I’ve been following Nick’s liveblog for years and the idea that he’s been lying so consistently to get the attention of?? What?? A hundred people?? Is ridiculous. The patreon only came about by the end of last year and I was one of the first few people who subscribed because I really enjoy that this liveblog has kept people talking about the plot and narrative of TRC a decade after it ended, Nick’s insights are truly special and we’re really lucky to have someone like him in the fandom. (1/?)
If some people can’t believe that someone can be THAT good at analysing a story, then that’s on them. In 2015 I entered a fandom that’s entirely built on analysing the source material and not only did I meet a bunch of clever people with analysis capabilities comparable and even better than Nick’s, but also a lot of that stuff rubbed-off on me and I became pretty good at deducing plots, which is something I wasn’t able to do at all before. (2/?)The point of me saying all that is: Yes, some people can be THAT good, and it’s actually an ability that anyone can develop with practice. I’ve read Nick’s liveblogs for years now and not only have I screamed when he hits the nail so accurately it seems impossible, I’ve also seen the many times he hasn’t. I don’t think he’s lying and such a wonderful guy does not deserve to be called a liar just because some people can’t predict stuff from a story and think everyone is the same as them (3/3)
Thank you for these lovely messages Anon. I feel exactly the same way. I can only assume the two people calling him a liar are jealous for their own reasons and rather than trying to work through that they would rather lash out at someone having harmless fun.Â
Some people are just quicker to reach for the negative, I guess.Â
