Asher peered around them slightly before sitting back again. “Nope, it’s definitely you that they’re waving at. Are you sure you don’t know them?” 

Lucy’s breathe caught in her throat as she glanced over her shoulder at her foster parents, as she forced a smile on her face and waved back as if she were happy to see them. “They’re my foster family.” It took everything in her to not look like she was grimacing when she turned back to Asher.  

“Too late, I’m already worried. Why haven’t you been feeling great? Are you ill?” She asked softly looking at the girl with a concerned expression. “It’s fine, I don’t really care that you missed it, I just wanted to make sure you were okay.” 

“Erm yeah, I just haven’t been feeling well. I think I might be coming down with something.” She mumbled not wanting to admit the truth or talk about what was really bothering her, Lucy had always been much better at just pretending everything was fine.

Cass gave a small sigh. “What’s up buttercup?” She asked walking over next to before dropping onto the bed next to her friend. “It’s not like you to forget plans, is there something wrong?”

“Nothing, I’m okay Cass. Don’t worry. I’ve just not been feeling great.” Lucy fiddled with the ends of her sleeves awkwardly as she tried to avoid her friend’s eye. “I know, I promise I won’t forget our next meetup.”

Lucy saw noticed that her snapchat had been opened and frowned as she noticed that her reply had been ignored.

An amused smile pulled on the corners of Faye’s lips – though that wasn’t to say she wasn’t also concerned. She’d become very aware that there wasn’t all that much to be concerned about now, but it still didn’t look all that good – broken bones and bruising. “That makes sense.” Faye shrugged, before sitting down on the floor next to her. “I guess we’ll be here for a while then. Better get comfortable.” She joked with her friend. “Awh man – that’s disgustingly cool.” 

“Pshhh no, just give me a couple minutes and I’ll be good to go. Honest. What’s next?” Lucy craned her neck and leaned up to glance at her blonde friend as she tried to make herself sound chirpy and positive. “Okay maybe a little longer.” She groaned dropping back to the floor. “But hey, I’m still alive” The grin could almost be heard in her voice as she stared up at the sky, still full of excitement over her having powers. 

Owen: Never going to happen sis Owen: The bunny one is cute though, but it makes you look sad.

Owen: Adorable.  Owen: Somehow I don’t think they’d suit me though… then again I don’t exactly need any help in the looking cute department lmao

Jean: haha thanks 😁😁 Jean: but i think they would improve the pics Jean: especially with the deer one. i think that’d be my best look.

Faye watched as her friend fell from the balcony and she had to stop herself from reacting to the sight – reminding herself that there wasn’t any risk. Or, well, very little risk. She ran over to Lucy in her position on the floor. There was curiosity evident on her face and she bent down next to her. “What’s it like?” She asked, tilting her head. “Well, I know the falling bit – that’s great. But the hitting the ground bit… Does it hurt? Is it healing already?” 

Lucy groaned as she pushed herself up as if to get on all fours before collapsing back to the floor unable to hold her body weight. She could her body working to repair the damage it had caused, almost like a tingling sensation that ran along her skin. Seeing that she needed a little more recovery time, the blonde slowly rolled over onto her back so she could look up at her friend. “It sure didn’t feel great.” She let out another groan as she closed her eyes in pain. “It felt like I fell from a building and landed face first. Oh, that could be because I did.” Lucy peaked one eye open and gave a faint teasing grin. “Yeah it’s just a little slow. Looks like the more severe the longer it takes. I could feel my bones break. Now I can feel them, i don’t know, fusing together?”
