The Beginning // Peter & Hugo
"Cold and gloomy days are my favorite." He told him, smiling brightly once more before leaning against the bar. The human in front of him was obviously engaged in their conversation, knowing this would be the perfect time to lure the man in so he could feed. Though, as he stood there, he couldn’t find the push to do it. This human didn’t need more confusion than he seemed to be feeling already.
The obvious nervousness in him made Hugo keep that part of himself away from this particular human. A blood bag would obviously do for the night when he got home. “I appreciate it. This town is filled with some rather mentally unstable people. I should know.” He said, laughing softly at his own joke towards his profession. “You’re welcome, though. I will most definitely help you out.”
He heard the small curse under the man’s breath, not wanting to draw attention to him. “So, we had our one drink. What would you like to do now?” He asked, wondering if the man wanted to up and leave after the one drink like before. But, to Hugo, the man’s thoughts said otherwise. Not like he could tell Peter that he knew this. The verbal confirmation of the situation was easier to get than explain why he could hear the man’s thoughts.
"You don't say?"
He smiled at him. Peter felt a little more calm after he started to clear his mind a little more. Maybe he should just give this guy a chance? He can't always shut people out because he's emotionally scarred. This guy's a psychiatrist... He should be able to understand? Doesn't he?
Peter sighed softly and then nodded when Hugo said he appreciate it. He let out a short chuckle, he did find it very amusing that he could joke about people in the loony bin. Peter thought about his own mental state for a moment, of the past two years... He's been fine... Or well he thinks he's been fine. He felt his head starting to spin a little more, the buzz from the alcohol getting to him.
"How about you show me where you live so that I have the whole night to actually back track and be sure to find my way next time."
What? Why did he just say that? He shouldn't... Ah crap he's slightly drunk, the only explanation. He gave Hugo a boyish smile and just shrugged his one shoulder, as if trying to tell himself. Fuck it... That happened... Oh well.
