Summary: 'The Speaker' is a BL manga that follows three boys who were all raised in an American orphanage together. Sam is the book smart and inquisitive one. Hal is brave and confident. Nobu is shy and quiet, but he has a good memory and he's more capable than he thinks he is.

Thanks to @everafter-aftereverafter's suggestion, I've uploaded all known English-translated chapters to this site. I added credit to the OG translation teams for Chapters 1-10 where I could find that credit. I'll still post about updates on this blog, but you can also conveniently follow there! :)

(Final note, please forgive the horrible picture/photo quality on some Ch 12 pages... The site I was using for raws went down, so I used my own books, but I don't own a scanner & also I'm a wimp and didn't want to rip up my book's spine :( luckily, an awesome pal has clean copies of chapters 13-16 raws, so this quality won't repeat for a while.)

No but seriously imagine it: You're at an anime convention at the MHA panel. Everyone is having a great time. The panelists seem to be a little excited. "We have a surprise for you guys" a staff memeber says. says. All of a sudden Horikoshi come out and says "Bakudeku is canon." When the crowd finale calms down, someone else starts speaking... "Gojo and Geto came back to life and are now married." Lights flash everywhere, and you see Isayama come out to say "Eren and Reiner fuck in the paths." Everyone in the crowd is going wild and crying. Then if things couldn't get any better, Dan and Phil walk onto stage and kiss, holding the gay flag.

According to LeBlanc, Mel is “an empath”, a “conduit and a mirror.” She can bend others’ magic to her own will. This explains why she’s so powerful, because she’s basically redirecting other people’s energy against them. So when she’s up against a powerful opponent she can turn that power against them. In other words, Mel isn’t just using her own innate power.

It also explains why she seems to only use her magic defensively — her target has to strike first in order for Mel to redirect that attack back onto them. And it’s not just magical attacks either. When Maddie fired a bullet at Cait, Mel redirected it to kill Maddie.

In my opinion, this power suits Mel perfectly. It’s technically non-aggressive, and reflects Mel’s natural talent for identifying others’ strengths and using them to her advantage.
