Skids is a largely overlooked member of the X-Terminators, the teen recruits from the ‘80s Louise Simonson X-Factor that included more famous X-Men like Rictor and Boom-Boom. But I think she’s cool, and it was an excuse to draw leopard print!

A self-professed pious man of faith, William Stryker’s life was turned upside down when his wife gave birth to a Mutant child.   Stryker viewed Mutants as an abomination and an effrontery toward God; so much so that it drove him to murder both his wife and newborn son.  After considering taking his own life, Stryker decided that he had been chosen to lead a crusade to rid the world of Mutants.  A charismatic auditor, Reverend Stryker became a controversial televangelist who was able to weaponize the feelings of xenophobia many humans held toward Mutants.  He gathered a strong following of dedicated zealots who obeyed his every command.  A military veteran with ties to specialized black opt programs (including the ‘Weapon Plus’ Program), Stryker was able to utilize these connections to further his goals of Mutant genocide.  Stryker has bedeviled the X-Men on many occasions and his followers (who call themselves ‘The Purifiers’) have been responsible for the deaths of countless Mutants.   Versions of William Stryker have appeared in several of the X-Men movies, portrayed by actors Brian Cox, Danny Huston and Josh Helman.  Reverend Stryker first appeared in the pages of the graphic novel, X-en: God Loves Man Kills.
