft toji đĽş, lovesick toji, heâs so in love with you, cursing, he struggles w his emotions, angelic yn, simp toji, soft yandere.
note. this is so sweet tbh, short but sweet. share feedback? ENJOY!
You drive Toji insane.
And you donât even have to do anything to make him go crazy over you, youâre sleeping? Heâs hawking over you, youâre cooking? He wants to fuck you senseless on the kitchen counter.
You smile at him? He feels his heart actually melting.
Toji Fushiguro wasnât a soft man. But youâve turned him into this lovesick guy. He doesnât mind though.
Youâre his everything.
Yet, Toji doesnât know how to express his love for you. Heâs not good at love. The feelings that have his heart in a grasp are buried deep inside him.
And he knows you deserve so much better than a man like him.
âToji? Sweetheart what are you thinking about?â He blinks twice, your face right infront of him and he almost gasps in surprise.
Youâre so beautiful, fuck, heâs the luckiest bastard in the world.
âMe? Uh⌠just this jobâŚâ he trailed off. You raise your eyebrows at him but nod. âOkay.â You reply. âI hope youâre not stressed about stuff.â
Toji wants to love you forever.
How could you be so caring? He doesnât deserve someone like you. âYN?â He calls out your name before realising.
âYeah?â
âIâŚâ he breathes, his nerves are wrecking. âIâŚI love you.â
He finally mutters it out, itâs like his heart has freed of a huge fear.
He looks down to the side immediately, avoiding eye contact with you, because if you see his eyes, youâll see his vulnerability.
Heâs so vulnerable around you.
âI know you do, Toji. I love you too, very much.â You grab his face, he tilts his head slowly to see your face once again.
And God your beauty takes his breath away every single time.
âI-I really do YN. Iâm sorry if I donât say it often.â Toji confesses to you, looking into your eyes and he feels calm.
Youâre an angel. Heâs convinced.
âI just⌠love you so much, YN.â
Toji searches your face, and he sees your eyes sparkling with happiness, your lips are closed but they are curved into a smile.
âPlease donât ever leave me, I know you deserve so much fuckin better than me.â He pulls you in for a hug, you embrace him, his whole body relaxes in your embrace.
âYouâre so lovely Toji, you know that?â
He only nuzzles his face in your neck, inhaling into your scent.

written for @gatoru. gn!reader, the reader and gojo are married with kids, otherwise canon!compliant, light mentions of blood, angst with a happy ending, manga spoilers, probably going to become a full series, my man is homeđ
âno sorcerer dies without regrets.â it was a phrase principal masamichi liked to repeat to prospective sorcerers; you remember when he said it to itadori as you and your husband stood behind the eager, pink-haired teen that very first day he arrived into the jujutsu world - just a vessel for sukuna.
and now that same king of curses - having taken the form of your beloved adopted son megumi instead - knocks you straight down from miles high.
so here you are - falling, dying, regretting. regretting that you couldnât see megumiâs often hidden smile again, or share banana bread with nanami one last time, or laugh as nobara gets excited at the smallest urban details of tokyo.
but then, life flashing before your eyes each second feeling like an eon - you start remembering the good too.
your kids are safe; the little pair of toddlers with their fatherâs white hair and blue eyes, happily tumbling around the beaches of kenya with miguel, unaware of the chaos and death surrounding you.
your students are strong. so strong. you got to live and love so many people - too many to name; yuuta, ieri, ichijiâŚ
and satoru.
maybe itâs the rush of chemicals as your bleeding body plummets thatâs causing you to hallucinate but itâs like you can see it all. like you can feel it all.
you can taste the sugar and dough of all the dessert shops heâd force you to raid with him at ungodly hours of the night. you can feel the tight grip of his larger hand around yours and how much you treasured the very act of him releasing his limitless barrier just to squeeze your warmer palm. he always ran cold and so there was a chill to the way heâd touch you and to his his lips would gently and teasingly come down to yours. then to your jaw, then to your neck.
you can feel how tight heâd hug you - sometimes joyously like when he swung you around the second you told him heâd be a father - and to twins no less - and sometimes in a fit of anger and sadness. the cold christmas morning where he killed suguru and clung to you so tightly as if you too would shatter and leave him the second he let go.
you hear the sound of his laugh, of his moans and whines when he was inside you, of his sighs of boredom on the train or when meeting with the higher ups he so loathed, his snores, or his words when he was an arrogant teenager who would use a new pick up line on you every day - theyâre all ringing in your ears.
no sorcerer dies without regrets. thatâs true but you still had a good life. a life with him in it. you close your eyes completely ready to smash against the ground and feel it end.
and then you stop. not on wood or pavement, no. youâre completely paused and held against cool skin and cloth. you didnât just slow, you stopped dead. youâre paused in the air and as the adrenaline courses through your veins you think surely youâve already hit the ground and died instantaneously. surely, this stillness is whatever comes after.
but youâre not dead because you can feel yourself breathing. and hear your own heartbeat pounding in you head. eyes scrunched shut, all the memories stop and you confirm your own survival with a heavy inhale.
everything should smell blood and cold air and cement. but instead the scent filling your nose is that distinct mix of brushwood, cologne and mochi. the ringing in your ears lessens as your breathing steadies, replaced by a single, calming apology.
âsorry, my love.â
you hesitantly open your eyes, soft white hair and blue sky-filled ones meeting your gaze with a soft, ever-confident smile.
âi didnât mean to keep you waiting.â
âsatoruâŚâ you can barely breathe it out, taking in that heâs really here, really free, really holding you like a bride. he leans down so his forehead is against yours, hair mingling together as your breathing slows.
âdonât speak.â he murmurs softly, watching your cursed energy start the technique reversal process to heal yourself - as much as he missed your voice, your focus should be on your wounds. his eyes turn to sukunaâs direction, an unhinged anger hiding underneath his otherwise happy eyes at how the vile curse so deeply injured the love of his life.
âmegumi bound himself in there, yeah? so i can kill him and not hurt our kid.â
you nod; overwhelmed as you are, your heart softens at how itâs still the same satoru who would take silly videos at megumiâs middle school graduation - a proud father-figure ready to kill the parasite thatâs using his student as a host.
âand the twins? you got them out of japan?â
he warps you away from all the carnage and exhales in relief when you nod in soft confirmation. you take in your surroundings. this is your bedroom. the darkness of a simple domain covers the outside - no curses will get in. itâs home - for the first time since this disastrous chain of events started youâre home. youâre somewhere safe, your family is safe, and gojoâs here.
âthatâs all i need. you did more than enough and gave him one hell of a fight, so heal up until i come back - no one will find you here.â
you open your mouth to speak but you donât even know what to say; that youâre glad heâs home? that youâre sorry for not managing to kill sukuna or kenjaku in time? that you counted every hour he was gone afraid youâd never see his handsome face and confident demeanor again - that you love him more than life? should you thank him for saving you from certain death?
instead before you can make a solid thought, he pats your head, strokes down your face with a familiar touch and - after what felt like an eternity apart - presses his lips to yours over and over and over until heâs sure youâve memorized both his taste and the fact that heâs here to stay. then he turns to go back with one confident proclamation.
Gojo - Fucking dies from cuteness overload. He thinks youâre the most adorable little thing in the world and he lives by it. Goofy as fuck; he clutches his heart, and stretches a hand as if trying to reach you dramatically as he falls to his knees while yelling ânooOooOoOoO how could yoOoOuUuuU!!â Donât worry though, heâll find you later and smooch the life out of you while giggling; by the way, his innocent kisses are easily turned into heavy make outs.
Toji - Running? From him? Not gonna happen, but good luck trying anyway. Fast as fuck, your ass better be an engine if you wanna try that shit on himâhe looks terrifying as hell so you have to pray to god for ten days straight before trying this scary mf. Heâll catch you and accidentally break your skullâŚjust kidding lol, heâd probably grab you by the hair though and slam you really hard against any surface so he can shove his tongue down your throatâŚfull of lust and passion !!
Nanami - How would you run if you are trapped under his massive arms?? He snakes his arms around you when he kisses you, one around your waist while the other is around your shoulder as he holds the back of your head. There is no such a thing as a peck with this man, all kisses have to be deep and lip bruisingâunless he is in a hurry, which is rare, but you manage and he catches you so fast it makes you wanna die from embarrassment when he gives you a confused look.
Geto - A soft smile curls on his lips as he chortles lightlyâfinding you too damn cute. Calmly walks around until he finds you, he kisses the top of your head, then your cheeks, your eyes, the tip of your nose, and trails soft kisses along your jaw until his lips reach your ear. âNever run away from me,â he whispers, almost darklyâit makes you shudder harshly before your mouth is covered by his own.

Nothing could have prepared you for Satoru walking through your doors in the dead of night. Here you are, curled up on the couch with a tub of ice cream and teary eyes. You froze mid bite. With the spoon halfway to your mouth. Blinking, once, twice. Rubbing your eyes as he makes his way over to you.
"Thought you'd be a little more excited to see me."
You are; if he's real that is. You're not entirely convinced that he's in front of you. Thus you reach out with a shaky hand, and poke his cheek. The breath you let out is loud; you hadn't even realized you were holding it in.
"it's you," you whisper.
"It's me." Satoru gives you a lopsided smile.
You unravel yourself from your spot. Reaching timidly out to him again, repeating your words over and over. "it's you, it's you." And they slowly become a little incoherent as they morph into quiet sobs. He doesn't waste another second and scoops you into his arms.
What is there to say? Where do you even start?
"We can talk later." He mumbles, as if he knows.
You nod into his neck, burying yourself as far as you can go. Mumbling delicate words, "I missed you."
And you're not sure how reunions between lovers are supposed to go but you had thought that it would be grand and dramatic. Tears flooding the room, and loud wails filling up the spaces the salty waters couldn't reach.
This reunion is anything but loud. It's quiet Filled with shock and grief. There's nothing particularly grand about it. And the wails you had thought were going to come are breathless, trapped in your throat.
It takes a moment before he peels away from you. He bears a huge grin as he holds out a single flower â it's actually a weed. And it feels like for the first time in years, you smile. You chuckle, ready to break the news.
"That's a weed, pretty boy."
"Huh? I thought it was a flower."
You let out a breathy laugh. Taking the little weed into your hands. Eyes gazing on it tenderly as you do, "it's the thought that counts, I suppose."
"I was trying to be romantic. Hoped I could win your heart back if I picked you a bouquet on the way home."
"The bar is low, huh?" You nudge your nose against his cheek, "thank you."
Maybe your love is akin to the little weed he picked up. Unexpected, and with its own sense of beauty. Resilient in its pursuit to survive. Persistent and a little annoying. But through the right eyes they're just as beautiful as the moon flowers they find themselves sprouting next to.
"I missed you," he finally says.
And he sounds a little small; defeated. Nothing like the almighty image he carries. But it's only in the darkness does this side come out â the only time that's reserved for you.
You've found that nights are when lovers meet, because bustling life and busy schedules hold them apart. Or in this case; a box.
The sun tells them, no, the time is not now. But the moon, it welcomes them with open arms, offering the showers of domesticity they've come to enjoy.
This is where Satoru comes to meet you, in the space you've made home. It's only deep into the night where your love bursts into a vivid red glow. It's when he dances with you in your whispered laugh. And when he smiles as you give him a twirl, and it's as he takes you for a dip does his heart kiss yours.
The love you share shimmies around, hopping on its feet in the music you both make. And it simmers when you pull him in to rest against you. Continuing on with a soft sway to the white noise that lingers.
This is an intimacy thatâs reserved for when souls collide in these cream coloured rooms. Where the walls are covered in memories and filled with pointless things. Itâs where you'll find voices are barely above a soft murmur; scared they'll wake up the world.
And as the silence engulfs you, neither of you really mind. Truthfully, thereâs nothing to say, or rather thereâs nothing that hasnât been said. Because even as still as the silence presents itself, itâs heavy and already carries that of which has been spoken before â and will be again.
And perhaps no words really need to be spoken when lovers reunite. The tenderness of touches speak for themselves. And as you both dance in this dimly lit room, you decide to end the night with the words that you've been waiting to say for a while now.

âsatoru? you okay?â you ask, âyou're zoning out a lot.â sipping on your juicebox, your eyebrows furrow in concern. something's wrong with gojo todayâhe's distant, unresponsive and quiet. he's there physically but he's not there.
gojo responds with a hum, turning his head to you before speaking, âi'm okay, y/n.â he plasters an artificial grin as he shoves his hands in his pockets, jumping off the railing whistling before he continues again, âyou ready to leave?â
suspicion clouds your mind. he's deflecting, you think. if there's another thing gojo's a master at, it's deflecting. a sour taste enters your mouth as a strong feeling overwhelms you. something's telling you gojo's on the brink of breaking.
concluding that it's best to not pressure him, you jump down to him. âya, let's go!â slinging an arm over his shoulder, you match steps with him, bringing up random subjects to help him clear his mind a bit.
ââ
the mind's a scary place. in the mind holds countless thoughts, each holding different emotions. some people disliked being left in their mind, gojo enjoyed it. gojo relished in the feelingâthe unhealthy feeling, though, it only held insanity; it's home to distasteful, unfiltered thoughts.
gojo sinks into the soft mattress, one arm resting over his eyes as he grins yet again. he thinks it's funnyâhilarious, even. who is he? he questions himself, but rather, what is he? what is his purpose?
for all his life, he never felt like himself. he disassociated from reality more than he let utahime chew off his ears. he feels unlike himself but did he even know himself?
gojo satoru, nonchalant to his peers yet disregards all respects for his enemies.
gojo satoru, the pride of the gojo clan.
gojo satoru, the strongest jujutsu sorcerer.
gojo satoru, gojo satoru.
again, his head feels fuzzy. swallowing a harsh gulp, he feels his mouth go dry, his heart rate increases each second, static covering his vision, he's near his limit.
humans feared the dark, ready to dismiss it but gojo greets itâhe greets it with hazed eyes and his signature playful smile.
when's the last time gojo's let himself go? he wonders, looking for the absent answer. cold sweat introduces itself to the stage named âgojoâ. he clenches his jaw hard, cracking his knuckles in attempts to distract himself.
the tsunami (insanity) grows in height each second. it sneers at the humans (gojo) below, grinning at the fear-instilled bodies before it crashes, dominating and marking the area (gojo's mind) as its own. it muffles the ear-bleeding noise (his remaining sanity) as it finally settles inâcrashing everything like a tyrant overtaking his soon-to-be throne.
you again, huh? gojo thinks. he talks to himself, looking at the bloodied teenager. he, the teenager, is wreckedâbeaten yet standing. a shadow blocks off everything on his face but one eye that illuminates in gojo's view.
it's a one versus one. a fight with himself; a fight with one of his many versions. to be honest, he'd rather have a battle with six year old gojo.
gojo turns off his infinity, though there's not a single reason to but he doesn't know that. he's already given into the feeling that's been creeping around him like a cat creeping around some tuna.
in gojo's mind currently, he's being attacked by everything. geto, toji, random people and curses he killed, himself, hell even sukuna; they're all at him at once.
he doesn't know why nor does he want to know. all he hopes for is that someoneâmore specifically youâbrings him back to his damned reality.
ââ
âshould i..? but it's kinda late...â mumbling to yourself, you fight your demons for an answer. your watch reads â11:27 PMâ and your right consciousness tells you to leave, he's probably asleep but your demons tell you to open that damn door.Â
you'd leave if you didn't suddenly remember the way he was lost in his head earlier. âyou know what, fuck it.â you say to yourself before announcing your arrival, âsatoru, 'm here!â
no response, which isn't uncommon yet the aggravated pores say otherwise. kicking your shoes off at the door, you enter his living room. it's dimly lit showing little signs of activity. did he even eat dinner? you question before resting the brown bag of snacks on his counter.
humming in disapproval, you quietly wander until you reach his room's door. a dark energy emits from under the doorâalmost as if a grade a curse broke in. clicking your tongue, you knock softly on his door, âsatoru?â
yet again, no response. maybe he's really asleep, you think but the overwhelming feeling that something isn't right forces you into his room.
in your vision lies gojoâa raw gojo. there he lays, a numb body with an expressionless face, eyes red but closed. taking quiet steps to his bed, you sit on the edge brushing his fringe gently with a finger.
with that, he opens his eyes. he looks drained, tired, done; his body feels unrealâas if it's not his own. pushing the weak feeling aside, he greets you with another artificial smile and a hoarse voice saying âhey.â
he looks at your worried expression yet does nothing to soothe it. usually, he'd crack a stupid joke but he doesn't have the energy. even breathing tires him out.
you don't talk to himâat least not yet. right now you're busying yourself with the state he's in. his face holds little energy, his chest moves up and down in slowed rhythm, his adam's apple constantly dances at his every swallow, his eyes show no emotion that's not exhaustion. in short: he's done and completely dusted.
âyou caved in again, didn't you?â questioning him with intentions of receiving an answer, you turn around to reach for your bottle of water.
âi guess i did.â he answered, eyes following your moves as he doesn't know what to focus on.
sneaking a hand under his head, you move the bottle to his lips, gesturing for him to drink. gojo accepts the water, downing at least half before laying back down. he sighs deeply, closing his eyes again as the aftermath of his episode settles in.
âwanna talk about it?â
ânah, i'm just chilling with the consequences y'know.â
âsatoru.â
âmy bad.â quick to apologise, a light laugh escapes him before he sits up to match you.
leaning against the headboard, gojo pulls you into frame, snaking his arms around your waist as he sinks his head into your shoulder. you lean into him, raising a hand to pat his head before speaking.
âhow about we relax in the bath, hmm?â
âinna few,â he replies, tightening his grip on you before he continues, âjust stay like this, please.â
you whisper a soft âokayâ while you play with his hand, intertwining your fingers before bringing them to your lips for a kiss.
Time is confusing, and you realize so when you stand in front of the Gojo estate after four years of not coming anywhere near it. It feels like forever the last time you stood right in front of the main entrance, but time feels like itâs going so fast. As you stand in front of the door, you feel a lump in your throat. Your hands are shaking, and youâre trying your best to calm yourself down before bringing your hand to ring the doorbell. You got past the front gateâ You definitely have to go through with this now.
Last time you heard from Satoru was when he ended things with you. You remember foolishly waiting for him to call again, but he never did. When you tried to contact him, his number changed. And the last time you stood in front of this door, you were hiding the fact that you were five months pregnant. You came to share the news with Satoru because he deserved to know that you were carrying his child, even if he didnât want anything to do with you. But his mother opened the door only to announce to you that he had gotten married. You can recall the exact words she told you,
âHe went on a vacation before going back to school. He decided he wanted to go gamble in Vegas and he met someone there, and impulsively decided to get married. Not that I have to explain anything to you.â
It didnât make sense at all, but your pregnancy hormones at the time made you bawl your eyes out. She shut the door right in your face, something that you didnât understand why. She never came to the door to greet anyone, it was as if she knew you were there and chose to open the door to humiliate you.Â
There was a big wedding ceremony in the following months, right on Satoruâs birthday. The same day your son decided to make his big entrance, even though he wasnât due until January. Looking back at it now, youâre so grateful your son came the day he did because otherwise you wouldâve been bawling your eyes out as videos of his wedding came out, but luckily you were busy with your newborn. When he came into your life, you vowed to never go near the family again butâ
Sadly, things have changed.Â
You sigh before you ring the doorbell, youâll have to do it eventually and standing outside the door wonât do anything to help your case. Just as expected, within seconds, the door opens. Itâs not Mrs. Gojo like that last time you were here, that woman never opens the door. A familiar face opens the door, a woman that worked alongside your mother for years, before your mother quit. The woman smiles at you before she asks,
âWhat are you doing here?â
âI have to talk to Mrs. Gojo. Itâs urgent.â You stumble over your words, your nerves getting the best of you. All the way here you practiced what you were going to say, but youâre still not ready. Youâre not even close to being ready.
âIs it about a job?â She asks and you nod in response. She ends up sighing before saying, âWeâre currently not hiring.â
âI knowâ I just have to talk to her. Itâs urgent. PleaseâŚâ You respond before she can shut the door in your face. You know the woman in front of you adores you, after all, she watched you grow up. But she wonât hesitate to shut the door in your face because Mrs. Gojo doesnât like beggars, and Mrs. Gojo somehow knows everything that goes on in the estate. âI just need a minute of her time.â
âI canât risk itâ Iâm sorryââ She begins and you hear from inside her voice as she asks,
âWhatâs going on there? Who is it?â And you hear her heels hitting the marble floor as she walks over to the door. You both freeze as you wait for her to get there. She scrunches her nose up in disgust when she sees you. She crosses her arms and asks, âWhat do you need? If itâs about your mother, Iâm not taking her back.â
âItâs about a job for meââ Youâre about to get cut off by her slamming the door shut, the same way she did four years ago. But you stop it. You manage to stop it before the door completely closes. âItâs in your best interest if we talk.â
âI doubt it.â She responds. Before she can actually shut the door in your face, youâre forced to confess,
âI had a son almost four years ago and heâs Satoruâs son. Itâs in your best interest to help me out.â You have to blurt out, and she freezes. She furrows her eyebrows and thinks about your words for what feels like forever. You reach into your back pocket to pull out your phone and look for pictures of your son.
âHow would I know that youâre not lying?â She finally asks, and you show her the picture of your son, the boy who is nearly identical to Satoru. She stares at the picture, studying every feature of the young boy before ordering, âCome inside. We have to talk this over.â
You do as she says and you walk inside, following her around the house until you finally reach her office. She walks over to her chair and takes a seat, sighing heavily before she says, âWeâre going to do a DNA test before anything. I donât know who youâve been messing around with.â
âOf course.â You answer because you donât know what else to say.
âWeâre not hiring anywhere...â She replies. However, she wonât worry too much about it until DNA results tell her that your child is her grandsonâ But that child is clearly Satoruâs son. As much as sheâd like to deny it, thatâs her grandson. At least he looks the part. âIâll figure out a job for you if it turns out that heâs my grandsonâ If heâs not, Iâll make your life miserable for coming to my house and lying to my face.â
âThereâs no need to worry, maâam. Itâs impossible for Ren to be someone elseâs child.â You respond. She silently stares at you, trying to remember the timeline of everything.
âHow old is Ren?â She asks.Â
âHe turns four on December 7.â You answer, her eyebrows raising when she hears the same birthday as her son. She sucks her bottom lip between her teeth before she shakes her head disapprovingly.
âThereâs too many similarities.â
âWell life is funny, isnât it?â You reply which makes her roll her eyes. You awkwardly stand around the office, looking at the pictures that she has of her sonâ None of her late husband. That marriage was hardly real. You remember being awakened one too many times to Mr. Gojo sneaking around with servants. âI just need a job for a bit. Until I find something that pays well.â
âA personal assistant. You can be my personal assistant, Iâve been meaning to get one.â She responds, and you furrow your eyebrows in confusion. She has at least five servants that do every job that a personal assistant does. You also canât complain about it.
âWhat would my job entail?â You question and she shakes her head.
âGive me your contact information and weâll stay in touch.â
Everything is sorted out within a week. To no surprise, your son is Satoruâs biological child, and with that information, Mrs. Gojo plans everything. Youâll be her personal assistant, which is pretty much like working as her maid but with a better job title, and a couple extra responsibilities. She has additional rules as well.
The first rule is to not attempt to contact her son and tell him the truth about Ren. Satoru must stay in the dark about every single detail, which isnât too hard since heâs currently living in a different country with his wife. The second ruleâ The one that you were most unhappy about was the fact that she wanted you to move into the home. She wanted to be closer to her grandson, and the only apparent way was to make you move into the place with her.
Unlike other workers, you got a room in the main house and your son did as well. Still, you arenât too comfortable with the arrangement.
The final rule is to follow the schedule she gives you. To follow her every order. You donât know whatâll happen if you ever choose to defy her, and you choose not to find out. Knowing her, youâre surprised that she didnât try to take your son away from you. Youâre grateful that she didnât, even when you came to her accepting thatâd possibly happen. Youâd be fine knowing that your son would grow up having the best opportunities.
Youâre also grateful that she didnât question your situation much. You just have to make ends meet, especially since your mother is no longer working due to health related issues.
Itâs just a temporary arrangement. Even though it seems like itâll be hard to leave, mainly because your son asks,
âIs this my room, mommy?â Ren looks around the room with big eyes. The room is the size of the apartment you were living in, and not only that but itâs decorated for a kid his age. You already know that the play room is filled with new toys for him to play with.
âIt is, honey.â You respond, patting his snow-white hair. Youâre smiling at him while he walks around the room. âBaby, remember, this is all thanks to your other granny. When we see her, youâll thank her for it.â
âOkay.â He answers. He has to check out every corner of the room because otherwise he might miss a very important detail. âWho is my other granny?â
âYou two havenât met yet. Youâll meet her soon.â You reply. The young boy looks up at the wall where he sees a TV, and he gasps.
âIs that mine, mommy?â He asks excitedly, and you end up nodding.
âBut weâre still going to have the same rules, Ren. Youâll have a limit.â You say, and he nods his little head in response. You doubt heâll listen to you. Someone will be watching over him, so youâll ensure that he has a screen time limit. âAlright, baby, when youâre done seeing your new room, we have to go see your granny. Sheâs in her office.â
âOk. Iâm finished.â He walks over to you and his hand grips onto your pants as you both exit the room. When youâre in the hallway, you pick him up from the floor and you walk to Mrs. Gojoâs office. You knock on the door, and you patiently wait for her to say something. When thereâs no response within thirty seconds, your son gently knocks on the door again.
âCome in!â You both hear, and you can tell from her tone of voice that the woman is irritated. Youâre preparing your apology in your head while you step into the office. When you enter the place, you put Ren down on the floor. Her eyes are glued on your son while heâs looking around the place.
âRen, thatâs your grandmother.â You inform him and he looks at her. He slowly blinks as he watches her. She stands up and begins to step toward him, since meeting her grandson while sheâs sitting down doesnât seem like the best way to do things.Â
âHi Ren.â She tries to smile at the almost-four-year-old. He tilts his head as he looks up at her. Heâs just staring at her until he remembers your words of thanking his other granny for the room. He wraps his arms around her leg before he mutters,
âThank you for the room, grammy.âÂ
âOh it was no problem, Ren.â She answers, crouching down to look at him eye-to-eye. Her finger moves his hair to get it out of his face, a genuine smile coming to her face as she looks at him. He looks so much like Satoru, and her body fills up with regret for not being around Satoru as much when he was Renâs age. âDid you already have breakfast? Iâm about to go get something to eat, if youâd like to join me.â
âCan I go, mommy?â He looks at you, and you nod in response with a smile on your lips. She already gave you a list of all the things she wants done, and if you donât start soon you wonât be able to accomplish all of them. She stands up.
âLetâs go, Ren.âÂ
You had plans of leaving the Gojo estate within three months. You thought that was all the time you needed to find a different job and be able to make ends meetâ But not having to pay rent, having all food paid for, and having your boss nearly pay for everything you need really makes every job unsatisfactory. You only have to send your mother money, which is extra money that Mrs. Gojo includes in your salary. Sheâs understanding, even if sheâs overworking you. The past six months that youâve been working with her, youâve only had two days off.
Youâre out the door by six every morning, fulfilling every whim that your boss has. You donât get to see your son again till the evening, occasionally when you have to stop by the house, you see him playing around, and of course someone is always following him around. Mrs. Gojo might not like you in the slightest but Ren is the apple of her eye; although she wonât show it affectionately. She wonât let him go unsupervised for even one moment, which you find strange considering she was never overprotective over Satoru.
âMrs. Gojo, you wanted to speak with me?â You find her in the kitchen, eating a quick snack before continuing with her day, one that isnât too busy since everyone else takes care of her duties. Youâre not too worried about the fact that she suddenly called you since the woman nearly calls you a hundred times per day.Â
âYes.â She clears her throat and takes a sip of water before she speaks again. âA new position opened up at the company. Our chief marketing officerâs assistant quit, and I thought about how you need a job, so I told Ms. Ieiri that Iâd get someone for her.â
âOh⌠Thatâs so nice, but I already have a job.â You tell her, a bit confused. She furrows her eyebrows and then shakes her head.Â
âYou can juggle both jobs, canât you? Itâs not like you do much around here⌠But I guess if youâre struggling I can give some of your tasks to other workers.â She responds. She takes another sip of water before she casually shares, âYou and Ren are moving to an apartment I have nearby for a while. Satoru is finally taking over, and he and his wife will be staying here for a couple of weeks.â
âOhââ You freeze in your spot. A million memories flash through your head, and you canât come up with any words. âAlright.â
âYouâre still going to follow your morning routine here. I hope that you can handle seeing him without confessing our little secret.âÂ
âEverythingâ Everything is going to be fine.â You have to pause for a moment then youâre stumbling over your words. You didnât know what you were expecting. âWhy wouldnât it be?â
âRight.â She slowly nods as she stares you down. As you stand in front of her, you question why she wants to have a relationship with her grandson, but she wonât let her son have that kind of connection. âI need you to pick something else for meâ Well, for Ren.â
âOf course, maâam. You can text me the details.â
You prepare yourself for the worst. To see Satoru again and pretend like everything is just fine. Youâre also preparing yourself to have a second jobâ To become an assistant even though youâve had no previous experience and arenât prepared for the job. You arenât sure whatâs expected from you but youâre sure that youâll figure it out.
Twenty minutes away from the Gojo estate is where Mrs. Gojoâs apartment is. Itâs a luxurious apartment, one that you shouldâve been expecting but for some dumb reason you were expecting a run down place. Just like in her home, she made sure that a room was decorated for her grandson, and she made sure heâd have all the possible toys. She isnât too affectionate with him but she demonstrates her love through everything she buys.
âHey, Mrs. Gojo. The nanny you sent isnât here yet and Ren just threw up so I wonât make it there this morningâ Ms. Ieiri just texted me as well. She expects me to be on time since itâs my first day.â You leave the message on her phone, hoping that the woman will be somewhat understanding of the situation. You look at the time, and youâre already way too late.
You have no option but to change Ren into some other clothes, grab a bag with some items for him, and walk out of the door with him in your arms. Luckily enough for you, you have your own car that was gifted to you by the grandmother of your son. Youâre able to get to your workplace within minutes, which wouldnât have been possible if you had taken public transportation.
You exit the car, holding your son in your arms. Youâre speedwalking to the elevator of the building while Ren is trying to talk to you about dinosaursâ Or chickens, you arenât really listening. When youâre in the elevator, you put Ren down to check your phone. You donât find any messages or missed calls, which relieves you but stresses you out at the same time.
You keep pressing the button for the elevator to close faster, but it wonât. It feels like an eternity for the doors to close, and just as the doors are about to meet, a hand stops the doors. Your blood begins to boil, mad at the universe for making this day so terrible for you. What makes matters worse is when you hear the familiar voice.
âI told you weâd make it in time, love.â And it makes you push Ren into a corner and hide him behind you. Your hand goes behind you to go over his mouth, stopping him from making a sound.Â
âAre you sure your mother is going to be here, Satoru? Shouldnât we have gone to her house?â A tall woman with long black hair enters the elevator. You donât mean to stare at her and observe her, but itâs hard not to since you want to look at the woman that Satoru fell in love with. He enters right after her, and neither of them notice you, which youâre thankful for since you canât tear your eyes away.
âSheâs probably already working. Sheâs always busy.â Satoru says. They keep talking and your brain doesnât process the conversation. Youâre too busy wondering too much about many occurrences from your past. Youâre also trying to make sure Ren isnât visible or audible.
âWhy is that lady staring at us?â His wife tries to whisper, but you hear it loud and clear. You try to look away before Satoru slightly turns his head to look at you, but you canât. He sees you, and you make eye contact.
You look at each other for a moment, although time feels infinite. You both look to see how time has physically changed you, and you hate to see him the same. But when he looks at you, he can tell that youâre tired.
He opens his mouth slightly to speak, but he chooses to stay silent. You end up tearing your eyes away, while Satoru chooses to exit the elevator the moment it opens.
