"I think so. How would my flock handle not having a sheepherder to lead them to the greener pastures?"
The kiss is freely given, that'll teach him. Though G might just steal another, while he's about it. It's lucky he's not at a critical juncture with the food.
"Karkat would be more upset, I think, than Kankri. Much like my boys, in that."
He abandons any semblence of makework and throws his arms around Chadox's waist, pleased to have him near.

The bread wasn’t the sort he was expecting, but he could hardly complain, and so he doesn’t. He scoffs at the food remark instead, returning to his task of beginning the rice-cooker with brown rice.
"Have you known me to forget for more than two days? I am fine." He laughs, a quiet sound. "Have you eaten burnt water, without me?"
"I was just checking. Gotta keep an eye on you, yknow?" Is his response, as well as pulling himself up to sit on the counter near him, his legs kicking slowly.
After a small huff and an eye roll, he speaks again. “Yes, Karkat and I are just wasting away. The only hope for us is a Turkish man’s attention and food, probably.”
"Is that where Kankri went? Starved?" He chuckles, wrapping an arm around Chadox to check he wasn't wasting away. The fact it was a hug was quite beside the point.
"I will just have to supply you with a surfeit of both."
Karkat, predictably, asks what Gamzee dropped before greeting him, and then they’re both off to their own devices.
In the kitchen, Chadox raises his eyebrows and sets the loaf on the counter, accepting the kiss with a smile. “I managed, somehow. I have no idea how you manage this ‘english’ thing.”
With a little chuckle, he slips past G to the oven, peeking inside and grinning. “It’s been too long since I had your cooking. How have you been, since I haven’t seen much of you and all. Been remembering to eat?”

>Chadox, after going to the store and getting bread (without mispronouncing it, luckily), pulls his car up to G’s house, and chases Karkat to the door. Karkat doesn’t knock, and instead just walks in, greeting Gamzee with a loud call of his name.
Chadox steps in and walks to the kitchen, smiling. “What’s cookin, good lookin?”
A large object drops, and Gamzee is out of his room and getting his lanky lope on to Karkat within moments. He greets him with the traditional, "Sup, motherfucker?". He gives Chadox a nod before both the preacher and the boys abscond.
A thick and mildly spicy smell pervades the little kitchen, its source just visible inside the oven. It does so without supervision, however: G smiles at Chadox upon his arrival, setting the rice preparation aside to lean and kiss him on the cheek.
"Tagine, tonight." He says, kissing Chadox's cheek again. "Did you correctly pronounce "bread?"

sounds like a plan. you need me to pick anything up on my way? and if so is it something i can pronounce because the lady at that market you said to go to last time laughed at me for my bad pronunciation.
Perhaps bring bread, then? That should be pronounceable enough. :o]

He was fine with not moving for now, because G was a cozy person to hug.
The larger man had to think about that, crinkling his forehead and returning the little cheek kiss.
"I had a sandwich at breakfast time? A late breakfast."
He didn't sound sure at all. All of a sudden the sweets behind Chadox smelt really good.
