Her breath caught in her throat. She hadn’t meant for this to happen, but she had been so stupid. Yes, she had thought of putting Kol’s spirit in Kaleb’s body once again, but this was all before she knew him. Before she knew the real him. “Kaleb, I am so, so sorry. I truly am. The coven is trying to turn you against me, please, don’t listen to them, don’t let them — ” dont let them destroy what we have, was what she wanted to say, but the words were stuck. “I know how awful it was, considering to do all of this do you once again, but it was before I knew you. I care about you, I sincerely do.” And she cared more than she should, she knew this too.  “Please, don’t — don’t leave me.” Her voice broke as she murmured those words, her gaze full of tears fixed on him. She couldn’t lose him. In a few weeks, he had become everything she cared about and needed in life, he was her coven, her home.

Kaleb shook his head. As he has been told that Davina actually intended to get her homicidal and very dead vampire-boyfriend in his body, his world shattered into pieces. He thought they were friends. Maybe even more. What a fool he had been. “Spare me your pretty words”, he hissed. “For someone who’s judging so highly about people and accuse them of using you...” For a moment Kaleb fell silent before he spoke up again. “You ain’t better than them.” His voice was distant, nearly cold. His intention was set in stone - he wanted this to be over. No matter how much it would hurt. She betrayed him. She wanted to use him. Kaleb never has been the forgiving type but this...this was a thing he never could let go. He has been used once, even killed by the end and he would do everything to prevent it to happening again. He wasn’t a god-damned pawn you could shove around like you desired to. “For all I know, you could still try. Act up and pretend you care about me...” Again he shook his head. “I see why you got on well with him. Like will to like.” With a deep breath he searched for her gaze. This all was not about him. “We’re done.” The words made his heart clench but he had to. He had to break this off, there was no other option to choose. “Do not speak to me again, Davina.” Slowly he turned around. God, it hurt so much. “Unless you want to die”, he added in a low and quiet voice. The coldness of his own did surprise him. What felt like a heavy weight crushing down on his lungs and his heart, he started to walk away. He decided that today was the day on which Davina Claire became a dead person to him. It was okay that it hurt, you did mourn the dead after all. 

"Can you help me with this spell?"

"Maybe I should visit Gringotts sometime..."

"That's a nasty Bat-Bogey Hex. Great job!"

"Did you break your wand?"

"The Hogsmeade trip's been cancelled."

"That's an unforgivable curse. Where did you learn this?!"

"Did you have Divination after lunch?"

"What's Peeves up to now?"

"What place would you want on the Quidditch team?"

"I don't really care for my housemates."

"I bet I can win a race on broomsticks!"

"Let's just sneak into Knockturn Alley. Nobody has to know, right?"

"Did you hear about what happened in Potions today?"

"I don't think I was sorted right."

"There's something weird going on around the grounds."

"I really don't want to take Herbology this year."

"Do you need some tips on flying?"

"I think I need a new textbook."

"How long until the exams come around?"

"Which house were you sorted into to?"

"I dare you to go into the Forbidden Forest."

"How long until the school year starts?"

"I have to visit Diagon Alley before school starts. You coming with?"

“Oh my little witchy bitchy, just because you think so, it does not mean that it is true. I am pretty sure that your ego is the only big thing you have. And just so you know, you get more boring each and every second. And here I was, thinking the bayou could be somehow interesting… such a lie.”
