You can talk about how frustrating it is that Muslim girls only get "I hate my religion and some white person is saving me from oppression" as representation. But this is not that. She's talking about her life. The problems you have aren't with her it's with production companies.

If I may add on - there is actual, literal gratuitous child porn on Netflix (Big Mouth). But the creators of it are white men, so of course people don't rush to be morally outraged by graphic depictions of children's genitals, as well as depictions of them masturbating, having sex, etc etc. The racist and islamophobic double standards of both white consumer audiences and production companies is so fucking blatant and it breaks my heart that a burgeoning black director was destroyed by it.
