B-127 aka “Bee”

He was just too good at all of his other jobs! That’s what Sentinel told him when B-127 was stationed down on Sub Level 50. And how long ago was that? Somewhere between a long time and forever. Honestly, he has had no way of telling. He recharges when he's tired, and as long as he meets his regular quota, he never sees another bot.

It's a lonely existence. But he never stops to think on that. He doesn't like how it makes him feel when he does.

It's a complete - but welcome - shake-up to when miners Orion Pax and D-16 show up in his compartment, and Bee gets swept up with them (and some crazy lady who kneed him in the face) to the surface of Cybertron in pursuit of the truth. They uncover lies and mysteries that have been in place for vorns; they are granted transformation cogs, and their journey to bring the truth to Iacon becomes anything but easy. Something is wrong with Dee. He's changing, and not in the good way. Bee is eventually one of many to be captured with him and imprisoned by Sentinel - whose true colors are now on full display.

A battle against the false Prime's forces breaks out, in which Bee discovers the exciting developments his cog brings...and the planet-shaking transformations his two best friends finally take. One, their new Prime and noble leader - the other, their new sworn enemy who vows he'll be back to continue the fight.

R-02, or Roz as she’s known in the small space outside of her job, is the dutiful maidservant to the great Sentinel Prime - valiant leader of Cybertron. She’s spent most of her days in or near Sentinel’s personal tower and has never strayed far.

Though she is not aware of Sentinel's...dealings on the surface, she is certainly around him more than enough to know that...he is not all that he says he is. No - that's not it. More that he definitely...puts on a mask in front of the rest of Iacon City. That's not exactly a bad thing, though, right...? If he gets snippy with her, it's more than likely a fault on her end. It has to be.

Besides, it is not in her position to speak or think on such things. Rather, she consistently reminds herself how fortunate she is to be in the service of their Prime. And - given the poor, cogless miners she sees around now and again - how fortunate she is as a lowly servant to have her cog.

Can she transform? Yes! She’s been equipped with tools in her arms and hands that allow her to carry out whatever chore or task is given to her. Can she fully transform into a vehicle? If Sentinel had not given her a faulty T-cog, perhaps.

Roz does what she is told, and Sentinel is very good at his words. According to all she has known, her unique transformation is those tools of hers - the life of a servant (and nothing more) is the life she was meant for. Even if she did get curious about her further abilities…which she might…she dare not venture out and try them. It would be a great disrespect to her master.

And Airachnid is always watching her.

It will take something special and/or a matter of life or death (and a working T-cog) to make her discover her full potential…and her full transformation. And once Cybertron finds its rightful ruler in Optimus and the surface is no longer forbidden, that opportunity starts to arise.

Roz feels a natural pull towards the surface and with the permission from her friend-turned-boss, spends as much time as she can there. She keeps herself busy as a part of the new Prime's surveyor corps, exploring and mapping the wilds too long unknown to them. She finds comfort and belonging among the flora and fauna of the surface, and the maid once intent not to get herself dirty now returns to Iacon time and again, looking like she's growing a garden on herself.

These new wilds feel like home.

The truth behind it all is seeped in conflicts, allies, and severed relations across Cybertron's history - and the spark of a seemingly simple little maidbot might have more unexpected roots than she expected.

Rozzum Unit 7134

The sole "survivor" of a container ship run aground during a typhoon, Unit 7134 wakes on an island beach with not a human in sight. As for the many animals of the island, they neither know nor care about this strange creature's integrated multiphase task-helping programming - in fact, they're all afraid of and aggressive towards her. After a series of unfortunate events, the newly-named "Roz" finds herself damaged, unable to activate her homing signal, and caring for a lone goose egg.

The gosling hatches and imprints on Roz, leaving her faced with a task she has never been equipped to handle. Yet with the help of a crafty fox named Fink and an opossum mother named Pinktail, she builds a shelter and learns that her new scrawny gosling - Brightbill - will have to be prepared to fend for himself and fly south come winter.

Roz may not know this world, but she is dedicated and quick to adapt. The animals still fear her, but no matter. Protecting and raising Brightbill is causing her to have to reach beyond her programming to do what she needs to do - what her gosling needs her to do. She finds her judgment coming less from her processor and more from...somewhere deeper. And when this task is done, what then? She doesn't know who and what awaits her when she activates her homing signal. Perhaps she is in the wrong place. Perhaps she has become the wrong thing.

Roddy St. James

A canon character from Flushed Away

Age: Adult Species: Fancy Rat Height: 0'10" Weight: N/A Birthday: April 4th

Born and raised in the high-end of London, Roddy St. James has known no other world. He remembers scant little before he was adopted at a young age from the pet shop by a little girl named Tabitha and her family, brought to a Kensington flat to kive the pampered pet life. As kind as his new family was to him, as expensive as his cage and food and his trappings are as he grows up, he's still lacking the companionship that even he doesn't realize he badly needs.

That one changes one fateful night while the family leaves on holiday and Roddy has free roam of the house. One night, a party-going sewer rat named Sid bursts in through the pipes and claims the house as his own. Lacking any kind of strength or confidence to drive him away, poor Roddy is ultimately flushed down his own toilet and into the underground world of the sewers. Hundreds of his kind have made a thriving community here, but all that's on Roddy's mind is getting home to "up top" as the locals call the above world.

He ends up crossing paths with a scavenger rat named Rita and is immediately and unwittingly pulled into her dangerous dealings with The Toad - a blustery amphibian with a hatred for all rodents. After a close shave with him and accidentally blowing a hole in Rita's plans for providing for her family, Roddy strikes a deal with her. She gets him home up top, he pays her with a genuine ruby from his family's jewelry box. What they don't know is that the Toad is now after both of them for far more dangerous reasons than before.

Archie "Scraps" Centipede

A canon character from James & the Giant Peach. Primarily the film version, with inspiration from the book version.

Age: Adult Species: Eastern Red Centipede Height: 0'4.5" pre-magic, 5'9" post-magic Weight: N/A Birthday: June 16th

There's no telling how a bug of pure Brooklyn blood found his way all the way across the Atlantic Ocean and wound up all alone in the yard of a ramshackle house on a South England hill. He wants to go home, but it's not a practical journey for one little critter to make. The two awful human residents of the house are beasts in their own rights and despise bugs, so even venturing across the yard itself can be life-threatening.

It all drives Centipede stir-crazy to no end, and that's when his world is flipped upside-down in the course of just a few hours. While hunting for breakfast, he catches and eats what appears to be some kind of glowing green grub. Next thing he knows, he's the size of a human! He's not the only thing to encounter this strange happening, , as when he takes shelter in an (equally strange) giant peach that popped up on the yard's barren tree, he finds a whole host of bugs that went through the same growth spurt. Upon the entrance of the poor boy who lives with the two wretched aunts and the subject of better lives for all comes up, Centipede deems to take matters into his own claws. He cuts the peach loose with his pincers, sending it and his new companions rolling down the hill and right into the ocean.

New York is now the goal in sight for this party, which thrills the Brooklyn boy to no end. The journey sees him starting on rocky terrain and being an absolute curse to the group, even getting them lost through the lies of being a seasoned navigator. Centipede has pulled stuff like this before, but he's never grown close enough with those dragged into it that it weighs so heavily on his conscious. He's been touched by the motherly kindness of Miss Ladybug, the giving innocence of the human boy, James, and even the forwardness and steadfast nature of the old Grasshopper. He's even begun to fall for the terrifying beauty and caring soul of the tantalizing Miss Spider.

He ultimately risks death to get his new family friends back on course, newly inspired by each one of them to be a better man. All that to say when they finally do reach New York City, Centipede has found home in more ways than one.

Casa "Casita" Madrigal

One fateful night in the midst of tragedy, a mother and her three newborns needed a miracle. Sacrifice and grief and a plea for help all converged to bloom an enchanted flame. A protected valley formed in the midst of the Colombian rainforest, and standing above all within it, an enchanted house. Casita awoke with one sole purpose embedded in her walls – to protect Alma and her family. With so much pressure suddenly on the grieving single mother, the house practically became a second mother to her triplets. She aided in the care of little Julieta, Pepa & Bruno, watching them grow and marry and begin families of their own over the years. The birth of each new Madrigal in her walls made her colors shine anew – especially with the birth of Julieta’s youngest daughter. But as the increasing pressures within the family weighed down on them over time, so did it weigh down on Casita’s foundation.

It came to a head after Mirabel’s failed gift ceremony, when the stress was enough to push poor Bruno away from his family. And with the first crack in the tree came the first crack within Casita’s wall. Casita saw the terrible vision when Bruno did – she was aware what was to happen to her if things weren’t fixed. She provided Bruno a place to stay within her walls and could do little more at the time than trust her family would find a way. Yet 10 years and one more gift ceremony later, Casita can no longer keep her damage under the surface. She entrusts her secret only to Mirabel at first, hopeful that there was more to Bruno’s vision and she may hold the key to helping the magic. Both Mirabel and Casita do their best, but in the end, it doesn’t seem to be enough. She can’t hide her cracks anymore, and the rift in the family grows deeper.

All his life, young Héctor had wanted a family more than anything - and it looks like he’s finally getting his chance. It’s a distance from his patria, but similar in many ways. His new family, however......

They’re wonderful, actually. Julieta is the kindest woman he could ask for a mother and he has three - count them - THREE big sisters. But his family is......extraordinary. As is the house. How did a scrawny child born potentially out of wedlock wind up here?

Furthermore, it’s the first time a child has been adopted into the family name. He has talents of his own, particularly in music, but he’s surely still an outsider who won’t be getting a Madrigal Gift.

Humans aren’t the only ones to get a Christmas gift from Santa. When he visits the farm animals on Christmas Eve, he grants them the ability to speak for a short amount of time. Annabelle was born on Christmas Eve, so she had a thousand and one questions right out of the gate. She immediately became infatuated with Santa’s reindeer and the prospect of flying. Come next year, she’s determined to ask Santa for a special wish – to let her fly like a reindeer!

Born to the influential Count and Countess Ellington, Benjamin was in the crosshairs of the battle with Team Rocket from the very start. His father Jack is a famous enemy of the criminal society - one who has thwarted their plans time and time again. In the ultimate revenge scheme, a Rocket executive named Bolton kidnapped the baby boy right from his crib with plans to raise him into an unstoppable Rocket ace trainer. Despite Jack’s best search efforts, it seemed as though he would succeed.

Under the demeaning nickname of “Weedle”, Benjamin’s childhood is a brutal one. By the age of ten, he’s gone through a fair amount of training for his age and has even been charged with a Poochyena puppy to become his literal partner in crime. Yet it’s at this point in time - when he’s being trained to overtake his own father - when the truth of Bolton’s trickery slowly comes into view.

He escapes his captor and ditches Team Rocket - rescuing his Poochyena and an imprisoned Litten in the process. He has since returned to the mansion of his birth…though understandably under awkward circumstances. He’s getting to know the kind parents he never knew he had and a life where he isn’t treated like a slave. And since his Pokémon have been with him for so long, he holds them very dearly. Jack gave him an Eevee not long after his return home, and his team slowly grew more and more. It look him quite a long time to engage in a single battle, as they scared him too much and came with too many bad memories.

The count and countess soon realized, however, that Benjamin couldn’t stay in one place for long. He’s had enough of that in his life. With some thought and jitters and encouragement, the boy is eventually convinced to enroll abroad to Naranja Academy. His focus becomes the Humanities track and while taking these classes, he eventually realizes what he wants to do when he grows up. He’s already spent so much of his time at the family mansion rescuing Pokemon - half of his team came to him as either injured or abandoned - and he wants to keep doing that...perhaps one day at a much bigger scale. Something like a rescue center, where injured or abandoned Pokemon can be brought for treatment and the promise of a better life.

Spider was Ben’s first Pokémon, given to him as a partner when he was a Rocket grunt trainee.

Nyx used to be imprisoned by Team Rocket, but was one of the ones freed when Benjamin made his escape and she decided to stay with him. She is undoubtedly the team mother.

Charlie was a gift to Ben from his father upon his return - a sign of the future ahead of his son and an encouragement that he could make whatever he wanted of it. Named for a favorite author of Ben’s, Charles Dickens.

An Pokémon that Ben first found injured and nursed him back to health. Named for another one of Ben’s favorite authors, Edgar Allen Poe.

Lumi was raised from an egg Ben found discarded in the woods. She’s insanely attached to him for this reason.

A verse based off of the popular “Reverse AU” within the fandom. Things start generally the same, but it was Imelda who held on to the dream of music and one day left her family and never returned. And it was Héctor who hardened up, rejected music forever, and learned a new trade to support himself and his daughter. Between age and the constant underlying ache of being seemingly abandoned by his soulmate - like Imelda in the original story - he too has become jaded, strict, and seemingly very cold.

True, trauma before and after Imelda’s time in his life has built a shell around his proverbial heart. But he’s still the Héctor that would scale mountains for his loved ones. A loving father that didn’t take nonsense from anybody. A man that had no family to begin with, so put everything he had into raising Coco so that her and the generations following could know a better life - that’s exactly how Abuelita still talks about him.  The Héctor that we (and Imelda) once knew is indeed still in there and has never lost his incredibly deep love for his family.

An AU in which Héctor never met Imelda...in life. Rather than give him to the Santa Cecilia Monastery as a baby, his mother instead took him along in her search of his father. Twenty years down the line, Héctor Prieto is a reflection of his father’s name and mannerisms. Both his parents’ influences have made him the Héctor we know in many ways and glaringly different in others. A musician by passion but a thief by trade - and necessity. All he’s known is a life on the run through the loss of both parents, and that doesn’t change once he’s all on his own. Why should it?

He’s a more adept thief for sure, but that only saves his hide so long before a lawman’s bullet finds its mark during a heist and he awakes in the Land of the Dead. A crack in an upper rib is his forever badge of this fate. And while it appears that his father - the infamous Ramón Prieto - is doing some jailtime for continued offenses in this world and the last, Héctor is reunited with his mother. But in the few years to come, she doesn’t last long. Héctor is soon alone, once again, using what tricks he knows to get by while teetering on the edge of a decades-long imprisonment like his father.
