your archers should also look like they are regularly doing 80lb loads on the fly machine because that's what drawing a bow is. they can skip leg day but all those lithe and willowy elf archers should have tits that could crack a walnut.
You know, I think Ring Fit Adventure is probably the most fun I've ever had from exercise that's actually supposed to be like a workout. Like, I know that if I was doing the exact same exercises in a gym or a class, I know I'd just feel like I'm suffering and bargaining with myself "okay, just a couple more reps then I can quit for the day". Because I'm just in a smelly room in shitty clothes, caked in sweat and surrounded by strangers and i'm not seeing any results from anything that I've been doing so it all feels pointless and there's just a seemingly insurmountable list of tasks I need to achieve and it's just another chore to drag myself through.
But with RFA, I don't feel that. Like, yeah I'm just jogging in place and occasionally stopping to do squats or leg lifts, but doing it here there's a level up bar increasing, doing the squats is killing goblins and ghosts and shit, there's tons of little immediate short term goals and an actual sense of progression that when i stopped for the day, it was actually a somewhat tricky choice, because I wanted to do more, but I wasn't sure if I had the stamina to get through another level. And then after I quit into the cool down, they list my actual fitness accomplishments for the session and I couldn't believe I managed to actually run a whole kilometer. If I was on an actual track or treadmill, it would have been the only thing I'd have been thinking about the entire time!
There really is something to be said about putting extrinsic value into something that promotes better health. Kudos to Nintendo on actually managing to do that.
Now if only it didn't average a cost of almost triple its MSRP.

oh wow that was fun!
So I did another True Beginners workout and it felt great but like i just got warmed up when it was already over. I decided to try out another dance class, I went for Metabolic Hiphop and let me just say I am 100% feeling it! I canāt do much but if figured since I already did my prescribed workout for the day anything I did would just be icing on the cake. I made it just under half way before I was unable to continue, my legs are gonna be on FIRE tomorrow! The music isnāt anything special but the trainers are awesome! Seriously. So good.
So I joined Daily Burn
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā I was lacking in motivation so I thought having a class might help but I canāt afford irl classes so I signed up for Daily Burn. I love having tons to choose from! At first it put me in TBT which was a bit more advanced than I can handle at this point. Next I tried MOVE which is a dance program that I am just going to love once I am capable of completing more than 5 minutes of it. Then I foundĀ āTrue Beginnersā itās for people who are new to working out or who are starting over again, itās taught by a very positive and slightly humorous guy named Justin and his team made up of a grandmother who looks like she could out run me, a vet who survived a car crash last year, and a heavy trying to get in shape but is surprisingly flexible mother type. I love them! Justin is SO encouraging and not at all intimidating, he stopped me from quitting more than once sayingĀ āok i know some of you are thinking you cant do this and want to turn this off but YOU CAN DO IT!ā or something to that effect and I Ā was like,Ā āok ok fine youre right iāve done harder things...ā and i made it through the whole thing! I sweated, my legs burn, but I totally did it. Go me!Ā

Ā Ā Ok so I havenāt been on much lately but I thought Iād pop in since I finally had a chance to weigh my self and also noticed a cool non weight milestone.
Ā Ā I have been struggling with motivation and confidence lately and have been kind of slippy on things. I have been doing more active things and trying to eat better most of the time I feel like on an effort meter Iāve been putting in a solid like 4 out of 10 which is not the 7-8 I started this blog with or the 0 I had before I started.
Ā Ā I live in a third floor apartment so the whole reason I started this thing was really 2 factors, 1. I was unable to climb the stairs with out huffing and puffing for like ten minutes and 2. I was 268 pounds, the heaviest Iād been since I was pregnant with twins 7 years ago and it was starting to get hard to move.
Ā Ā Well about a week ago I noticed that I could take the stairs 2 at a time with the same effort it took me to do them one at a time before I started training, being more active, and eating better. This weekend I had an opportunity to weigh myself, I donāt have a scale so I used my momās, and I am 5 pounds lighter than I was a month ago.
Ā Ā After the past couple Ā of pretty rough weeks Iāve had and *still* seeing progress, imagine what I could do if I really stuck with it...
Ā Ā This is so cool I can feel my body changing little by little I have more energy and itās easier to move every day. I am sore today and very tired from what I did yesterday but I am feeling very proud of myself...which is rare and welcome.
No literal workout today...
but I swear Iām not slacking! So I spent about an hour last night just running through a few moves I like, seated leg lifts, toe taps, bridges, several yoga-y things (as it turns out most of my favorite exercises have me using my core and legs), then starting this morning I found a radio station on Google Music calledĀ āHail to the Queensā and let me just tell you Iāve been dancing my ass off ALL day. Damn, yaāll. This radio station is seriously inspiring <3Ā

Sometimes I get depressed right? And it is harder than ever to get off my tail and workout. SO I donāt. I stay right ON my tail find the workout that keeps me closest to the floor but still calls for some work and I just make myself do it. If I donāt have to stand up thereās no getting discouraged about moving aaaaall of this as they say. Anyway I ran through this twice (slightly modified as I did more of some of the moves just because I like them) and my muscles are kiiiiiilling meeeeee... Plus itās named after a great villain from Xena do how can you go wrong?
Ok so
Slacking again but posting a workout today AFTER I finish doing it. I made up work outs a couple of days that I didnt post because I didnt write them down. I can feel my body rebelling at my lack of care over the past week or so. I have a crick in my shoulder that I feel is punishment for not working out. Going to workout now so my body wont hate me anymore.

Ok Ā so Iām working on a thing, this is first draft and I did NOT draw those pics, I was trying to do an rpg character themed workout and I just couldnāt relate to the classes until I hit Bard. Ah yes, thereās me. So I figure that the dance inspired moves lend themselves nicely to a Bard and the flexibility training is me trying to work my bard up to a real live split :) I tried this today but had to change some things because my muscles kind of started cramping, hadnāt drunk any water today (BAD, Jenny.), but I not sure I can do the whole thing yet, I may make changes but itās a start. If you have any suggestions on improving or need clarification on what i mean by anything feel free to send me an ask.
Ow. Goddamn ow yaāll. Ok so myĀ ācoreā aka torso was sore from yesterday so I decided to do some yoga, maybe stretch things out a bit get blood flowing, forgot thatĀ āengaging your coreā is essential in like EVERY YOGA MOVE EVER that plank in Wake Up and Connect got broken up into 4 sets of 5 seconds each because that was the most I could do but still I decided I hadnāt done enough yet, that took less than 10 minutes, not good enough, so I did Level .5 of the first page of Heroās Journey. (will do post re: Heroās Journey in a bit, itās really cool and deserves more space) I figure when I can do Level 1 all the way through I can move to the next page but so far I fell in the floor after doing 30/30/30 and 12 respectively. I feel good so about this whole thing so far, feeling stronger and kind of occasionally proud of myself, a little..
