・Neuvillette is an interesting idea for a platonic yandere. He is a ‘lawful’ person, but I do not believe that means his existence is mutually exclusive to obsession. …Even after all his time living as a human, he struggles to understand them. The legal code is what he clings to for guidance in navigating this unfamiliar world, and if he sees no use for it, he will use the rightful ‘natural order’ he knows to be just. More than anything else, as the Chief Justice and the Hydro Sovereign, he is fully in belief that he may decide both the law and the punishment.

・…To stir the ever-unerring Iudex to break his impartiality and distance is a difficult task, but not impossible. Most of which, it’d be much easier if you were not human- or at least not entirely so. Of course, we know that Neuvillette thinks highly of lifeforms that are of a material like him- he emphasizes the Melusine’s descent from a dragon-like progenitor in his admiration of them. …But most importantly, it is the detachment from humanity. Humanity is the favored creation of the Heavenly Principles- and I believe it is because of that he is so distant from them; there is a lingering resentment in his chest for the beings that are so adored by the Usurper. A dragon-like ancestor would probably encourage a sense of kinship further, but any sort of ‘distinction from man’ would most certainly make an easier basis.

・Now, onto more specifics. Neuvillette is a busy man, and so you likely have to come to public attention at least somehow for him to discover you. I think this is the second manner in which you may ‘detach yourself from humanity,’ and this one is not related to bloodline. Simply put: I think you’d have to make it as an outcast, of sorts. Whether you are pushed before the Oratrice at your young age from a crime of retaliation or the discovery of a cryptid feral child is plastered about copies of the Steambird, I believe that ostracization and having ‘nowhere else to go’ catches something in him. He, of course, was in quite a similar position when he was born into the skin of a human- and ingrained in his instincts is ‘natural order.’ …If a fledgling has no caregiver, then it is up to the community to become that caregiver. That is, in effect, both the reason and the denouement of his attachment.

・Almost directly dichotomous with the fact you would’ve had to gain public attention in order to get into this situation, your life with Neuvillette is incredibly private. He is described as only holding social events out of obligation, and most all of his relationships are etched in formality. ‘Natural order,’ once again, takes precedence over human societal concepts. As he is able to provide for your shelter, food, and necessities, then by all accounts all needs you might need to step away from the family unit for are met, and you do not need to leave the nest or talk to anyone else. It isn’t that Neuvillette really gets overly possessive or jealous at the thought of you meeting other people, even as he keeps you in his hoard like dragons cherish their valuables- it’s moreso that, in his mind, it is absolute that he is the most important person in your life, and the only member of your family. How could you possibly need anyone or anything else?

・…Blade is someone that is dispassionate to the world, outside of his lingering obsessions as Yingxing and the Mara that plagues him. That is perhaps why he sounds so interesting as a platonic yandere- garnering such a reaction from such a taciturn man. …Blade is shown to care for his fellow Stellaron Hunters, as constants and companions, but his relationship with them is hardly defined by obsession, nor do I believe any average child placed amongst their ranks would spark such interest as to define him as a ‘platonic yandere.’ So, what exactly could do the trick? I think many people’s first thought is of how his time as ‘Yingxing’ is still carved deep into his memory, and how meetings with old friends and foes bring a dark gleam into his eyes. It stands to reason that someone he met and had a close relationship with as Yingxing would do the trick in bearing this fruit. …Indeed, that is the simplest answer, that those happy memories alone and the power he could hold over your extended youth as a long-life species could drive his Mara-rattled brain to attach to you. But it is not the lone one.

・Naturally, to spark the attention of someone who is split between the two extremes of detachment and obsession, you might also look in the direction of what he already has such interest in. So, what exactly is it that Blade desires most? I’m sure you on the other end of the screen are able to answer this question easily, as he makes no attempt to hide his goal. What Blade wishes for the most is his own death, to be set free from this body which does not allow him to cross over to the other side. …You may find difficulty in identifying what a child could have to do with circumventing the force of nature that is the Abundance’s regeneration, but it lies in the fundamental emotion behind his desire. …Blade is exhausted of this waking dream called life, and he simply wishes to put himself to rest. Therefore, if something were to come to his attention, granting him a facsimile of the intense ‘rest’ he so viciously desires, I believe it is only natural that Blade would gain tunnel vision toward that existence.

・In Elio’s goals, he has recruited a group in which all involved seem incredibly tied to the nature of a path. Blade’s immortality comes from an Emanator of Abundance, Silver Wolf’s ‘future possibility’ is as the most powerful Emanator of Elation, Firefly fought Propagation by being forged of Propagation… and Kafka is said to be a Mirror Holder, in possession of a literal fragment of the Aeon of Beauty. Therefore, I find it plausible that he may recruit another Hunter from any number of paths that may ‘dampen’ the effects of the Abundance in a way that is cathartic to Blade. What that may be is to your own discretion- Equilibrium, Harmony, Voracity, Nihility, or any other path you have envisioned a reaction with Abundance from… a Stellaron Hunter tied to that path, capable of easing Blade’s pain, is the focus of today’s post.

・Blade’s very nature as distant with reality and having abandoned the interests of his past life means he is not the kind of person who exerts control with soft power. …As hard as he may be to read, Blade is incredibly simple in this situation. He clings to you and makes sure you’re around him so that he can receive the effects of your power. …Most of your regular day-to-day time together is, therefore, most likely sitting together in silence, or him wordlessly dragging you along with him and keeping you by him while he sleeps. As a Stellaron Hunter, you’re probably not living anything akin to a normal life with formal education or friends your age… so he does not need to try hard to isolate you. Whatever living situation Elio places you all in is probably enough to keep you secure for the large part in your day-to day life, even if his Mara may occasionally become frightening. I think the part Blade really shines as a platonic yandere, however, is on missions.
