Inconspicuous Aesthetics

Ok, so I’m breaking the rules a bit because this peice is quite conspicuous. But DAMN this chandelier is good. The reflection on the inside of the dodecahedron is reminiscent of a stereographic projection of an object from hyperspace. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/16-cell#images I saw this in a shop full of all sorts of coolness.

I found this at a swap meet. It wasn't actually for sale, but I just had to appreciate the brilliance of this clothes hangar. It hangs multiple items using a single helical rod. That's sick.

This is a photo of cash registerat Waba Grill. I liked how the designer was able to create an asthetic design while keeping easy to fold with a single peice of sheet metal

This reminds me of a man who is looking at a broken mirror. The model is fairly photgenic, but the discarded crumples give him a shattered kind of look.

This font is ostentatiously bombdiggity.

There is no masterminded design behind the stamped concrete above. I just think it looks nice.

This is a common luggage wheel. Notice how when the case is tilted, the wheel automatically turns to the opposite direction. The most obvious design is to put the wheel exactly in the center, however due to this design, rolling the bag becomes much more convenient. Even though this is so common, it is still a simple and brilliant design.

This is a car air freshener. I just like how integrated the entire design is and how sleek it looks.

This is not a piece of art, it’s someone’s home. But even though it was quite dirty I still had to appreciate the underlying design. The owner/creator used a assortment of bike locks to combine two carts into one security device. Pretty ingenious if you ask me.

I found this at the Hammer Museum at UCLA. Even though the exhibit was about a video of insects, what fascinated me was these chairs. There were about 6 of them arranged in a semi modular fashion, and between them was an angular harmony. I did a bit more research and these chairs actually come from a company named Anzfer farms.

The side with the circles is the front and the side with wedges is the back.
